Laurent at Café Royal
Laurent features an array of newly designed areas including booths and views of either elegant Regent Street or the grand hotel lobby with a spectacular Murano glass chandelier at the centre.
International influences are evident across the new menu where Laurent has combined his experiences to open a restaurant unlike anything he has done before. An open kitchen and grill offer the finest grilled meat and fish; whilst sushi masters prepare inventive sushi, sashimi and raw fish from the sushi bar.
The bar offers a wide selection of wines from both new and classic regions with a focus on the French 'regal regions', alongside cocktails and fine spirits.

Food on the whole was decent, slightly under seasoned on the cauliflower risotto but overall it was still a good meal. Staff on the whole was attentive and polite. Great ambience and was very good environment to have good conversations without being too loud on a Friday night.
Fantastic, restaurant, fantastic birthday lunch
We booked for the pre-theatre menu but this was not presented at our table when we arrived so had to specifically ask for this. Given that there were only 3 main course choices it was disappointing to be told that one of them was unavailable (Lamb). Other than this the evening was very pleasant and the service was impeccable
I booked the place for 2 to celebrity my friend's birthday. we arrived at 2pm. We like the decor, seat down, ordered our set menu, the set menu recently changed, so I have to mentioned about the Champaign. We eat happily. things get wrong when we want to have deserts. I asked desert menu 3 times, it is very useless if you think about the staffs just walk around and forget to bring the deserts menu twice. I paid the meals, then my friends suggested me to check the bills, I have over charged £20.25, so I have to talk to someone about the bills, then they correct the bills, inform me that the menu recently changed that is why the mistake been made. Guess this is one off then. often when you go to good restaurant if is special occasion, they always try to do something small, but thoughtful.
The service was exceptional and the food was really nice!
Great overall first experience, waitress was lovely and made good recommendations.
Food was incredible, service was absolutely amazing by Salvador and Chalene
While the restaurant offers a chic environment, with a view of Piccadilly Circus, it fails to not feel like a hotel restaurant, which is a downside for me.
Service was prompt and attentive. I ordered the scallops to start, that were cooked and seasoned perfectly. For my main dish, I ordered the Snake River sirloin (a type of American Wagyu), which was cooked to the right temperature. I liked it came with a garnish as in many high end steakhouses, the steak comes on its own.
I was however disappointed at the lack of knowledge of the menu by the staff; I had asked for a side dish to be explained to me, and they failed to inform it contained cheese (very relevant to a customer), so I had to send it back.
Overall, I am pleased with the experience, but I would recommend Laurent if you're looking to eat close to Piccadilly, and want an upscale restaurant. I would not go out of my way for it, as for the price range, there are more unique restaurants to experience.
Accueil et service parfait ( notre serveuse française était adorable)
Tout était très bon (petit bémol pour les épinards trop salés)
The food was truly terrible - served cold and seemed to be pre made. The lobster role - could barely see the lobster and the wagyu looked like a pile of minced beef.
Size of the Starter portion of beet salad was ridiculous.
Dover sole came with a dark brown sauce, not appetizing to look at. Should be served on the side or not at all.
Over all a disappointing experience
It was the perfect place to celebrate a quiet Christmas Eve with family. The food was very good, but the best part is surely the service.
Great food and good service, beautiful surroundings. Was a nice touch that they came out with a Happy Birthday plate with petit fours for my husband. Nice place for a special occasion. Seasonal set menu good value with Bellini. Would recommend.
Nice food and restaurant, however quite pricey. Sushi more expensive than novikov and sushi samba though, and not as nice. Grilled octopus was my favourite.
Excellent food, supercozy atmosphere. Serviceminded and friendly staff
Very nice Christmas nightout will be back.Lovely dinner and atmosphere.
Amazing food, service 👍👍👍👍
The location is amazing, the food is nice.
The french waiter who took care of us was a lovely young lady, she made everything even more special.
Fantastic food, great bread which looks like a giant Yorkshire pudding crossed with a croissant. Serves was slightly disappointing, waited for ages before getting served, then rushed to try and get us off the table. Great atmosphere, fragrant toilets but seats in diner are a little low. Overall the food wins! Drinks are pricey!
Ambience and setting beautiful, upon arrival the welcome and hosts greeting set the tone for what turned out to be a superb luncheon.
Opted for the festive set menu and cannot fault the food nor the service. All excellent and 2 days on still enthusing to others that they must try.
Had not eaten here before but will absolutely return.
What an amazing place - food fabulous and staff are great too! Will be back.
