Perfect experience every time! Design, ambiance, and food always on point here!! This chef takes pride in his presentation and makes you feel like “family” I will continue coming here and look forward to sharing this gem in dtla with all my friends!
This restaurant has a sharing menu, which we did not know before arriving.
The food was good, but they did not have enough serving spoons for the dishes
sliced for 4 people
Also we had to request the music be turned down. It was so loud, we couldn't have a conversation.
This is a common problem with many restaurants.
The wait staff were very nice and accommodating
Very limited menu and frankly the food was not commensurate with the price
We were delayed by traffic and had theater tickets. We explained our situation and everyone did what they could to make sure we made the show. The food was outstanding as well. We highly recommend Le Grand and they will definitely see us again!
This is our second experience at Le Grand and the second time the service was lacking. Our first experience was on a Saturday at the odd hour of 3-4 pm and no one came to the table for 15 minutes except to give us water. This second experience was prime time Friday. We took my partners colleague from Germany for dinner. First: The server was not able to explain the difference between the three beef dishes in a coherent manner. We ordered appetizers (bread and olives) and three entree. I also ordered a glass of wine. The appetizers were very good. Then my pasta came way ahead of the rib eye and chicken. We got three explanations: our kitchen is small, we serve family style, we course the food. If any of this is true, the server must ask / explain. “Will you be sharing?” “Do you want your entree at the same time” etc. And my wine never came. So I will say the food is quite good, no complaint there. If they do not get the service top notch, this restaurant will go the way of Coco Laurent and Tom George - out.
The food was delicious but we did not have a great experience. The two of us were sat at a small table and everything we ordered was served on oversized plates which crowded our table. Our entree was brought out first even before the bread or starters. When they put the first two items on the table we realized there was no room for the next items, which made us want to eat faster to help clear out the plates. This made us have a rushed experience and not enjoy our meal. The whole time we were talking about how our items were brought out in an odd order and why their plates were oversized. We paid too much to not have enjoyed our meal.
Good food, friendly service, love to share plates
Wish the music volume would have been turned down as requested
Great food and service. Very nyc feel to it
Beautifully decorated, amazing service, epic service and DELICIOUS food. The Mary's chicken enter is a slice of truffle heaven. The pasta Cece is soooo refreshingly creamy, which I didn't know existed! Strawberry rhubarb pavlova just changed my life.
I will be back very soon! So impressed!
Came here to celebrate my birthday. Overall I liked the place. We were greeted and seated promptly, staff is very friendly and helpful. It’s a spacious restaurant with a very elegant look. Food was great and tasty my favorite was the scallops dish and the cauliflower dish. Thankful for the great birthday experience.
Great food and service!!
Inventive and delicious meals. Wonderful service. Everything was great
Disappointed with the sub-par customer service from this restaurant.
They have a very good wine list but the champagne that we ordered was not even chilled at all, it was room temperature when our server opened it and we had to wait for it to be chilled for 30 minutes in an ice buckey AFTER opening it. Our server brought us wine glasses for the champagne and we had to ask her to bring us flutes. I was expecting way more from a restaurant like this.
Slow and unorganized service
Food very good but menu limited
Too many items for 2 to share. Very expensive all things considered
Great place, great food
I was in this restaurant first time with my son and his girlfriend and all of us were very disappointed with the food we got scalops which were very salty, fish /sea bass/very dry and taste of sauces was exactly like sauces from spagetti with meatballs. We also order plater with cheesess but the portions of cheese was very very small but the cost of the food are very high compare to quality of the food so that was our first and last time there and of course I won’t recomend this restaurant to anybody.
They charged $122 more than I signed for. and it is now 10 days after i complained and still no credit to my credit card.
Great place! Delicious food! Highly recommend
One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in awhile. They were gracious hosts, service was excellent, and the food was outstanding. Pro tip: Try their new gold flake & caviar oysters! 😍
Very nice staff. Food was very tasty! Interesting flavors
Pasta with truffles AMAZING!
Lovely restaurant and delicious food. Will definitely go back.
Tantalizing to the taste buds.
Hats off to the Manos brothers for a sensational journey through Mediterranian delights and a tender California rib eye.
One critique about the food;
There should be more focus on cooking, steaming the vegetables evenly. I found them either too soft or not cooked at all.
Cheers! Thank you for a once in a lifetime experience, a true culinary journey enhanced by a sparkling glass of french wine. Just wish I had room for desert!
Food is delicious, as are the drinks. Definitely pricey, but it met our expectations.
We were in a rush, but needed to grab a bite. The staff was very accommodating, and the food was great. We will definitely be going back.
Food was okay, overpriced for the taste. Salmon didn’t have much flavor, and scallops were nothing to write home about, but both were okay. We were not happy with the wines that were part of the wine flight. My date did not drink the three reds. The cocktails (we got the Green Goblin) tasted purely of jalapeños and was very difficult to drink.
I called prior to arriving to make sure they had my credit card information and would just charge me directly so I wouldn’t have to deal with the check with my date. They misplaced the information, so that was an unpleasant experience. Also, how do you just MISPLACE someone’s credit card information? That’s security threat to me now, so I might have to cancel my credit card and get a new one, which is a hassle for me.
The waiter came by every 10 minutes to check in on us. It was WAY too much, we were just trying to enjoy the meal. My date made a comment that it seemed like he was flirting with us, it was that bad.
Overall, a very subpar experience after paying over $200 for a meal.
The moment I walked into the restaurant I felt the ambience engulf me in a soothing way. It’s beautiful and the wait staff are of good demeanor as well. The food was not only delicious but also decorative in a way that was pleasing to the eye. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone dining in downtown Los Angeles! Superb!
The food was impeccable. We followed our waiter's suggestions and he led us to victory!
This is a sensational new hip restaurant: beautiful, fabulous food, attentive service. Two Greek brothers head this establishment and have created some wonderfully interesting and new takes on Mediterranean cuisine such as a watermelon touched Greek salad, a crusted spinach pie and many other delicious dishes.
Food was amazing. Presentation beautiful. Service was great.
overall experience was very nice, the food was outstanding. The service was very nice, friendly and attentive. The only thing that i would like to mention, the service was slightly rushed, even though the restaurant was not that busy. But we enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend this restaurant.
Ceviche was AMAZING AS WAS SCALLOP CARPACCIO! Beautiful cocktails and attentive service. Octopus was too salty. We sent back and chef agreed. I will try it again next time.
The food was very good but the music was too loud and frankly did not fit the ambience of the restaurant I found it very distracting
Food is absolutely delicious! Welcoming environment, friendly employees. Must go place
Great food and service. Was helped by Justin and Lauren who were both delightful, informative and attentive. Spanakopita and Greek salad with watermelon were fantastic. Atmosphere was upscale, trendy, with nice darker lighting.
I discovered this gem just after it opened. While I like variety in DTLA restaurants and there are many from which to choose, Le Grand is a wonderful restaurant at which to dine on any occasion especially before the LA PHIL, the Ahmanson Theater, the Rams or Dodgers. They have choices in every cuisine from vegetarian in Mediterranean or salads, fish, fowl or steak. Convenient parking is next door for $7.00 in the evenings.
The service is awesome; attentive but not intrusive. Cameron gets recognition for his dutiful execution and genuine interest in his customers. Very helpful for wine recommendations. Go here. You won't be disappointed. GZ
Service was terrible on so many levels which you wouldn't even get at a sub par casual restaurant that it ruined the dining experience even if the food was delicious. A long detailed review is on Yelp.
Nice ambiance great service and delicious food !! Will go back for sure ! The best truffle fettuccine!
