Situated on the ground floor of the old Fade Street Tenements l’Gueuleton is a combination of exposed red brick walls, industrial beams, copper ceilings and wood floors. Candle light and music thats far from background help create our interpretation on the french bistro.
The l'Gueuleton bar & terrace which opened in 2016 serves everything from classic cocktails and wine to a selection of 55 local and international Gin's. With resident DJs Cian Murphy and Robbie Kitt playing a mix of disco, house and garage every Friday, Saturday a
Excellent. A group of 6 of us had the most enjoyable night. Food was unbelievable, I’m still dreaming of the truffle fries!!
Every single one of us had a brilliant dining experience. Again food was outstanding. Thanks for a great night l’gueleton
The food was nice, if a bit overpriced. Wine was fairly priced. However, the restaurant is cold and I was amazed at the number of people eating with their coats on. This means that your food gets cold very quickly and is unpleasant. Also, watch your bill as we were overcharged twice and there was not a hint of an apology.
Great food but the old table we were are wasnt great for my legs. I could barley get my legs under. But i will be back!
Dreadful service. We spent half the meal trying to catch a waitress' eye (as they all stood with their backs to us). Every single opportunity where the staff should have been attentive they were not. It was just awful! And the toilets were disgusting.
Yes, I really enjoyed my visit to l'Gueuleton. The only complaint I would have was that service was quite slow. Our order was slow to be taken at the start and then it was hard to get our coffees ordered at the end.
Good night out with friends. Good, service, ambience. A bit perturbed in advance to hear that there were set time limits for dining, depending on numbers in the party, but in the end we weren't rushed out. Will return.
Lovely restaurant. Good French food. Great atmosphere. The only problem for me is the music, loud with a stumping bass.
Food was poor. Had eggs with mushrooms on sourdough. The mushrooms were cooked in cream and put on top so the bread was soggy. Eggs were undercooked and the french toast desert was not nice. Very overpriced for what we got.
Nice rustic decor, great atmosphere.
I really enjoyed the meal. Having heard excellent reports from friends and family, I was excited to finally have the opportunity to eat at L’Gueuleton and the experience met and even exceeded the expectations. The scallop starter was unusual and slightly insipid if each part was eaten separately. However, by tasting together, all three parts of the deconstructed dish, they worked magically and I’d never have dreamt of the taste combination. The main course of brill with pistachio crust was the star dish though. Everything worked well together and the portion size was adequate. I didn’t have a dessert but I enjoyed a nice light glass of Picpoul with my fish. Service was excellent and came with a smile. When I booked, I had a message with a warning about the venue becoming a late bar on weekends, however we booked for 8.00pm and there were no issues with music drowning out the conversation.
For whatever reason, it's hard to find cocktails and food under the same roof in Dublin. As one of the few places where this is possible, we're glad to have found it. But after expecting to be blown away (based on reviews), we left somewhat underwhelmed. We were anticipating a smaller, more rustic French-style bistro with a really unique menu, and instead got okay food (bone marrow burger sounded incredible, but tasted like any other slightly dry / overcooked burger) at something that felt a bit like a mass-marketed chain. Not bad, but not what we were hoping for either.
Excellent staff, tasty food made with care. Suits all occasions -date/ family/ friends etc
Lovely service and gorgeous food
Lovely atmosphere. Food very expensive
Always guaranteed a delicious meal and a lovely vibe.
Excellent meal with great service in a lovely setting. Great buzz about the place in the week before Xmas. Music a little too loud but will definitely be back
I’ve always enjoyed L’Gueleton over the years. Seeing it as an old reliable. But the Xmas menu was really really disappointing. The carrot salad was burnt. The duck main was ok. And my creme Brulée was scrambled!
Lovely food and atmosphere. Loved the endless sparkling water for only €1! Staff were very attentive and the overall experience was great.
Having booked a table some weeks ago on arrival I was directed to seat at a table beside a fire exit door which was in constant use. It seemed to me that my arrival was a surprise and our booking an oversight. I requested a different table and was ushered to a table which was right in the centre of what was your busiest spot. When my friends arrived, they did not like the table location, so we requested a different one in by the wall when people had left. We were offered that table right next to us which seemed surreal. The menu was for brunch, yet we had booked lunch. 2 pm is not brunch however when booking had not been advised that it would be a limited menu.
