The tin ceiling and hardwood floors are restored, and the storied Garv’s Inn bar is rebuilt from scratch using reclaimed black walnut. A combination of high-top bar seating and lower tables help keep the atmosphere friendly to both families and those looking to join a date or friends for a night out.
Led by Executive Chef, Mark Downing, the menu is accessible but elevated. Items are priced from $6-$9 for shareable appetizers to entrées at around $14-$16. The Italian Beef Egg Roll, filled with Italian beef, giardiniera, spicy queso, Monterey jack cheese, and au jus dipping sauce is, in one customer’s words, “life changing.”
Great Sunday brunch menu! There were 4 in our group and we each ordered something different. Everyone enjoyed the food.
This was our first time eating at Lavergne's and we will definitely return! I liked the variety the menu offered The chipotle chicken tinga tacos were delicious! My husband had the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich and he thought it was very good. Drinks were spot on as well. My kids were happy with their kids meals too! This place was very busy on a Friday evening and I'm glad I made a reservation. I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time if possible. This is a great neighborhood location!
Great location and pub atmosphere. Place was hopping!
Friendly service and good food. Fish tacos and Cuban sandwich were very good. We had the brownie for dessert which was very good too!
Not your everyday pub burger - fun twists on classics- 6 of us enjoyed it all! Fun night!
Aside from there being an error on our bill, it was a great meal. Attentive service, tasty food and beer.
Quick efficient service. Tasty food! Even my parents were happy and well fed!
This is very family friendly and we are regulars at Laverne's! My children love eating dinner here, and the chef is always willing to modify meals from the regular menu to make it "picky eater" friendly for my kids. We love that we can support our neighborhood businesses. Food and cocktails are great! Wine choices not my favorites, but beer is great!
Great staff, good food and reasonably price drinks.
Oktoberfest menu is fun. Great beer. Big pretzel is delicious. ( with mustard & cheese). German Apple strudel with ice cream amazing. Good service. Right down the street from the fest
I would recommend because the food was good and the waiter was excellent. The issue I had was with our seating. I have been here before and I dread these tables in the back that no one ever wants. Well we got one of these tables. They are horrible and cramped. You cant fit into it comfortably and you are almost sitting on the back of the person behind you. We had 5 and the table behind us had 6 people and 2 very young kids. The people refused to move in their chairs because they were there first and the woman made snide comments about our size. The tension made for a very uncomfortable situation. We tried to have our table moved to a more open space and we were told a party of 25 was coming in so we couldn’t move. I understand you have to set up for the 25 pp, but they arrived as we were leaving and we were there for a good 90 min. Only because we had to wait for the people at the other table to leave so we could spread out, finally catch up with each other and talk. I wouldn’t recommend this brunch over 2 people due to the noise level and those tables are ridiculous. Also being cramped into a corner with no air conditioning was the topper for this visit, I had to fan myself with the menu. It did kick on 15 min. Before we left.
My hard to please vegan sister asked for her leftovers to be boxed. My corned beef skillet was superb. Service was attentive but unobtrusive.
I really want to support local businesses, but my last few times have been less than stellar at the restaurant. We were treated like we were having a favor bestowed on us for eating there. The food was ok, the service meh. This is quite a change from when they first opened.
All around great experience, would definitely go back.
We were with friends, and none will be returning due to the abysmal service. Other waiters had to step in twice, and this still left us wanting throughout our meal.
The staff is great, the food is taste and the drinks are bomb what else can you ask for.
The food was decent option for the area. The service needs to be tightened up. I have been there twice and its taken forever to get our order in including drinks (and this is bar so...come on). The wait staff didn't show up the last time when there were only 2 other guests in our section. Yet there were 10 people milling about that appeared to be employees. Seems ridiculous to have to walk over to the hostess to get served.
We enjoyed our evening at LaVergnes. Our waitress was very helpful and checked on us often to see if we needed anything.
The food was awesome. I had a most delicious steak salad while the others enjoyed their steak sandwiches.
The only downside to our visit was the noise level. It was ridiculous! There was a small baby shower in the other room and the table nearby was very loud!
I would come back however.
