Amazing dining experience. Strap yourself in and enjoy!
Everything was flawless and exceptional except our mains which we felt fell short in comparison to the amazing other courses which we loved. The wagyu was a bit powdery and was overpowered by the other ingredients and my fiancé had the duck which he felt was great except that the sides didn’t match the flavours. We don’t normally give feedback and our concerns are minor but thought it would be good for chefs to hear our thoughts. We still had a fabulous night and the service was incredible! We would definitely recommend!
Excellent sommelier, attentive, knowledgeable and helpful. Excellent service, friendly, attentive and caring. Standout dishes - nori tart, potato duchesse, truffle and mushroom, snapper. A little noisy. Good outlook to floodlit sculptures. Reputation is deserved. A great experience.
From the time we arrived to the time we left everything was excellent. Both the staff and the food outstanding. Looking forward to returning.
The food, the wine, the service, the view....absolutely magnificent ! Can't believe we haven't discovered you before !The very thoughtful gesture of the birthday cake and sending us home with a printed memento of exactly what we ate and drank ( which we would never have been able to remember ptherwise ) was the finishing touch to a truly wonderful experience. Thank you Laura for a taste sensation, we will be back to see you soon !
Amazing experience! From the minute we walked in our greeting was warm and genuine and after being seated the wonderful food and wine just kept coming. The staff were excellent very knowledgeable without being pretentious and made the day flow perfectly with little bits of information as we went along.
The food was without a doubt the star of the show however the wine matches were absolutely perfect for each dish and very enjoyable.
If you have a special occasion or would just like to experience what the ultimate fine dining experience as all about Laura is a must do!
Oh and the glass ware is just next level.
I enjoyed the fresh favour of the dishes and the enthusiastic interactive staff . Exceptional location!
The panoramic views through the glass is a good backdrop to the excellently planned set menu. With the highlight been the potato duchess. I loved that every course came with a lovely description of where the food came from.
Laura was more than exceptional.
The scene was beautiful with the architecture sculpture surrounding the building.
The service provided by Ainslie and her team was outstanding and professional yet personalized to our experience.
The food was scrumptious. We particularly love the fresh oyster with lager sauce and Hawkes Farm potato duchess, cauliflower, shiitake.
We got to stroll in the park with the complimentary ticket provided.
Great location and food. Most ingredients were sourced locally. Only downside was the cold and wet Melbourne weather
The staff were very helpful and friendly. We received some birthday cake as well, which was a lovely touch.
Where has Laura gone?
This was our second visit. Six months ago it was a fantastic and memorable experience but this time the food was very poor. Our duck dish was reheated and flavourless (and only 3 slim slices) and the desert (aside from being flavourless) had been sitting in the fridge for a few days. Last time it was wow and when can we go back. This time we left hungry and thinking we will not go back. For the cost you expect near perfection and food with flavour cooked to order.
Very pleasant experience. Could not fault it! Highly recommended!
Stunning venue, wonderful service, fine dining at its best, expensive ,however a memorable experience that was worth the cost for a special occasion
What a wonderful night, very friendly and informed staff, fine wine and delightful food
Hats off to the Chef Phil and his team
We really enjoyed our evening . This was our best meal ever.
Quality of food, innovation and service were all exemplary
It is a great restaurant with fantastic food, views and service but it is not the type of restaurant to which you bring a 2 month old baby which cried much of the the time. It spoilt an otherwise delightful dining experience
Great modern interior with amazing views of the sculpture park and the sea. An intimate yet open space with attentive and down to earth hospitality. One of the waitresses recommended some places to stop by on our way back to Melbourne. Great food — potato duchess was the highlight.
The food and paired drinks were perfectly scrumptious & offered delicate tasty flavours, presented beautifully. Wait staff were knowledgeable, friendly, efficient and respectful.
Ambiance was lovely, tasteful decor, and beautiful sculptural elements. The space, noise level & atmosphere were perfectly suited to conversation with your table guests. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Outstanding food, great wine list and a superb setting.
Wonderful food and spectacular view. Excellent service. The vegetarian degustation menu was incredible. Chef Wood is a genius!
We were vert excited to try Laura after a great experience at Point Leo restaurant. It is within easy drive from Melbourne and the wine tasting and sculpture garden are amazing. The food whilst inventive and adventurousness, could be a little bit hit and miss depending on your taste.
