Great food and service
Always a wonderful time. Great service and excellent food. Never misses.
The most cramped I’ve ever been. Very noisy. But still fun.
Delicious as usual!
Excellent food and creative menu. The area where you entered could be a little less cluttered.
Always love this neighborhood place! Great food and wonderful staff always make you feel at home!
Dinner before a play
The place is great. The restaurant is on the smaller size, but the customer service is wonderful, and the food is amazing. The restaurant is BYOB, which is great keeps the bill inexpensive. The only downfall was that the restaurant does not have parking and the street parking is very congested. Overall, I love the place.
L’Angolo never disappoints. The food was amazing, and the service even better.
The place was perfect! Owner is so passionate about food and the customers get to enjoy the passion. Thanks for an amazing meal, our best in philly!
My 1st visit at this establishment the food was amazing! I will definitely return.
It was very warm in the restaurant with lots of small bugs flying around the tables and food. Small like fruit flies. Additionally I asked for candles to be added to dessert when making the reservation since we were celebrating my husband’s birthday and that didn’t happen. Why ask if there is something special going on if you’re not going to act on it. Been here before and everything was great however last night was definitely lacking.
Local gem. Once you walk by the kitchen and get to the dining area, you feel you're in Italy. BYOB The food is authentic Italian, not Americanized. Every item as well as the specials are made to perfection. I will be returning.
My favorite place in the city. Comfortable and cozy. Warm ambiance. Creative menu. Special requests about food preparation are welcomed and honored. Easy to get to from almost everywhere.
After concert At Kimmel center . Found out that restaurant was sold to long term employee. We have been going for many years and were NEVER disappointed. John , the employee who bought the business has taken this approximately 20 seat restaurant into something that feels like a Sunday family dinner in the kitchen of a home in “any town” Italy. We’ve been in Italy so I speak from experience.
EVERYTHING we ate for dinner was 5+ stars. John has the best people in the kitchen. The menu is different , but not far from the best Italian dishes I’ve had between Italy and south Philly.
DONT miss this authentic GEM of quality food , service and atmosphere. I may regret this review, why ?, because I’ll never get back in ! 😢
Wonderful authentic Philly Italian cusine
Very cozy little corner restaurant with terrific food and a very friendly staff. We look forward to returning!
Our waiter “Joe” was very helpful, kind and professional. He made the experience top notch. We will be back
Fantastic Italian food
Food was excellent. The back room was small and cozy.
This place is a treasure. Perfect place for a date, Sunday dinner, special occasion. The staff is always friendly and professional. Have never had a bad meal here. Save room for the dessert!
Great Night in Philadelphia the Octopus then the Lobster Ravs. Heaven
Always enjoy our dinner and John is the best!
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner outdoors at L'Angolo this weekend. Three of us enjoyed three different starters (all great!), two out of three entrees, and two shared desserts (both excellent, especially a perfect pumpkin cheesecake). A heat lamp kept us comfortable, and even though most of the action was indoors, we were well taken care of. The only reason for four stars rather than five was an extremely oversalted pork special that we did not enjoy. But that misstep did not diminish our enjoyment of the rest of the meal, and we are eager to return.
Great dinner as always! Best italian food in the city and exceptional service - try the octopus appetizer!
Wonderful and interesting menu. Truly a restaurant I would go back to
This South Philly neighborhod restaurant is a gem. The flavors are amazing. Service is splendid. Ambience: straight from a small town in southern Italy. It's small, so don't just drop in with a reservation.
Squisito as always. This place is my favorite italian in the city. Everything is great...gnocchi, grilled seafood, Osso Buco, pasta. Never had anything I didn't like and its BYOB. If you haven't been, do it. You won't be disappointed.
On arrival we were seated immediately at a table for four in the back room very quiet and comfortable. Our server was John P. and he was excellent, never rushed us and was extremely knowledgeable of the specials and the regular menu. Enjoyed a excellent meal. A great dining experience.
Everything from appetizers to main courses were fantastic. The food was hot when served. The pasta is all homemade. The staff is attentive and pleasant. Overall great experience
I hate to rave about this for fear that I won’t get a seat in the future! This is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in Philadelphia. Between the food, the attentive service, and the atmosphere, it is a go-to in South Philly.
Absolutely wonderful. We celebrated my birthday with an outdoor table on a beautiful night and the food was some of the best I've had in a long time. The specials were especially good but so was a menu item (spaghettia alla scolio). The service was great as well. Highly recommend this place!
Everything about this place was amazing. Food was so delicious, service was incredible, the owner is extremely nice and so friendly. I would definitely recommend this place 100%!
Great spot to have dinner before a game. I didn’t realize it was BYOB so waiter had some Chianti sent our way. Seafood pasta was excellent!
Food was outstanding especially the lobster ravioli and the pork chop. Service was excellent.
Last night my family and I had a delightful experience for my birthday dinner. Our reservations were at 8pm and there were only four other diners in the entire restaurants, so not only did we feel Covid-safe, but it was so wonderfully quiet as well.
After having read most of the reviews on OpenTable, we too were charmed by Johnny, the long-time waiter who purchased the restaurant from the original owners right before the pandemic shutdown in February 2019.
Johnny is warm, animated, cheerful, professional and a skilled host. He made us feel as if he were in his home. The junior server and server were also gracious, more so than any other serving experience I have encountered in quite a long time.
We started with mussels in white and grilled calamari, which were delicious. Then Johnny sent over funghi al forno, mushrooms baked in the oven, topped melted fontina cheese. It was delicioso!
For the dinner entrees, two of us ordered the home-made tagliatelle with mushrooms and shrimp, one ordered the ricotta gnocchi in a cream sauce with shrimp, and my husband ordered spaghetti in fresh tomato gravy and homemade braciole with fresh sage, prosciutto and smoked mozzarella.
We ended the meal sharing one slice of the decadent chocolate torte, which tasted more like a cake version of chocolate mousse. It was dense, rich, dark and delicious!
I highly recommend L'Angolo - it is cozy and cute with a sweet ambiance, and your taste buds will be knocked out!
EVERYONE DID AN AMAZING JOB AND WORKED PERFECT TOGETHER.
This is my new favorite restaurant. Plan on returning many, many times in the future.
Wonderful authentic food and service!
