Authentic Bengali food in the heart of London
Greeted with the warmest of welcomes on the door, we didn’t catch the women’s name, however she was so accommodating!
Our waiter Akmal could see we were undecided on the menu and kindly ordered for us taking in lots of our preferences, we were so impressed with the spread! Thank you!
Delicious food and great service
Excellent professional service accompanied by delicious dishes especially their Jumbro prawn and Goat curry. Very busy and lovely ambience. Great beer choices too
Food was bland and did not really have any taste . The roti was dry and hard
Excellent & Prompt Service, Very Good Food & The Place Was Buzzing With Atmosphere, Definitely A Must
Great food with good flavour
We booked a table for 9:45 PM through Open Table, arrived at 9:47 PM
Me: Hello, we have a booking for 2 people.
Waiter: we are sorry, the kitchen is closed.
Me: why did you take booking for 9:45 PM if the kitchen closes at this time.
Waiter: restaurant is open till 11 PM but the kitchen closes at 9:45, the booking system doesn’t understand this.
After a few minutes of not so great discussion, we were given a table and they requested to order quickly.
Food was not at all up to the expectation, I could not finish my food as it was tasteless. Take a look at the pictures and decide, does this Papad (papadum) and Chicken Muglai
Waitress Martha was courteous and tried her best to make it a happy customer journey but damage was done with conversation on arrival and later with the quality of food.
This was part of our wish list for a long time. Finally made it! The booking (using OpenTable) was smooth. We arrived bang on time, had to wait for only 5 mins or so as our table was being prepared.
Overall the food was good (4.5/5). Being a Bengali from Kolkata, I found it quite authentic. The best of the lot was Goat Kosha Mangsho (with Luchi) and House Special Lamb Biriyani. The IndoChinese Chilli Chicken was below par.
Service was slow. I felt they were understaffed. The seating was very cramped. The AC was not working and in the peak hours of Saturday night, it was really hot. We asked for the wifi credentials and it came really late.
The pocket pinch was around £150 for 5 adults and one 5yr-old.
Would love to come back, solely because of their food.
