Le Relais de Venise - Soho (London)
A small selection of hand-picked wines accompany the meal and there is a selection of cheeses and a dessert list with profiteroles, meringue and other ice cream confections, all freshly made on the premises.
You always know what to expect. And you get it.
Just wish they didn't rush you as much.
Only the service was bad. We had to ask many time for the drinks, bread and the cheese plate.
Lovely lunch. Only criticism is the chairs were not comfortable. Would have preferred to sit at the banquette.
Great choice for pre/theatre is you like steak frites. The walnut salad for a starter is good, too. Been to location in Midtown NYC before and this was as good.
I loved the food! The atmosphere made me
feel like I was in France! Would definitely recommend and go back myself!
The family have a soft spot for this place from back when we lived in Paris. The quality of the steak was excellent with the delicious secrete sauce and the perfect French fries all washed down with the house red.
The food and staff is lovely! But the problem is the tables, wayyy too crowded dinner.
Was nice relaxed and great simple food
Great food & wine as always. The best proper steak frites!
Very happy very nice place
The food is ok, simple choice but you probably know what you’re getting when you go there. What I didn’t appreciate is how rushed you are. Brought the steak before we were done with the salad, brought a second serving of steak and fries before having finished the first serving etc.
I personally prefer to be able to take my time to eat...
They need to review the customer service. Wasn’t impressed at all, and I can say that I’m very easy going.
Excellent steak/wine/sticky toffee pudding. In a great setting.
We were there last Friday for our 4 year anniversary, as it was where we went on our first date, and whilst the food was good we felt very rushed with our food coming out too quick.
Le relai de Venise is a wonderful place with a lovely staff. The food is delicious! I visit it regularly and don’t plan to stop!
Food is always good but the tables are far too close to each other
Great food, but we were crammed into a tiny space and they rushed our eating
Someone recommended this place but it didn’t meet expectations.
The concept of only having only one starter and main on the menu is great but if you’re going to do that you have to make sure it’s the best starter and main you can possibly offer.
The service was the highlight of the meal.
It was ok but nothing great, left feeling disappointed. I wouldn’t waste your money going here. There’s a lot better places to eat.
Good service, well cooked food. Great value. Lovely desserts
Took my young son there as he wanted to try steak for the first time. No better place to do that than Le Relais de Venise. I used to go to the one in Paris. Easier to get a table in Soho and always delicious. Service a bit slow but nice and friendly staff. Overall I recommend it.
As always the service leaves something to be desired. The waitresses look like they are in little mood to work.
Very average, nothing more nothing less. I am not coming back.
Comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff and an enjoyable meal. No surprises.
Very nice simple dining experience
Due to the one meal option the food was outstanding.
9/10 for the experience. Great for a date night!
I went here on a sat for a casual birthday lunch with 2 friends as i had heard good things. We booked at table as this soho branch allows for bookings. The 3 course meal is value for money with a lovely mustard and walnut green salad to start, entrecote steak cooked to your liking given in a lovely sauce in two servings with the most amazing unlimited serving of french fries (didnt see dipping sauces in sight but dijon mustard on the table). I had the profiteroles which were lovely, although sauce could have been hot, they did however add a birthday candle which was a nice touch. The service is however slow and abrupt. All in all great steak frite in a cute and casual french restaurant.
Classic food as always, friendly staff and a lot of attention when we mentioned possible intolerances. One of my go to restaurants in London when I’m craving steak frites ... it’s all about the secret sauce!
Great atmosphere. Excellent meal. Food and wine were very good value for money. Attentive but not overwhelming staff. We will certainly return.
We were recommended a visit to this restaurant and we were definitely not disappointed. We will be back asap. The food was simply delicious and good value for London. We didn't have room for a desert but we have it on the best authority that these are also lovely!!! The only issue we had was that we couldn't understand the waitress - she spoke very quickly and it all sounded a bit scripted when she was trying to explain how the restaurant worked. The tables are extremely close together - if you needed the loo it might've been tricky to get out so be warned and go before you sit down! The restaurant has an old-fashioned charm about it which added to the simplicity of the menu and was refreshing amongst the other high tech, ultra modern, faceless chain restaurants that dominate the high street. Thank you......we can't wait to come back - I wish you would open one of these restaurants in York!!!!
Steak is not bad but definitely not good
Love this place, always great food quickly served.
Best steak every time, I go back again and again.
Menu is so basic . Green salad with pinch walnuts . Would have liked a bit of colour with even a tomato
Steak cooked to your liking served in two lots with a tasty peppery sauce served with skinny chips.
Basic - no garnish
If you don’t like steak not the place to be.
If you don’t like chips with your steak no alternative so healthy January out the window !!
I think the most basic kitchens should be able to offer at least 2 menu choices
But if it ain’t broken why fix it !!
Oh and staff training night so amusing watching the new girls handle serving with fork and spoon !!
More choice on dessert menu
Delicious as ever - introduced a friend who had never been to the restaurant and he was delighted with the food and the service. Had a splendid time and despite there being a time limit on the table for 2 we weren’t chased out at all. Going back with my mum when we go to see the Tutankhamen exhibition as she adores coming here. Loved being able to book - a simple concept executed very well
Great venue and for the price you pay, one of the best value steaks in town!
Had a great time as always at this place. Great food, no frills and amazing value. Look forward to the next visit
Great lunch at Entrecote and just the ticket on a winter's day. Salad a little limp, but steak and frites excellent (as ever) and cheese board very generous. Staff super friendly and efficient, and restaurant very cosy. Perfect for a pre-theatre lunch!
A friend told me about Le Relais de Venise so I decided to try.
The food was good but nothing exceptional coming from the unique main plate (steak/french fries). The deserts were quite normal but my friend ordered the chocolate moelleux which we suspect to be microwaved before service.
The place is nice and not too noisy. I don't think it will go again.
Just like the original in Paris!
The beef is juicy and the pommes frites amazing!
Very good the service, polite and organized the lady that served us.
Myself and my boyfriend had a great time, our meal was was nice we would 100% go back and recommend to friends and family.
Steak sauce was the highlight of the meal.. Cooked to your specification, fries were a bit too crispy and dry. Wine was okay, service was overly attention.
