Incredibly blah, from everything to food and ambiance and decor. Only value is the location.
Name makes it seem cooler than what it is - a low quality sports bar with bad food.
We were looking for a casual atmosphere. It was definitely very casual. There was shuffleboard in the dining area next to our table. Not ideal. The pool tables were in a separate area and so should have been the shuffleboard table. It was more like a clubhouse, but bare bones when it comes to ambience & interior design. It was almost as if they ran out of money to finish the space well.
I was very excited to try this place but was extremely disappointed within minutes. The service was poor and they weren't even busy. We were sat immediately but then had to wait at least 5 minutes to be greeted. Several wines and drinks were out. The food took forever and when it came out I was not impressed at all, there was no kale to be found in the kale salad and my medium rare steak was WELL done. After discussing my issues with the waiter, he never returned but was replaced with a very nice young woman but there was no communication. I had to ask the host for our check. It was an awful experience and the only thing that was good was the dessert.
I wouldn't recommend this restaurant unless you were staying at the hotel for the convenience. Too expensive and not worth the dollars.
Some of the items were excellent....the steak, crab cakes & flatbreads. Some items were not good...the chicken pot pie, and the corn chowder. The service was slow and disorganized. One of our orders was cooked incorrectly and the held it to correct the problem but didn’t inform us so we sat there for 30 minutes with our meals minus the one that was being corrected....it took forever for drink refills and to request the check.
Amazing service, local cuisine and atmosphere located in an incredible Resort. You must try the pot pie, flat breads, yohanan local chicken, ribs, and finish off with the 12 layer cake and doughnuts. Brilliant! -cheers
The food was delicious and properly portioned for a good appetite. The staff were very friendly and attentive. It was our anniversary and they congratulated us, plus provided a delicious complimentary chocolate cake slice.
Excellent food and service in a bery appealing, calm, friendly, classy and relaxed atmosphere at very acceptable prices
The very Recently introduced new menu looks very good Try and all dishes tried - Please call Moll crab cakes, steak bread and corn chowder -tasted great.
Great food and service. A bit pricey, but is located within a resort. Convenient for those staying at the resort.
THE APPETIZERS/ENTREES WERE GREAT. WANTED TO GET DESSERT (MILKSHAKE AND COOKIES) TO GO AND REPLACE MILKSHAKE ITEM WITH ADDITIONAL COOKIES. SEEMED AN INCONVENIENCE. WHEN IT DID FINALLY ARRIVE, THE COOKIES WERE VERY MUCH OVERCOOKED. ROCK HARD WITH BLACKENED BOTTOMS. WHEN SENT BACK AND ASKED TO BE CREDITED, THE WAIT STAFF SEEMED A BIT ANNOYED ABOUT THE UNUSUAL REQUEST AND THE REACTION TO THE BURNT COOKIES. OVERALL THOUGH, GOOD EXPERIENCE.
Slow service and appetizer, crab dip, was good. Otherwise food just ok. Had issues with getting separate checks for 5 or 6 couples.
Casual and cozy place if you're staying at the hotel. The food was okay, though 2/6 of our meals were not cooked correctly (they were overcooked burgers) and the service was horrible. It ended up being a 2 hour dinner because of the bad service and long delays and they didn't seem to even care the burgers were overcooked.
Food was delicious. Service was ok at beginning but as bar got busier, the table service declined significantly. Server brought bill before asking if we wanted dessert. Another server took the candle off our table as we were still eating. Clearly, they are interested more in racking up bar revenue.
Service was not great, it too a long time to even get drink order not to mention food even though the restaurant was not busy.
Great food and Service
For the cost, the experience was not as great as expected. We didn’t find a hostess when we walked in and were given mixed answers on how the seating works. I had also requested a vegetarian menu for the pre-fixe a few weeks in advance and the best they could do was pasta with boiled vegetables. For an upscale place, I expect a little more creativity that, especially since they had ample notice *and* this area has plenty of vegetarians!
Defiiitely not a place to have a Thanksgiving meal. Thanks De use for the recommendation 😕
Service was extremely slow. Food was just ok and very overpriced
We assumed we would be in the resort dining room. Instead we found ourselves in a bar with a number of TV screens. When we started dinner it was quiet. By the time we finished it was so noisy we could not hear each other talk.
The food was largely a disappointment. More bar fare that dining.
The ambiance is just so so compared to other venues but the food is OUTSTANDING!! I have had two of the best meals in recent memory at Coton and Rye. Each time I ordered the pork chop and each time I wasn't disappointed. To my memory the description was the same but the preparation was completely different. First time much more mustard, last night much more like sweet and tangy barbecue. Both amazing.
But it is the Jane Hamilton Hand Pie dessert that will keep me coming back. Eyes roll back good. Buttery, tangy, salty yet sweet. Warm and gooey with just enough crisp crust. Paired with vanilla ice cream. Perfect!
The hostess was very welcoming and attentive. Much appreciated.
Slow service. Overpriced food. I won't be going back.
I find that hotel restaurants often have poor service because they can survive without good service since they have a captive audience. When I looked at the website it looked like this restaurant was on the property but not in the hotel so I made a reservation. It is just off the hotel lobby. It took more than hour to get our dinner. Our server gave us very little attention throughout. My husband wanted another glass of wine but were ignored. Typical hotel restaurant.
