Situated on the ground floor of the old Fade Street Tenements l’Gueuleton is a combination of exposed red brick walls, industrial beams, copper ceilings and wood floors. Candle light and music thats far from background help create our interpretation on the french bistro.
The l'Gueuleton bar & terrace which opened in 2016 serves everything from classic cocktails and wine to a selection of 55 local and international Gin's. With resident DJs Cian Murphy and Robbie Kitt playing a mix of disco, house and garage every Friday, Saturday a
There wasn't a vegan option on the menu but the chef cooked up a very nice dish for me. Great atmosphere and very pleasant service.
Delicious food, good atmosphere, good value.
We were a group of 5 friends meeting to catch up over lunch, and everything that each of us ordered was lovely! The selection included Croque Monsieur, Gambas salad, Vegetarian Filo Pie, Steak Sandwich. The fries with béarnaise are out of this world.
Wines were, of course, very nice. The house wine is great and keenly priced.
We all opted for the "coffee with tiny selection of sweets" and this was really lovely too.
Staff were very helpful.
Excellent food with real flavor !
Unpretentious Restaurant that packs a punch .
Great night out .
Dinner was absolutely devine, we both had the goats cheese and fig starter. Best starter ever, I had the pork belly and my husband had the best steak ever (his words) and we share the strawberry eton mess (its a must) and lovely wine.
Not a classical dining experience. Very limited choices on menu Service was lacking especially as listed as French dining
Very friendly staff, good menu and the food was excellent. Wine list a bit on the pricey side for good French wine.
Happening spot.... the food was good and server was friendly but it was really slow... both the appetizers and the entrees took a long (long) time to come out. The wine list was okay but not good for an enthusiast.
We had a wonderful few hours celebrating our parents 60th Wedding Anniversary. The food was fantastic and the staff were soooo nice to our parents and made sure that they were looked after. The pork belly was outstanding. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommend A ++++
Great night. Staff were amazing and food delicious!
Started I had prawn tortellini, it was amazing! Steak even better for main! Highly recommend! Top class!
Whopper! Staff were very sound, even gave us a free desert! Lovely atmosphere will definately be back!
Food was average.
Wine was poor quality for the price.
Place was noisy.
Service was OK.
Great food, nice atmosphere, very little to criticize, a little pricey but given its location to be expected.
Really great service from staff! Wonderful experience :)
Lovely restaurant with great staff. I was a little disappointed with my hake as it was overcooked and the skin was flabby instead of crispy. Otherwise it was a lovely evening and my dining companions enjoyed their dishes
Very nice staff
Great food, great service and reasonable prices
Went on a Sunday evening at 7pm. Restaurant did not have many guests but the music was pumping, and was like eating in a nightclub. If you are looking for a nice relaxing meal and a catch up with old friends, do not eat here. No reason to force guests to shout over the music to be heard.
We had a spectacularly good meal here. My partner had the french onion soup to start - as good as any I've had in France and far better than anywhere else. My starter was a symphony of crisply coated duck egg with a deliciously oozing yolk on a bed of super-fresh frisee lettuce and shards of crunchy prosciutto with asparagus spears and a slick of freshly made mayo. I couldn't fault it as a combination of harmonizing flavours. For mains I had guinea fowl with a wild mushroom sauce and roasted celeriac which was again pitch-perfect and with just the right amount of seasoning. My partner's steak was one of the best he's had :cooked to a spot-on 'medium' and served with skin-on chips and a choice of sauces from which he had the green peppercorn. Desserts would have been an indulgence too far but a quick glance at the menu confirmed that anyone with a sweet tooth would have been in for a treat. Service was great, the atmosphere was good but the star here is the food. Highly recommended.
Lovely restaurant with a beautiful ambience, friendly waiters and deliciously tasting food. Would not hesitate to recommend!
The lady with dark hair on till the /Bar area was super accommodating when we asked to move tables because our son is autistic and he didn’t fit in the high chair anymore , it was our first dining experience not having him sitting in a high chair , which is a big deal for us , it was so stress free . A big thank you
Very nice staff, great food, great buzz!