I had a wonderful time at Laurent at Cafe Royal, for my birthday. The service was amazing, the presentation of the food was well presented as were the drinks. I liked the little touch by putting the happy birthday message on my desert and the complimentary bottle of champagne which were thankful for. All in all the restaurant and food is lovely and the setting is very mature but modern at the same time. The rest of the hotel is also beautifully decorated. I think it is pricey but for the quality, taste and attention to detail you receive I was happy to pay the price.
Excellent service and food in a gorgeous location.. just right for Christmas.
Génial, service impeccable et des plats délicieux, un très bon moment.
Just really special and felt exclusive
We had the loveliest waitress on Friday night (we sat around 7:45 on table 9) , very welcoming and made the experience incredible, food was excellent however slightly over priced and the music didn’t match the atmosphere.
Great location, fantastic service and lovely staff, food ok, price not stupidly expensive but not cheap.
My visit a few days ago was my third trip to Lauren this year, it’s be 8me a tradition whenever I’m in London—a good place to meet friends.
This visit did not quite match the very level of food and service as the last two. These were not deal-killers just strange for a place like Laurent.
I downgraded a bit because of two unusual occurrences at a recent dinner with friends, but overall highly recommend Laurent. Really.
First of all, without even looking at the drinks menu, I ordered a glass of Prosecco as an aperitif. I enjoyed a Prosecco aperitif during my visits in January and May so did not consider this a radical act. The server returned to inform me Laurent no longer offered Prosecco by the glass. So I looked at the drinks menu and requested a peach Bellini, which is made with Prosecco. I asked the server to leave out the peach and just bring the Prosecco since I find fruity drinks unappealing. Next thing I know the actual bartender is kneeling next to me explaining he cannot do that because everything is tracked by computer. So I ordered a glass of champagne and was ready to move on. Except the bartender returned to tell me they had decided to serve me the Prosecco. Whatever.
Second issue was a simple reflection on a portion, I ordered the two-course prix fixe and enjoyed a lovely appetizer of three nice cubes of lightly-smoked salmon. I ordered grilled salmon for the main and was surprised when everyone at the table gasped to see a one square inch piece of salmon nestled on greens placed before me. Comments like “well, that’s a petite portion,” “maybe they forgot the rest” went around the table. Having already rocked the boat with the Prosecco I decided not to ask if this was a mistake. Instead everyone contributed bites of food.
Yes, I’ll be back to Laurent since it’s a London tradition among a small group of Americans and Brits. Just a couple of strange occurrences worth passing on.
We went there for my daughter’s birthday lunch. It was an unforgettable experience. The staff are friendly and attentive but not intrusive. The food was excellent. If you have a special occasion to celebrate please consider this excellent establishment.
A really nice place. We sat at the bar initially having cocktails. Nice decor. The restaurant was quiet. It was early evening. We had sushi and the burger which was very nice. Good service. Waiter was very welcoming as was the bartender.
Would definitely recommend it.
Excellent set menu, every dish was superb.
Booked a table for 9 ladies friends birthday but on arrival only tables for 6 available
This was quickly resolved
Set menu included Bellini but this wasn’t offered until we asked for these - would have been welcoming to have these once we’d sat down
Staff lovely, food good although only 3 options on set menu
We had a fabulous time as it’s such a special place
The ambiance was lovely, we went in early December and they did a beautiful job for Christmas. The staff were very friendly and attentive at all times. The food was presented beautifully and tasted amazing. I had the slow cooked beef cheek for main and it was unbelievable! The bill didn’t come to as much as we had thought either which was a lovely surprise. Will definitely be returning again!
The food was excellent. The manager was welcoming and very accommodating about a small blip in service. We would highly recommend for a relaxing lunch with plenty of ambience
The receptionist welcomed me by my full name straight away (fully aware of reservation), my pre-request was granted, the staff were truly professional, The food were excellent. We fully enjoyed the lunch in the beautiful atmosphere. Definitely come back in near future.
The chocolate tart was worth every calorie! Starters & mains good but more minimal than they used to be on the open table menu. Suited us fine but may leave big eaters still hungry. Staff professional as usual.
Absolutely one of the best restaurants I tried so far in London. Highly recommended. Dessert (Tarte Tatin) was simply the best I've ever had in my life.
Came for a birthday dinner and it was a wonderful experience. Had drinks at the bar and then we're sat for dinner. Service was excellent and the ambience makes you forget how busy and crazy it is right outside. The food was EXCELLENT.
Not really live atmosphere since not too many tables in the restaurant but overall everything was good, good quality food, service..
