Upon arrivking at the Lobster cave the venue was shut, We waited as we were a little early
However when our booking time arrived the venue was still shut,
We waited for an hour thinking the y were running late, however the venue did not open.
I realize that they may not have had sufficient bookings to make it viable for them to open,
But a simple text would have sufficed to inform us of this fact.
The occasion was our 48th wedding annyversary ,which was totally ruined by shear thoughlessness.
We had delivery so our experience was from that although we dined there many times
Found the experience good and satisfying
Loved the food,
Desert was amazing.
Portion size - spot on.
Staff are wonderful, food was sensational and finished off with the perfect coffee
Bhea who wasnt even our waitress went out of her way to help. She is an asset and I thank her for her help!!!!!!
Three of us celebrated my 70th birthday. We were warmly welcomed, the staff couldn't have made us more welcome, the service was out of this world, and the food was first class. We had a three course meal for $79.90 and there was nothing spared in quantity or quality. This was followed by complementary ports to celebrate my birthday. We will certainly be returning - and hopefully soon.
Our guests were running late yet the lobster cave were so patient and understanding. The food magnificent and service superb. Been there many times before and will return again
2 serves of Garlic Bread - $49.90 WOW that was a shock when we got the bill. Food was adequate but not amazing. Looking forward to Lobster but not at $249 Market Price. Couldn't finish my main - waitress forgot to return it to table for me to take home. Had to ask for water jug 3 times but Service generally efficient. 4 of us put on huge lounge table for 8 so we had to sit side by side - ridiculous. Don't go here for Lobster or Garlic Bread unless you have a big wallet!
Like all really good restaurants, the staff at this restaurant make you feel at home but also make you feel important
very disappointed from past dinning experiences no oysters service was very poor had to re ask for drink order and entrée order
This place is just next level wow!!!
I bought a Scoopon Voucher for my husband for his birthday. It was the Lobster experience. Everything was perfect from the minute we walked in until we left.
Hmm well we’d pre purchased Groupons for elderly parents plus ourselves but we were incorrectly told only 1 per table when we arrived and had to pay for other 2 meals (mains & deserts & drinks) When we pointed out that we could use 2 Groupons at end they let us use Groupons however it was too late & we didn’t get the value of benefits of Groupon special, eg bottle of wine & entree that we’d paid for. A bit disappointing that staff not informed and made no effort to compensate but otherwise good
We had an amazing night. First time here! Was our 38 th wedding anniversary. We were given a voucher from friends. The waitress was fantastic she made us feel at home ! Even saw us out which made you feel special! What a variety of food so hard to choose but we will be back and try the rest. Thankyou so loved The Lobster Cave xx
We enjoyed the Friday lunch special, smoked salmon entree and eye fillet mains with a glass of wine. Steak was cooked perfectly. Good food, good value.
We would have liked to have a coffee, but we were not prepared to pay $8.50 for a cup, so enjoyed an excellent coffee at one of the very good cafes on the Concourse for $4.50!
Our waitress, Kat, was first class. Very attentive without being in our faces. Lovely young lady.
We had lunch at Lobster Cave on Friday, celebrating our birthdays.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 course lunch, absolutely delicious.
Our waiter Harry looked after us extremely well.
lobster cave had already come highly Reccomended so the expectations were high, it met every single one from the second we walked in the door the service was amazing and the food was perfect. We cannot recommend lobster cave more.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the Lobster Cave! The food was excellent and the extra treats were unexpected and delicious! The service by Harry could not have been better! We were made to feel quite special, and we're looking forward to our next visit.
WE were served by Kath who was fantastic with her service.
Kath made our dinning experience exceptional and relaxed with her ongoing communication and attention.
The Irish Cream was to die for.
Well done Kath.
The Lobster Cave has always been a favourite with it being site of our first date. Very uncomfortable with the cost of last visit, the prices have gone up significantly and we where a bit surprised.
We love the ambience and the service and everything else about the restaurant.
I have eaten here previously and the food and service was exceptional. Unfortunately my experience last night was poor with my Lobster Mornay overcooked and rubbery with very little mornay sauce (probably the reason for it being overcooked and rubbery). Service was poor and inconsistent throughout service.
Great food and service always make you feel welcome
Went in with intention of buying the Fisherman basket platter for $220. When placing the order we noticed the price had gone up to $300. The large platter arrived only to not have the crab we were looking forward too but it had been replaced with another whole fish and two extra large fish fingers. Fair maybe but far too much fish leaving us to waste a lot of food that we paid so much for. The lesson is : Pay attention when the small print says subject to change.
Great food, service & value for money deals
Enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Staff on the whole very attentive. Had a voucher for $400 which only cost $200. Good value for $200 but overpriced if paying full amount
Amazing service, great food and atmosphere
Food was so fresh couldn’t fault any of the dishes we had.
The staff were super friendly and very attentive
Enjoyed our experience at Lobster Cave, our first time and will certainly return. Food and service were very good and have already recommended it to friends
Great atmosphere, good value for money (via groupon ) Nice touch with complimentary starters & port to finish. Only issue & it has happened twice now is batter on fish was very crispy & hard to cut.
Tables are close together so conversations are overheard very easily, very difficult to have an intimate dining experience.
Unfortunately we had to wait outside on the footpath until our table was ready (we had a booking) they had run out of oysters and the lobster was over cooked therefore dry and tough. The trout was flavourless and the service was ok at best We were overcharged. The scampi, prawns and scallops were all lovely. Overall if the lobster cave cannot get lobster right you have to wonder. I would never return. We were really looking forward to it but sadly cane away disappointed.
One of our very favourite restaurants. Never fails to impress yesterday was no exception. The menu selection was suburb (one of the very best we have encountered)as was the level of service. Love being in the section at the back of the entry - something special.
The Cave lunch specials are great value but some of the dishes are far too large! I enjoyed my gnocchi and pilaf which were both a good size but my wife and friends had to leave some of their soup, fish and in particular the calamari main. I think smaller helpings are preferable and might also lead to a slightly better quality.
Seafood was fresh and ambience was nice
we were lucky enough to have lunch on Sunday finally after 12 months. Our son and Daughter inlaw gave us a voucher and we hadnt been able to use it as my husband has not been well. He has had to have a double amputation on his legs and is in a wheelchair. I have had to cancel numerous times but the Lobster Cave were fantastic and even extended our voucher for us . When we arrived we felt like royalty we were well looked after. Even a free glass of wine and a $50 voucher for next time Thank you
we love the lobster cave , it never fails to please us ,the food the service the prices , and attention to detail are second to none , we have dined there many times , and this time we took family who have moved from interstate , to say they were impressed with everything would be a gross understatement .we and they will most definitely be returning .
The atmosphere good the staff were good the main meal
Garlic bread entre was very nice
The Chefs catch was disappointing.
We focused on the Lobster and were so looking forward to it.
The lobster was overcooked and dry not moist, the calamari outer was also dry and not pleasant to eat.
Your serve of Tasmanian smoked salmon was over generous half would be sufficient
Fish, Mussels, oysters and scallops all good.
Excellent food and service. Esp Yannis @ Beaumaris restaurant. Staff all professional
500 characters is insufficient to adequately describe my criticism and how I acquired the expertise to make a judgement. Suffice to say I have many times partaken of the cooking from go to whoa of live lobsters freshly flown in from King Island, drowned in fresh water, then boiled, placed on a sloped drying rack, hosed to clean the carcasses of muck, then eaten that day.You can't get fresher than that eh! That is how I base my opinion that the lobster I had last night had been frozen.
Words can not described how we enjoy food, drinks and services sure we be back again, thanks
