Legasea combines a top-tier seafood menu with a fun-casual atmosphere for an entertaining dining experience that is to be expected from TAO Group. Executive Chef Jason Hall (formerly of Craft and Gotham Bar & Grill) and TAO Group Partner/Chef Ralph Scamardella have transformed classic seafood favorites, like the Clam Bake, into unique and shareable dishes designed for groups. Legasea is focused on its food offerings, serving up local, sustainable seafood of the highest quality, as well as delicious options for those not so marine-inclined, like the aptly named Steak Night. A lively, nautically-inspired setting brings the restaurant together to provide guests with an unforgettable evening full of good food and good company.

Lovely meal but our entree came less than five minutes after we ordered, so we felt a little rushed. Excellent food.

I had a chilled seafood appetizer that was wonderful and fresh. I had the seafood Fra Diovolo as my meal and it was very good.

The drinks and apple cider doughnut was great but the food was not the best. I barely ate it and i definitely was not taking it home. On the bright side our waiter was awesome and the ambience was amazing. I just wished for the amount of money i spent, my food should have been good. I wasnt the only table. The table next to us wasn't fond of their food either.

While Legasea’s food is good, service excellent (ask for Adam) the atmosphere was confusing. It’s brasserie vibe was not consistent with the loud uptempo music-or vice versa. Either way, the two did not seem to work together and it was hard to talk. I had the price fixe meal. The much heralded crab beignets were yummy. The Branzino was dry. But the chocolate pudding was delish. My husband had the flounder, which was good, not great.
All in all, a pleasant meal out in a warm and comfortable setting with decent food and really good service.

We were visiting New York City for the first time. It was Valentines dinner. Our only disappointment was they had offered one dollar oysters during happy hour. When we arrived and sat at our table we were told only the people sitting at the bar could have the one dollar special oysters we would have to pay full price at the table. That was disappointing and we did not understand why they would offer it only to people at the bar when their ad clearly stated it was

Second time eating here. the food is great - with very good choices for both meat and fish/seafood fans. Excellent appetizer selection and pastas. wonderful server who guided us through the menu and then recommended very good options. the restaurant was full and can get noisy but still a wonderful place and easy to get to.

Great food and good looking place, but noise level sucks here. Our server was great. But for some reason, there was a huge lag time on getting out our mains. Be prepared to spend at least $75pp. Ridiculous NYC.

Great choice for a restaurant near Penn Station which has typically been a restaurant wasteland. Really fun atmosphere...great choices for happy hour which you can also get if you are seated for dinner. Food was very good and a nice value.

Food is really good but we wish there was more room to move your arms to eat. Cramped and noisy, this was the only deterrent to legesea.

I have always come here for business lunch and for the most part it was pleasant. Not sure what happened this time, it took a long time for our food to come (almost 30-45 mins) and the busy excuse just doesn’t cut it as it just looks about the same to me.

I've been here a few times and the cuisine never disappoints. The only tiny issue is the noise level. Besides that, I LOVE this spot for the decor, the food and the service is fantastic.

Offered price fixed menu on Saturday. The food was excellent and so was the atmosphere. We would definitely revisit this restaurant.

We were visiting NYC for our 29th wedding anniversary. We had a packed day with Part 1 and 2 of Harry Potter on Broadway. We had a little time in between each show for a quick dinner. Our waiter was awesome. Extremely pleasant and worked with us as far as our time. I ordered Grilled Salmon which came with a small salad side on the plate. We ordered the Brussels sprouts side dish which were delicious. Dessert was the apple cider donut which hit the spot. Definitely would go back.

Nothing special by any means. A bit of arrogance from the hostess. A few desparate housewives from Jersey and mediocore cocktails.

For a special occassion, find someplace different that is genuinely more special.

I was here once before and food was outstanding. Most of it was great again this time, though not everyone in my party enjoyed their meals equally. The end of our evening was very nice with our server enthusiastically bringing a birthday dessert w candle to my Mother. But the overall service was sub par; we felt well attended to in the first few minutes and asked for a few minutes to settle in and decide on drinks. After that it just seemed to take an extremely long time for anyone to come by in terms of ordering, checking in on how the food is, ordering dessert. I or someone in my family has to actively flag a server down three different times during a meal in order to get attention after waiting a while which is not a good sign. It also was not so busy in your restaurant compared to other times. especially toward the end of our meal which lasted 3 hours. Every server and employee is entitled to an off day or be tired or have other things on their mind so I have no desire to see anyone affected directly by this review. Management of a large restaurant such as yours should ensure that all patrons and in my view, esp large parties are being well taken care of. Our restaurant week desserts arrived well before the others at the table who were ordering off that menu and timing was just off. Someone cleared the salt and pepper shakers and happy hour flyer off our table before we were done, as if we were overstaying our welcome. We were ready to go for sure at that point as it has been 3 hours due to the slow service. something was just off frankly.
