Much better quality than other Thai joints around the city and surrounding suburbs but Melbourne is littered with tasty Thai restaurants and the experience was not supremely better especially given it does cost about double of suburban Thai restaurants. However, I would definitely visit again with friends and families. Thai food is just awesome!

Unfortunately it was a bit rushed due to the torrid rain on the night of the booking.
However the food and service was good

It was absolutely wonderful food, prepared lovingly we could see. Deserves its reputation. A memorable meal.
They were very helpful about mobility issues. The price for the set lunch banquet was reasonable, especially given the outstanding quality and amount of the food. They were happy to substitute chicken instead of pork in something, and did so with care and attention to detail that the sauce should still match it.
I will be recommending this one to everyone.

This is far from perfect. But it’s very solid.

It’s at the crown food hall, so you sure don’t come here for the location. But you’d come here in spite of it.

Because the food is very good. Clearly ahead of your suburban thai thang. Family friendly with one small step toward adventurous.

Sweet cocktails light on booze and long on ice. It’s here to make money, but does so whilst pleasing the crowd.

A group of say six get the best out of it because you can go variety. Four would be fine. A couple would only bother if passing, and I can’t imagine any reason whatsoever you’d be passing.

Service is friendly. Not slick. But nice. Normal. Suitable.

Unmemorable, but enjoyable.

From the welcome at the door our experience was excellent. Our waitperson was very attentive and knowledgeable and paid particular attention to my husbands allergy. She explained the menu very well and made some suggestions. We loved the selection of dishes which were authentic Thai and delicious.

Not happy with this dinner because the service lacked interest. They were unable to recommend any specials. The food itself was only Ok. We expected a lot more flavours. Would not go again and do not recommend this place for any special occasion as we left feeling very mundane.

Food was mass produced and really for the tourist trade. Not really that good. Service was great but it did not make up for the poor quality of the food.

Nice vibe. Food was good but not outstanding, considering all the other fab restaurants around it's quite hard to compete.

The fireballs going off all night added a certain je ne sais quoi...but have to say fishcakes were awesome!

Really tasty food with nice selection on the menu. Something for everyone and they cater for everyone’s chilli/spice tolerance. Soft shell crab and chicken curry are recommended

Very disappointing. Food over salted. Not authentic. Fish cakes close to burnt, so dry & simply salty. Green curry again way over-salted, with curry ‘broken’ (effectively curdled) leaving an unpleasant oiliness.
Having enjoyed wonderful travels in Thailand I had read great reviews about Long Chim. I was looking forward to experiencing some ‘real’ yet innovative Thai food in Melbourne. Devastated!
Service was good, but again (as in Number 8 days) the venue is noisy & not relaxing.

Food was excellent. Great balance of flavours, spicy and heat. The meal was let down by slow service, which for a business lunch was frustrating. We had to chase for our wine order and main courses. They need more staff.

This was probably one of our worst meals of 2017, so sad. Our 4th visit to Long Chim and will be our last, the most disappointing dishes were the soft shell crab with noodles and the green papaya salad.

Food was expensive and average to be honest. At the prices you expect a lot more than that!

We ordered the banquet and were not disappointed. It started off with a bang with beautiful chicken satay and then dried pawns wrapped in a betel leaf. This was of a high standard and set us up for the balance of the dishes to follow. Authentic ingredients and flavours abound

Service was friendly and attentive and we left with smiles all round

It was a spectacular experience. We ordered 4 dishes to share among two of us and that was slightly too much. Love the sweet fruit salad, balance off the heat from the spicy pork and rice cakes. The baked prawns and soft shell crabs were magnificent!!! Definitely recommend to have it with rice~~~ nommmm

Went here during lunch time and got the lunch special with a drink. Both my friend and I didn't like our dishes. We had the noodle soup which was very bland.

Long Chim provided me with the nostalgic feels that I was not expecting. Authentic experience, along with the great level of customer service right through the courses made it well worth the hype.

The only disappointment was the spiciness - when we were told that a dish was medium hotness, it came out blistering hot which was a bit misleading (and this is coming from someone that loves chilies).

Overall, a great vibe about the place and is recommended!

Really good food, but nowhere near as spicy as expected. The background music was very ordinary, like listening to a commercial radio station at times, and diminished the experience.
