Laurent at Café Royal
Laurent features an array of newly designed areas including booths and views of either elegant Regent Street or the grand hotel lobby with a spectacular Murano glass chandelier at the centre.
International influences are evident across the new menu where Laurent has combined his experiences to open a restaurant unlike anything he has done before. An open kitchen and grill offer the finest grilled meat and fish; whilst sushi masters prepare inventive sushi, sashimi and raw fish from the sushi bar.
The bar offers a wide selection of wines from both new and classic regions with a focus on the French 'regal regions', alongside cocktails and fine spirits.

Amazing service and delicious food! The restaurant had an incredible ambience and looked absolutely stunning. Definitely coming back.
Great Valentine’s Date the starters were the stars of the night!
Unfortunately, the champagne served was warm. Not coldish, but warm. Replaced with more warm champagne, and eventually replaced with a cold glass. Have not paid for it, but waited 15 minutes to chin chin for my birthday and valentines day. Not impressive. Waitress and manageress were apologetic enough but my date and bday was disappointing.
Four of us had the set meal (including a glass of Veuve Cliquot) which was absolutely outstanding as was the service. I think our waitress was called Maria who was warm and very efficient. The food was exceptional and the surroundings were beautiful. Would highly recommend.
We enjoyed the pre-theatre menu an the Laurent. The food was lovely and the service excellent. We will definitely return another time,
Great value for set menu - service was faultless.
We had the offer that was £26 2 courses with glass of champagne. Really good experience and very good value for money. Food was generous size and really taste.
Wow! Amazing from start to finish. While waiting for the other members of the party to arrive I was offered a tour of the various areas of the hotel by an enthusiastic member of staff called Bella who told me about the history of this amazing building. All the staff had a caring but not too instructive manner. Food was gorgeous and beautifully presented, proper bubbly for our meal deal. Can’t wait to go again.
This is the second time I have visited in a week. Superb food, ambience and service. We had the set menu and it was fantastic value for money. We shall be back.
Fantastic place, with an outstanding menu and staff.
The food is also incredible, complete wine list, recommend.
Lovely atmosphere, great food and great service.
Excellent service, wonderful food and nice ambience. Perfect fir romantic dinner. Well priced as well for standard of food. Special thanks to Sam the wine and beverage manager fir his attentive service
Amazing experience, good food and great stuff . I really recommend it . Thank you for the good time
From the first second till we left, it was outstanding. 5 star experience.
From the moment I walked to the moment I left, my experience tonight was absolutely amazing. The staff and their customer service was excellent and could not fault anything. They really looked after us and made sure me and my fiance had everything we needed. Definitely recommend to go here
Using the Opentable menu was the only way I could possibly have afforded to experience such an amazing place. Every aspect of the evening was outstanding.
Wonderful experience. Amazing food. Great service. They even gave us cushions to make us more comfortable. Would return.
Lovely space with excellent food and service. All agreed to go again with the current offer on open table.
High class restaurant, with beautifully presented and tasty food, at a very good price for the set menu offer (three courses and a glass of champagne for £29). A great place to entertain. The staff were very efficient, friendly and polite.
Beautiful restaurant overlooking Regent Street, completely soundproofed from all the external traffic noise.
Very welcoming and friendly staff.
A super menu with such a great variation of choice.
The sushi was the best we have eaten and the prawns as a main course were just sublime.
Absolutely a great restaurant and we are delighted to have made another reservation.
Lovely food & wonderful service. Be prepared to pay for a good bottle of wine but can't fault experience. Will be going again soon.
Restaurant looks amazing, food was delicious however the service let me down. We had a waitress who was super confused and we had to keep asking for our drinks etc.
Waiters were incredibly friendly and the food was amazing!
We loved our evening at Laurent. We had the set menu and every course was delicious, especially the chocolate dessert! Would definitely recommend and look forward to dining there again!
Incredible from start to finish ! The staff and service is incredible. The food is out of this world- perfectly cooked , nice portion size and perfectly presented ! Thank you for making my mum’s birthday special !!! 5/5
Food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Such a warm cosy atmosphere and comfortable seating. Would definitely go back again!
Very enjoyable meal. Excellent food and service. Thoroughly recommended.
Got a great deal on a 3 course meal including champagne. The food was excellent, the venue is stunning, the location was ideal. Salvador was our waiter and he was brilliant, polite, attentive and just what you want.