No not really we found the fish and Wagu were over cooked. We ate at Polperro the day before and in comparison Im afraid we would return there.
Laura provides a very special dining experience with all aspects of the experience at a high quality standard. We appreciated the focus on local produce and growers and seasonal food.
We would recommend Laura for a special celebration.
Excellent host and sommelier. We had one of the last sittings for the lunch time and had exceptional service. Did not feel rushed and were able to take our time and enjoy the view. The food was exceptional modern and we greatly enjoyed hearing about the locally sourced produce. The matching wines as well as the matching non alcoholic wines were perfectly selected with the meal. The detailed information on both the food and drinks we enjoyed greatly.
As a couple it was a lovely intimate setting with amazing views. Would love to visit again
Obviously Laura is amazing fine dining. Beautiful food, stunning scenery. Phil Wood is a genius, and you get to watch him cook while you enjoy eating his masterpieces. The prawn with passionfruit was definitely a stand out.
It is definitely expensive, and can easily get out of control when you start adding the oysters, caviar, cheese plate and matched wines. Is it worth the money? Yes, but only because of the entire fine dining experience that you get.
We had a fantastic night at this restaurant. The staff were friendly and very efficient. The food was quirky and delicious. Would not fault a thing.
We had an absolute magnificent Sunday lunch with very warming & knowledgeable staff who guided us through each course & wine we served . A wonderful day!
Great service. Decent food. Great for a romantic outing. Amazing view.
Dined at Laura, Point Leo Estate recently with friends on the occasion of a birthday. What a venue. The dramatic vehicle entry gate is only a small taste of things to come. A circular enclosed courtyard takes guests into the main space which comprises a large casual dining area and tasting room. To the right is the entry to Laura - also set with a huge expanse of towering windows looking out to Western Port Bay and Phillip Island. Over 60 huge sculptures are dotted throughout the expansive estate.
Being warmly welcomed into a restaurant is one thing, but to be so by Ainsley - who one of our group knew from another fine dining establishment - was a real surprise.
Guests are presented with a degustation menu and a comprehensive wine list. Dishes are carefully explained with a strong emphasis on local produce and each one is a delight to the eye and palate.
The service is outstanding and combined with the food, and the views, and the sculpture garden, visiting Laura is a complete experience to be strongly recommended.
A fantastic experience, one of the best meals I've had in a while. The service was excellent and the food and wine pairings exceptional!
Beautiful restaurant to spend a long lunch in, absolutely loved the food and experience and and wouldn't have changed a thing. The staff were attentive and friendly.
Stunning - could not fault the food or the service
Superb dining experience. Outstanding and innovative food. Perfectly matched wines. Friendly and very professional service.
Beautiful scenery! Laura is a gorgeous restaurant with fantastic service. Our wait-staff didn't skip a beat, super attentive and very accommodating. We had a table by the window and it gave us a perfect view of the surrounding sculptures.
Laura is located within beautiful Pt Leo Estate, the restaurant has a simple but modern design with high ceiling, comfortable seating spaces and the beautiful view of the sculpture park.
The food is amazing with fresh local ingredients, even my 10 years old loved it.
Service was professional but friendly, we felt very welcomed at the restaurant.
Absolutely exquisite food, service and view of the sculpture park. Loved the experience followed by wine tasting and walk around the park. Great to chat to the restaurant manager and the restaurant was quite quiet being a Friday afternoon. The only downside was a couple with a small child - not really what you want when you have travelled for a special $450 lunch, but no fault of the restaurant, just the selfish patrons. Staff did a good job of keeping everyone mostly happy!
We booked Mother’s Day lunch at Laura but from the moment we walk into Point Leo Estate, the warm welcoming experience began at reception and escorted to a glassed off dinning area.
Lunch was a set 5 course with optional add ons like fresh shucked oysters, Ossetra caviar and matching wines.
The food was delicious and not heavy. I also think it’s great how they use local produce. My favourite would have to be the Great Ocean Road Duck (Main) and Custard Fondant (Dessert). We didn’t do the matching wine but the 2017 Pinot Noir was lovely. We ended up buy two bottles to take home.
Staff are friendly and attentive but not stuffy. All very knowledgeable with food.
After lunch we wander the sculpture garden and enjoy complimentary wine tasting (normally $10 each pp)
Special thanks to all the staff for working on Mother’s Day, making us (and probably everyone) happy while you’re away from your families..