Our server was very attentive. I have a food allergy, which sometimes makes eating out difficult. Our server spoke with the chef and provided me several options. The deviled egg appetizer and fish were delicious. Very good experience overall.
This was delicious. My expectations were low for a hotel restaurant but it was very tasty and the service was wonderful.
The service was good, the drinks were great, the food well not so great. Bland crab dip, bland sliders, chicken skewers were okay once you added blue cheese and hot sauce. We were staying at the resort which is why we ate there, next time we will drive to leesburg.
When we arrived at 7pm we were seating at a bar table, despite having a reservation for several weeks. The hostess was begrudgingly willing to move us but asked us if we thought we'd be done by 8:30, which was when the table was reserved for apparently... Overall the service was VERY SLOW - simply not enough staff to keep up with the crowd (which was worse bc the hotel had several events and all of the other dining options were closed so this was the only place you could go in the resort). My husband's side order veggie never came, so we had to have that taken off the check. I had a cracked water glass (large crack all the way across the glass). The dessert we order was ice cream, which came as a "kiddie" cup - tiny serving of ice cream served in an espresso cup along with a large soup spoon. Dig in! Also, because of the aforementioned closings, the crowd was large but was also forced to drink and eat outside in the lobby of the restaurant, which was also the lobby of the hotel. As a large echo-y area, it made the noise level deafening. Add on the guitar player and sports playing, the noise was just crazy.
Every bite of food was delicious! I had the porkchop. Yummy! Mustard was tangy, sweet and sharp. Perfect. Dinner companions loved their meals as well (crab cake, grouper). The hand pie dessert was outstanding!!!
Only knock is that decor is nothing much.
Treated us VERY well for our special occasion (60th birthday celebration).
The service here was very good but the food was just ok. The menu is pricey for an establishment that presents as an average hotel bar/restaurant. It is a small locale with a fireplace which a band was setting up to play at 8:30 p.m. I think this would have been way to loud for such a small place. We dined early.
Great - service was very friendly, attentive and efficient. Special touches for my son's birthday were very much appreciated.
Basically, a really nice bar with tables. Nine flat screen tv's, etc. Good if you want to eat in that atmosphere, but don't go out of the way for the food, although it is good.
Went with friends after a Savannah Music Festival Concert. All had a good time. Three of us tried three different cocktails and thoroughly enjoyed them. Everyone was enthusiastic about the french fries (huge portions, two orders satisfied 8 of us). Even though we were at a large table we could hear each other -- noise level festive but not overwhelming.
We were really disappointed with our experience here, we expected better given the resort and quality. The food was Bleh at best this night. There was a conference at the resort so the place got slammed and they were understaffed, maybe this was the issue. Our waitress worked very hard but had too much ground to cover, so service was lacking but it was not her fault she was running around crazy. My husband got the porkchop which was excellent, but that was the only good food at our table and the only reason I gave 2 stars vs 1. My friend got their house special turkey pot pie which we were really excited about but it had a spice in it that made it awful, very pungent. We couldn't pin point it but wow, I nearly spit it out when I tasted it. I got the honey lavender fried chicken which was nicely crisped but really blah, it needed a lot of salt and pepper at a minimum and was over cooked a bit. Too her credit the server recognized this and didn't charge us for this one.
We all got bacon, onion salads with ranch dressing which was ok, but weirdly not cut up (not a wedge salad but not cut up either). Ranch dressing was very tasty. The bacon was battered and fried pieces of Virginia ham. We ordered a side of potato hash that we didn't receive until we received our dessert and it was undercooked, the server apologized profusely. We felt bad because she truly was working so hard. We got the toffee bread pudding for dessert and it was just ok at best. We all left feeling unsatisfued, but just wanting to leave, except my husband who had the yummy pork chop. It was also so loud in there that you couldn't hear each other (we are in our 30s so we are used to loud in bars but this was really loud even by our standards). We really wanted to like this place because we are local and frequent the resort often, so was sad that we didn't. Hoping this was just an off night?
We had a great night at Cotin and Rye. The service was great, the drinks fantastic and the crab appetizer was awesome!
Went to see a musician perform on NYE. Very nice place and staff was friendly. A little pricey so we had dinner before hand and only ordered drinks and a bread basket. Wine and beer had decent prices, alcohol price was a surprise on my bill. While the restaurant is nice and accessible within the resort, the handicap parking for the resort was not friendly. Parking was not close and had I been in a wheelchair, I would have had to use the street to access the building. Maybe they should have offered free valet or parking on the circle.
Great food and service! This is a great place to take guests or out of town visitors. Landsdowne resort is beautiful and the restaurant is fun and everything we ate was delicious!
Ok food. Service was really slow. Drinks weren't good either. Wouldn't go back.
Excellent service, extremely helpful - my gluten free /dairy free dinner was delicious. The chef went out of his way to prepare a special meal for me. The waitress spent time making sure I could eat the proper foods for my dietary needs & the host checked on my husband & me to make sure Everything was just right. It was.
The only improvement would be if there was a TV free area.
Beautiful venue warm fireplace odd collection of upscale dining and pool table and game tables. Ala carte service with heavy hand of garlic . Sides were disappointing selection but quality of food good and service good. It was a high price meal - $40+ per person for entree with a side and dessert no wine. Tables by fire would have been perfect for long chats and good wine.
My first glass of Boen Pinot Noir.... Excellent surprise. The Brunswick Stew was also very pleasing.
Worst food we've ever had