The service was atrocious. Whenever we ordered wine, a drink or a liquor coffee we had to ask several times before it arrived. We could see our drinks sitting on the bar.
Th backrooms were the insult to injury with a soiled baby's nappy protruding from the hygiene bin all afternoon which then lead to sanitary products left exposed on top of the nappy.
A member of staff had stepped into helping serve our table when we had been waiting. My friend did tell this member of staff about the toilets and about the lack of service that our table had encountered during this staff member’s break. She explained that her colleague was a bit tired.
The whole experience was very disappointing even more so as my friend had just returned home for Christmas and this was her first meal out.
Great food and attentive service, despite it being a Friday night in the run up to Christmas. The too-small and shared bathroom situation still needs to be addressed and I dropped a star because of all the awkwardness
Lovely dinner with a few lads, staff very accommodating, great place to dine
I am happy to recommend our dinner. they fitted us in a half hour early...staff were professional and courteous!
Food excellent as always, and service random as always! Come for the food, stay for the eccentric wait staff and haphazard service :)
Excellent service , excellent food. Will 100% go back!
Amazing staff. Great food. Perfect location.
I commend there on Thursday at a table near the bar. A glass fell from the bar smashed and some landed on our table. Not even an apology or offered to be moved elsewhere. When the table cleared we found a huge lump of glass on the table. We both work in financial services and were considering it for a department night out but when there are so many nicer Venu that don't stick broken glass on our table why would I bother. I was so very disappointed
Enjoyed our visit to L’gueuleton. Found the noise level very high so quite difficult to have conversation with friends. Nice vibe though. Food was beautiful although my husband ordered the beef and found it quite grizzly.
Staff super helpful and friendly. The menu didnt match the one online which threw our vegan diner. As did the "no substitutions or deletions" I'd recommend either including a vegan option onto the menu or stating substitutions may be made within reason.
We had a family weekend brunch here, all ages were happy with the venue. Music was a bit loud at the start but was lowered as we got our food and the place filled up. Food was fantastic, service was friendly and everyone had a great time.
As always the service is good and staff are friendly. The food was amazing and the bottle of wine we had was reasonably priced.
Fab service, fab food = perfect 😎
Food was excellent, couldn't fault it. Beef bourgignin was superb and the French onion soup. Staff were friendly but a little inattentive, had to ask for water and nobody asked how we found the food or if everything was OK, after each course and were slow to get the bill. Chair are a little uncomfortable and could use a cushion. Other than that it's a nice restaurant, little pricey but the food quality is excellent.
They no longer do an early bird. The food is a lot more expensive than it used to be at almost €30 for each main. Starters are €13/14 which is very pricey.
We had 2 mains and suddenly the bill was put on the table, when I booked it stated 2 hours for 2 people, we arrived at 5.30. The bill arrived at 6.45 without us asking for it. Thought this was rude. Food was very nice
Food was amazing, service was incredible and the staff were so nice
Very good but could do with more vegetarian options.
We were greeted immensely we arrived and given a choice of tables. Staff were friendly and efficient. Our lunch was lovely and served quickly, which is important at lunch time. It has been awhile since we were there but won’t be leaving it as long TIL we visit again
Excellent restaurant staff atmosphere and food were amazing.
nice waiting staff, but the food was average, one starter nice, the other lacking taste, the steak mains was grizzly, while the other partridge mains was left under the heat lamp for a few minutes too long unfortunately..overall it was overpriced - without coffees or desserts, the bill came to nearly €200.. there's much better value and much better food to be had elsewhere in dublin these days, and not too far away.. sorry! criostoir..
Had a lovely lunch with friends. They could not be more accommodating as our party size was increased by 2 on the day. Gorgeous food too. Definitely recommend l'Gueuleton
Got recommended this place from Work colleagues so was keen to book this for a work event.
Disappointed that we got give then set menu even thought there were only 8 of us.
Staff were ok, not the friendliest, and rushed us out. Not ideal. Food was tasty and a great selection of drinks
