Hand carved prime rib in Dallas! 🥩 I visited Landmark inside the historic Warwick Melrose recently to fill my prime rib void. Now I’m no stranger to prime rib but this definitely no buffet prime rib. I love seeing an old school prime rib cart and it’s served with all the favorites like mashed potatoes, salad, au jus, and horse radish (ya gotta have it) but they also have some other great items! Landmark changed the menu. Hence, our expectations for dinner (attributable to many prior visits), were unmet at best. Popular items have been completely removed, from the menu, e.g., Ceasar Salad; Sea Bass. The service remained very good, and the ambiance/noise level is to our liking. The music is not too loud as to be annoying, but some of the song selections seem out of place for a restaurant like Landmark. Nevertheless, we dine out for the FOOD, while the other attributes have limited influence. Changing the menu, at least for me and my wife, was a really bad idea.

We stayed at the Melrose hotel and decided to have dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant Landmark. We received excellent service from everyone in the restaurant. Loved the background music and the classy attention to detail from the butter knives (who ever gives butter knives these days), cohesive waitstaff team, coffee pots at the table, …. Wanted to call out Dustin for his attentiveness during our dinner. The food was wonderful for dinner and breakfast. This is the kind of restaurant we would eat at even if we were not staying in the hotel. Given that the Hotel is just as good as the restaurant we will be dining and staying at this location during our stays in Dallas.

The service was terrible. 20 minutes to get a glass of wine after others received their cocktails. Never came back to table after initial order to check on us. We left before dessert even though we paid for it. Really sad since food was good and it wasn’t busy.
