Liberty Street Bistro
Fun Fact: Chef and owner Michael Kelly has cut his teeth in some of NYC’s greatest kitchens, including Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bakery and Markus Glocker’s Batard. Now, he’s crafting his own menu, bringing classic fine dining into a bold new era!
Excellent restaurant, the food was prepared extremely well. From the chicken for two , to the lamb, to the dessert.
Wonderful!! The food, drinks, and the staff! Will definitely be back..
One of the best restaurants in the valley- wonderful, creative food, truly fine service in a very attractive setting.
Very good food
Unique fine dining. Absolutely delicious.
This restaurant never fails to amaze me. It is consistently 5 star and has become my favorite place.
Lovely restaurant with a creative menu. The tasting menu concept allowed us to try several dishes without overeating, and the wine pairings worked very well.
The foie gras truffles are incredible!!! Highly recommend!
Absolutely incredible food. I live in Manhattan met my nephew who lives upstate. I will be taking my girlfriend for the hour and 15 minute drive from the city soon to experience the restaurant. Great service lovely atmosphere. Excellent all way around. Good job!
Have been here a few times and always an impressive experience
The menu offers very unique tastings that are excellent
Have tried new things I would have never ordered
Great staff and service
The ambiance and decor feels really private and upscale. The staff is very knowledgeable about the cuisine and drinks. They make dining out an experience. When you spend money, you want to feel like it’s for something. Liberty Street Bistro does that. It was a memorable night. The food was delicious and so were their signature drinks. I am from Newburgh and this is such a gem. We live out of the area now and frequent the area for our date nights. We have a new spot now! We will be back very soon!
Booked a pre-Thanksgiving dinner for my family and we couldn’t have been treated better or enjoyed it more. We all did variations of the tasting menu with excellent wine pairings. If you’re in the Beacon/Newburgh area you must make time for a meal here!
As always a great meal, taking a favorite dish and adding a wonderful twist. Our waiter was great, traditionally trained, very knowledgeable along with being friendly and efficient without rushing- thank you Zach.
The menu has recently changed adding a new carrot soup which was simply delicious. As always the service was very good, lots of attention to details and making sure all the guests are happy and comfortable.
The food was incredible! I loved (and ate) every morsel!! Compliments to the chef, Mike Kelly!!
The Bistro has a relaxed atmosphere without being stuffy. The staff was attentive without being overbearing. In all, a memorable dining experience!
I have already informed friend and family about the time
I've dined here before and always had a great experience. I booked through OpenTable and mentioned it was my Anniversary. When we arrived our bubbly waitress mentioned this immediately and asked if he could send over a complimentary cocktail. We gladly excepted, it was 2 glasses of sparkling Rose. It was a wonderful surprise. We were there during Restaurant Week so the price was amazing. The portions are small but the food is incredible. The atmosphere and décor is hip and relaxing. I would highly recommend Liberty Street Bistro.
Excellent food with wonderful wine pairings. A place I will come back to.
Liberty Street Bistro was delicious, good food, generous portions, great value
We have been here several times and each time is better than the last. The service is outstanding the servers are knowledgeable and helpful. The restaurant is spotless and the decor is warm and inviting. We usually make reservations but sometimes we don’t or we even plan to get there early and relax in the bar area. With so few choices in the area we appreciate the changing menu so we can come often and experience different and wonderful food.
Fabulous food, great service. Highly recommend the Bistro!
Not our first visit — we love the place. Good and service have been outstanding every time.
the food was literally an art. portion and the size of each plate was spot on
Having received emails about this place for years, we were anxious to try it and chose Hudson Valley Restaurant week. Of note, this restaurant only honored the discount on selected dates during the 2 weeks. Instead of their usual $41 for 3 courses , it was $32.
That said, the menu had 4 categories but we were told that one course had to be chosen from 2 categories and the other 2 from the 2 others- basically you had to get a dessert. In addition, wine pairing was $20 pp for the 3 courses rather than $40. Sounds reasonable , but a bit confusing. Although food was good the portions were remarkably small- and we are NOT gluttons. Turns out the portions for Restaurant week WERE smaller than usual! AND, the wine offerings were also minuscule! Come on! If you want to intro folks to your restaurant, why cheap out on size—- particularly when you only run the promo for selected nights! 2 pastas were tasty-? But 3 raviolis? ; and 3 scallops ?; the gnocchi were the largest portion. Lamb shoulder tasty but a bit fatty. Desserts were good.
To sum up, it it a shame that they may be having a tough time financially to account for cheating out this way. If they are doing well, why not take the high road and put your best foot forward. Clearly, this will impact our decision for a return visit.
Really cool atmosphere and the food was great. I'm excited to go back and try the regular menu soon!!
My second visit and thoroughly enjoyed the experience again. The only thing that was a bit off was the sweet potato gnocchi had a strange bitter aftertaste but that’s just my taste buds. My pork belly melted in my mouth. I also had a taste of risotto and scallops which were equally as delicious. The chocolate mousse enclosed in a hard chocolate shell was so rich but not too sweet. I do , however, think the wait staff could use a little more education on drinks and wine but service in general was very good.
The food and service were amazing. Unique meals with flavors that are so surprising and delicious.. Nothing scary or off putting.. We had delicious and beautiful mock-tails as well and were fully satisfied
The menu Liberty Street offered for Hudson Valley Restaurant Week was generous and almost exactly the same as their usual menu. At $33 rather than $55 it was excellent value, particularly considering the quality of ingredients used, sophistication of the offerings, and diverse, creative preparations. And it was all as delicious as ever, right down to the little rolls with sunflower seeds.
One member of my party received a different entrée than he'd ordered; wait staff offered to replace it, but he elected not to endure what was acknowledged to be a significant wait.
We brought our own wines - a grand cru and a first growth Burgundy - and were charged a $25 corkage for each. While the restaurant was within its rights to do so, it has levied only one corkage fee when we've brought 2 bottles in the past.
Always exceptional and surprising! So lucky to have this gem close by!
Went for restaurant week. Good value. We all -4 of us-Got the wine pairing which we all are enjoyed very much.
The team at Liberty Street consistently hits it out of the park. The food is amazing with a wine list to match.
excellent food, imaginatively prepared, presented and served with style, along with wonderful wine pairings.
Excellent, we had a great time and food was delicious
Inventive dishes, creative flavors, seasonal fare, meat and vegetarian options, curated wine list, well-trained staff, great bar! Great place for a meeting/special night.
The food here is absolutely incredible. The pastas (a ravioli dish, a gnocchi dish, and a risotto dish) were truly mind blowing. The only dish we had that wasn't great was a monk fish entree, which was very average. The service was excellent. Ambiance is as good as could be expected from a store front on the street. The kitchen is fun to watch -- it is behind glass in the back, but not at all closed off. The wine was superb. The meal was a little expensive, but very well worth it -- we will definitely go back when we want to treat ourselves.
A treasure in Newburgh. We went for the first time during restaurant week and will be back soon
Atmosphere was nice food was excellent and the wait stuff were very efficient and friendly
My husband and I chose to celebrate my birthday this week at Liberty Street Bistro and everything was perfect!
Always a great time
Excellent dining in the historic district of Newburgh. Attentive service coupled with excellent food. The wine pairing was well done and not at all excessively priced . The biggest compliment I can provide is “we will be back”