The place is stunning but chair was a little bit low and the food was pricey when I said to waitress that my daughter mashed potato tasted like old due to olive oil and not eating eat I gave my rice and she offered me to change it and give me one did not said that it wil be an extra charge! Anyway, my brother paid it all without any complaints, as far as I knew, if that's the case the restaurant will change it no extra charge.
I have a thing about being seated in a row of other diners - too close to have a private conversation. Also there’s a mismatch between the bench-seat and the table. I’m 6’4 and my chin was close to the table. The food was nice, but not special enough for me to want to go back. Portion sizes small, bill size: large. Lovely hotel with great history, but not a memorable or particularly special experience.
We went to Laurent Sunday night. We booked 2/3 course with a glass of champagne course but we realised we did not get the champagnes when we got home so we called them. The restaurant manager called us next day, apologised and offered us to come back the restaurant again, he sent an email and left his mobile number as well. To arrange the new booking we sent 2 emails and contacted his mobile but there has been no answer a week. We called Café Royal hotel instead and talked the Laurent restaurant manager who was a bit arrogant and being irritated for what we complained somehow. He offered us to come back to the restaurant as well but at this point we have already became uncomfortable so we asked refund the champagne cost and service charge (we ate so of course we did not ask the whole bill!!) but he denied immediately without any consideration. He promised us to send the invitation email and he didn’t in the end… We did not ask to get another visit which THEY offered first place and we absolutely not comfortable to go back the restaurant again after 5-6 times contact them, so basically it is sort of ripped off situation left in the end. It is only champagne and we did not intended to complain at first place but they made the situation worse with their own mistakes.
A few other things.
-The receptionist came to ask my name 4-5 times after they gave us seat, during dinner…, I am Japanese so not easy name perhaps but 4-5 times is too far. Take note if you do not have a good memory.
-It was a quiet night and 2 guys in sushi counter playing around slapping each other with kitchen towels… It is not nice to see in front of raw fishes…
-Food was okay, but leg of lamb we ordered was very chewy and we ordered breakfast tea which average tea bag not even loose tea costs more than 6 pound.
Overall, it is not professional at all and definitely not 5 star hotel restaurant quality. There are lots of nice places around the area we wouldn’t recommend to go there
Food on the whole was decent, slightly under seasoned on the cauliflower risotto but overall it was still a good meal. Staff on the whole was attentive and polite. Great ambience and was very good environment to have good conversations without being too loud on a Friday night.
Fantastic, restaurant, fantastic birthday lunch
We booked for the pre-theatre menu but this was not presented at our table when we arrived so had to specifically ask for this. Given that there were only 3 main course choices it was disappointing to be told that one of them was unavailable (Lamb). Other than this the evening was very pleasant and the service was impeccable
I booked the place for 2 to celebrity my friend's birthday. we arrived at 2pm. We like the decor, seat down, ordered our set menu, the set menu recently changed, so I have to mentioned about the Champaign. We eat happily. things get wrong when we want to have deserts. I asked desert menu 3 times, it is very useless if you think about the staffs just walk around and forget to bring the deserts menu twice. I paid the meals, then my friends suggested me to check the bills, I have over charged £20.25, so I have to talk to someone about the bills, then they correct the bills, inform me that the menu recently changed that is why the mistake been made. Guess this is one off then. often when you go to good restaurant if is special occasion, they always try to do something small, but thoughtful.
The service was exceptional and the food was really nice!
Great overall first experience, waitress was lovely and made good recommendations.
Food was incredible, service was absolutely amazing by Salvador and Chalene
While the restaurant offers a chic environment, with a view of Piccadilly Circus, it fails to not feel like a hotel restaurant, which is a downside for me.
Service was prompt and attentive. I ordered the scallops to start, that were cooked and seasoned perfectly. For my main dish, I ordered the Snake River sirloin (a type of American Wagyu), which was cooked to the right temperature. I liked it came with a garnish as in many high end steakhouses, the steak comes on its own.
I was however disappointed at the lack of knowledge of the menu by the staff; I had asked for a side dish to be explained to me, and they failed to inform it contained cheese (very relevant to a customer), so I had to send it back.
Overall, I am pleased with the experience, but I would recommend Laurent if you're looking to eat close to Piccadilly, and want an upscale restaurant. I would not go out of my way for it, as for the price range, there are more unique restaurants to experience.
Accueil et service parfait ( notre serveuse française était adorable)
Tout était très bon (petit bémol pour les épinards trop salés)