Had another great experience at Lavergne's. My wife and I treated my best friend and his wife to dinner there, and it did not disappoint. The appetizers were great, including buffalo wings that, while a little overcooked, were delicious with the sauce. The shishito peppers were good, as well as the Italian beef egg rolls. Then our entrees were just as good, with us trying the steak, a burger, the fish, and a chicken sandwich. We ordered a bottle of wine and enjoyed it all. Can't wait to go back.
took my girls there for the first time they loved it!! great service great food. a little too cold, but good times
Went for early dinner; service was prompt and professional; menu had great variety; nice wine selection. We had potstickers, lamb tacos and Laverne burger - all really, really good!
Very loud. Hard to even hear waiter. They did turn down music at our request.
It is my favorite place. Everyone that works there is amazing! The food is delicious and we always feel welcomed!
Great food and noisy enough to bring young kids with!
Always good food and good service
Went with my daughter, shares the avocado bruschetta which was outstanding!! Also had the warm brownie dessert which was fabolous!
Service takes forever, the food delivery is not timed, the servers are always in the weeds. Only go here if you want to have drinks.
The El Diablo was spicy; loved it. For Mother's Day it was a hit. The Food and Service was excellent. We had quite a bit of the menu to share. Everyone loved the food.
The WORST service I’ve ever received!! I made brunch reservations for 11 people over a week in advance for Saturday brunch. When we arrived we were told they no longer served brunch on Saturdays. When I asked when it changed the waitress said “Today”. They didn’t even offer us the option of ordering off the brunch menu, even for my young nephews or niece. The waitress only checked on us once and never cleared our dirty dishes from the table. She was extremely rude and handed me my bill without saying a word, as if I somehow offended her. She didn’t even come back to pick it up. I had to find someone to take it! Very disappointed at the poor level of service, including from management. They should have been much more accommodating or at least offered us some kind of discount. All we got was an insincere apology followed by poor service and a BAD attitude! We will NEVER eat here again!!!
I went for Brunch but the waitress said they no longer serve Brunch on Saturdays. I was very disappointment that's the reason I went for. They should update their Menu were it states they have brunch on Saturdays.
We had a reservation and were seated right away. Service was prompt & friendly. Atmosphere was loud, but hey it’s a bar. Eclectic crowd including families with children. A mixture of high tables and stand low tables as well as seating at the bar. They also have an outdoor seating area. The menu is inventive for the area but the food is just average in the end. We had the Italian beef egg rolls they arrived just out of the fryer - super hot. Great idea but the flavor was lacking. Fried asparagus was just average and the shaved cheese was low quality. Grilled magi magi tacos were good but they do not come with a side. Grilled cheese had really good bread but not a lot of bacon and low quality cheese, the cherry jam component just made it weird and ultimately ruined it. The pot roast meat was very tender and lean but no flavor and barely any gravy which would’ve helped. Vinegar based Cole slaw was good. Beer selection is good.
The brunch menu had a good variety of choices. The mango Bellini was perfect. It was very busy and loud, but staff was attentive. The table was missing salt and pepper, but helped ourselves. My niece loved her entree. Remarked about the roasted vegetables and how she was looking forward to having it for dinner as well.
I had the Benedict. It was tasty, but not remarkable
We stopped on the way to the Opera and were out in plenty of time to get to the performance.
Quick dinner before theater near by. Food was great, place was loud. The noise bothered me more than my husband.
Fun place to go! Great bar, food was excellent and drinks were well done. We will definitely be going back.
Love Lavergne’s so much! Don’t change a thing! Actually, maybe have a few more wine selections. I invited a friend to your establishment Friday and she doesn’t like the single Chardonnay selection on the menu. As many times as I’ve patronized your tavern I didn’t realize how small the wine list is. I know the focus is beer but some of us women only drink wine.
Other than that, you guys are awesome!
We frequent Lavergnes very often. Great food and great service, always!
Usually don't make a reservation but it was trivia and 3.12 night. Everyone is our group had a great time and the food was excellent, as always. Appetizers: Grilled Brie, Italian Beef Eggrolls, Buffalo Cheese Curds. Entrees: Steak Sandwich, Cheeseburger, Pasta, Sliders. Enjoyed the 312 specials including the rhubarb, which I would definitely order again.
Consistently great food and atmosphere!
Despite having to wait almost 1 hour after our reservation time to be seated, the food was awesome! There was a fundraiser going on that night, so we couldn't sit at the high table we reserved, and it was so loud we could barely hear each other. We did get some free appetizers and our server was super. I would go back, but I would actually call ahead of time to confirm the reservation.
Always love their food, but the Valentines special prime rib was to die for!
