WE were served by Kath who was fantastic with her service.
Kath made our dinning experience exceptional and relaxed with her ongoing communication and attention.
The Irish Cream was to die for.
Well done Kath.
The Lobster Cave has always been a favourite with it being site of our first date. Very uncomfortable with the cost of last visit, the prices have gone up significantly and we where a bit surprised.
We love the ambience and the service and everything else about the restaurant.
I have eaten here previously and the food and service was exceptional. Unfortunately my experience last night was poor with my Lobster Mornay overcooked and rubbery with very little mornay sauce (probably the reason for it being overcooked and rubbery). Service was poor and inconsistent throughout service.
Great food and service always make you feel welcome
Went in with intention of buying the Fisherman basket platter for $220. When placing the order we noticed the price had gone up to $300. The large platter arrived only to not have the crab we were looking forward too but it had been replaced with another whole fish and two extra large fish fingers. Fair maybe but far too much fish leaving us to waste a lot of food that we paid so much for. The lesson is : Pay attention when the small print says subject to change.
Great food, service & value for money deals
Enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Staff on the whole very attentive. Had a voucher for $400 which only cost $200. Good value for $200 but overpriced if paying full amount
Amazing service, great food and atmosphere
Food was so fresh couldn’t fault any of the dishes we had.
The staff were super friendly and very attentive
Enjoyed our experience at Lobster Cave, our first time and will certainly return. Food and service were very good and have already recommended it to friends
Great atmosphere, good value for money (via groupon ) Nice touch with complimentary starters & port to finish. Only issue & it has happened twice now is batter on fish was very crispy & hard to cut.
Tables are close together so conversations are overheard very easily, very difficult to have an intimate dining experience.
Unfortunately we had to wait outside on the footpath until our table was ready (we had a booking) they had run out of oysters and the lobster was over cooked therefore dry and tough. The trout was flavourless and the service was ok at best We were overcharged. The scampi, prawns and scallops were all lovely. Overall if the lobster cave cannot get lobster right you have to wonder. I would never return. We were really looking forward to it but sadly cane away disappointed.
One of our very favourite restaurants. Never fails to impress yesterday was no exception. The menu selection was suburb (one of the very best we have encountered)as was the level of service. Love being in the section at the back of the entry - something special.
The Cave lunch specials are great value but some of the dishes are far too large! I enjoyed my gnocchi and pilaf which were both a good size but my wife and friends had to leave some of their soup, fish and in particular the calamari main. I think smaller helpings are preferable and might also lead to a slightly better quality.
Seafood was fresh and ambience was nice
we were lucky enough to have lunch on Sunday finally after 12 months. Our son and Daughter inlaw gave us a voucher and we hadnt been able to use it as my husband has not been well. He has had to have a double amputation on his legs and is in a wheelchair. I have had to cancel numerous times but the Lobster Cave were fantastic and even extended our voucher for us . When we arrived we felt like royalty we were well looked after. Even a free glass of wine and a $50 voucher for next time Thank you
we love the lobster cave , it never fails to please us ,the food the service the prices , and attention to detail are second to none , we have dined there many times , and this time we took family who have moved from interstate , to say they were impressed with everything would be a gross understatement .we and they will most definitely be returning .
The atmosphere good the staff were good the main meal
Garlic bread entre was very nice
The Chefs catch was disappointing.
We focused on the Lobster and were so looking forward to it.
The lobster was overcooked and dry not moist, the calamari outer was also dry and not pleasant to eat.
Your serve of Tasmanian smoked salmon was over generous half would be sufficient
Fish, Mussels, oysters and scallops all good.
Excellent food and service. Esp Yannis @ Beaumaris restaurant. Staff all professional
500 characters is insufficient to adequately describe my criticism and how I acquired the expertise to make a judgement. Suffice to say I have many times partaken of the cooking from go to whoa of live lobsters freshly flown in from King Island, drowned in fresh water, then boiled, placed on a sloped drying rack, hosed to clean the carcasses of muck, then eaten that day.You can't get fresher than that eh! That is how I base my opinion that the lobster I had last night had been frozen.
Words can not described how we enjoy food, drinks and services sure we be back again, thanks
Excellent. Delicious food, positive atmosphere, helpful staff, and brilliant service.
Went for the special and our only complaint was the mains were far too small for the price nice flavors though had to buy a dozen oysters to fill the void. Oysters were the pick of the night delicious.creme brulee was also delicious
Seafood wasn't fresh. Not happy with the sizzling seafood plater.
Our first time at the Lobster Cave and I must say it was a great experience from start to finish.
We were taken care of by the waiters and drinks and food were served promptly. The waiters were very friendly and professional.
The meals were well portioned, flavourism and the lobster and oysters were very fresh.
Good selection of wine to choose from.
Unfortunately my review will not be all that positive. We sat down to a mixed platter which contained seafood and meat. The concept of a mainly hot mixed platter is not ideal for 2 people. Food goes cold very quickly so one must toss up which to eat first - fried fish, fried calamari, garlic prawns, steak or lamp ribs. After 10 minutes most hot food is already cold (certainly not helped by the air con duct above our heads). Cold lamb is certainly not to everyone's liking. Single meals better.
Service with a smile, low lighting so i found romantic.
Food was delicious
This was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we have ever had. The service was poor, our drinks order was missed, there was no cutlery for our main meals and the menu was out of date. It was particularly noisy and the food was below average. My entree was flavourless, the barramundi was over cooked and vegetables were soggy. The replacement dessert was dry and tasteless. All in all a terrible experience. I have contacted the restaurant but have not received a response.
Very amazing food qand loved the service we received from the staff.
Xmas double the value vouchers are exceptonal value we bought a $200 voucher for $100 food was excellent staff very attentive will go back 😁
Great soft lobster and loved the deep fried prawns. The platter was wonderfully cooked. Good service.
Attended upon a special deal by Lobster Cave, it was value for money and not short served. The music was nice in the beginning with christmas classical/opera type creating relaxing atmosphere. The serving staff were very attentive and helpful.
Otherwise had a lovely time. thank you.
Excellent service, seafood and tremendous value; highly recommended for either lunch or dinner.
Used a voucher on the night, and the lobster bisque was good, the steak was OK, but the lobster was more like the size of a prawn....very disappointing, better not to have it at all.
The seating for couples was cramped and made it difficult to talk to a partner without the risk of the conversation being easily overheard.
The service as usual was excellent, but noticed that the outdoor eating area, which was nice to sit at on a warm evening, has unfortunately disappeared.
One of my favourite restaurants. Always such amazing service & food!
Everything was just perfect
Food and service amazing
We will be back , loved it
We were extremely disappointed. We have been members of the Cave Club for over 10 years and we have noticed a marked downgrade in quality and portion sizes. We booked the table a couple of months ago so we very surprised when the three of us were taken to a table by a drafty doorway that was clearly only just big enough for two people. Because of this experience we have decided that we will not be returning to the restaurant.
We have dined here 2 other times with friends but this was the first time as a couple. As per previous visits the food was exceptional along with the friendly staff. Will not hesitate to come again even though we live in Eltham
Outdated decor, poor quality food, inattentive and enthusiastic staff. Very expensive for what you get. Food was not fresh seafood, tasted frozen and battered to hide this.