I would recommend brunch here, a lovely varied menu. Great people watching opportunities too.
Portion size very small for price. Very slow service.
I eat in this restaurant fairly regularly and find the food delicious with a cosy, warm atmosphere.
I brought overseas friends here and was a little disappointed. One meal was outstanding while the other two were just ok. Not up to the usual standard.
Normally, when I am there all there is is the noise of people chatting but on this occasion music was so loud we had difficulty talking.
Great atmosphere here on a Sunday afternoon, staff we friendly and helpful. Great brunch menu which suited our tastes. Food was great - and service too! Will certainly be back again.
Always a great time & good food.
Unfortunately the service was very poor and our table couldn’t hear eachother or chat. It was my dads birthday and we wanted a special night but it was far from it. Really disappointed and the service was really slow and Forgot about us quite a lot. The pork belly was very fatty and the soup wasn’t great. I don’t think I’d be back or recommend it. Really sorry to give negative feedback.
Super food and good service. Pork dish and cheese board were stand out dishes. Great place to meet up with friends
The drinking glasses for the water were dirty. My friend found a hair in her food & my other friend found meat in her salad. We sent one dish back but didn’t mention the other incidents because we didn’t want to make a fuss. I’ve been before & really enjoyed the food although I always find the service challenging... it’s always difficult to get servers attention, but the food is usually good and good value for money. However this time was disappointing & embarrassing as my friends were in town for the weekend & I picked this restaurant but soon regretted it. Maybe they were just having a bad day ....
L’Gueuleton is consistently good. We went for brunch. The food is always delicious. The waiting staff are friendly and attentive. The cocktails are fantastic. Always great.
Food is nice but pricey for what it is. The lighting is so poor that all around us people were using the lights on their phones to read menus! Obvious that it is selling drink is main priority in this premises and once meal was over we were asked to move and blaring music meant we left. Not the lovely restaurant it once was. Now just another tourist late night drinking venue.
While the service was good, the food was over pricedI ordered the rack of lamb for 29 Euro and I got two very small chips. They were cold.
Haven’t been for ages; still as good as before but increasing noise from cocktail bar has moved it to a different (more buzzy) dining experience. Duck main dish was excellent; standard of cooking is better than some much higher priced venues.
Always a fabulous meal! Would recommend for lunch or dinner anytime.
I went to l'Gueuleton many years ago. The waiter was awfully impolite and frankly left a bad impression. I’m glad I gave it another try. When I booked I asked for a quiet table. I’m hard of hearing and sometimes most restaurants they don’t even entertain my request. The restaurant manager was very well determined to give me the best table and offered to try and change if needed. However, we ended up sitting outside as it was a lovely spring day. The food was amazing. My mind was blown away by the simplicity of the menu and the sophistication of flavours. I will go back. This has the best restaurant in Dublin right now.
Waiter was so rude it made for a very negative experience
I booked this table specifically for the great value early bird i’d Had there before only to be told they had stopped doing the early bird! My friends found their rib eye steak very fatty and the waiter didn’t even comment on this when my friend returned her plate with the steak barely eaten and at a cost of €31! The service was mediocre and it felt like no-one really cared.
Great atmospheric bistro in the heart of D2. We had lunch. Brilliant steak sandwich with frittes and garlic mayo, ant the plate de jour was wonderful duck, with a lovely glass of red wine. Service was OK, and the restaurant has a great buzz, and watching the foot traffic out the window in the heart of Dublin was terrific. Mix of tourists and locals set the scene.
Prices have gone up, menu pared back and food is no longer as good as it was. I had a mediocre lamb rump. Our server was extremely rude in pressuring us to leave at 8pm and, when booking slot there was no limit in terms of time. All around us were empty tables. He brought the bill down and stood at the table silently until we made payment. It was previously a favourite spot but no longer...
Lovely brunch menu, delicious. Great service. Cocktails were only ok and a bit pricey.
