Lovely wine, delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere. Belinda and Michael were gracious and welcoming hosts, and the service was warm and attentive. Highly recommended, + we've joined the wine club!
Beautiful setting, delicious food, charming hosts Belinda & Michael who are both so efficient & helpful. It's our favourite restaurant in the area & we will keep going back!!
We were lucky with a warm sunny Autumn day, so everyone was dining outside. The view of the lake throughout the river gums completed the ambiance.
The entrees were excellent, but the main (a home style Lamb pie) didn’t quite follow suit. Deserts were also very good and matched with estate wines was a big plus!
What a great find, we were seated outside on a glorious sunny day overlooking the water.
We enjoyed the 3 course menu with matched wines and absolutely loved it.
Afterwards we enjoyed a wine tasting and were very impressed so joined their VIP club so look forward to receiving many more wines in the future
Fabulous food and friendly service - highly recommended
We shared the seafood entree omg absolutely beautiful!!
Salmon w eel for main the same beautiful and well matched w wine
A most friendly relaxed destination, especially for outside dining.
Wonderful staff, food and wines.
Also love the dogs.
Well. We were impressed. From arrival, to cellar door, to dining. The wines, the food, the produce, the knowledge, the ambience. Is there better? It’s right at the top!
Beautiful ambiance, table overlooking the vast lake/wetlands. Food, Melbourne high end quality and their own wines were reasonable price wise and quality. Resident doggies add to the relaxed atmosphere, highly recommend.
Amazing food and location relaxed and puppy friendly !!
Excellent food and location. Lovely staff. Great wine.
Had lunch here on Friday in spectacular weather, together with my partner and dog. We were made most welcome by the folks here and their dogs in kind. The outlook from our shaded outdoor table was magnificent, outshone only by the food, which was some of the best I've ever had. From the complimentary bread rolls and olives, to our entrees (I had the venison, he had the octopus) and mains (estate lamb / wagu). The presentation of all dishes was gorgeous; I'm not one to take photos of my food when eating out, but had to make an exception for these. We greatly enjoyed the 2016 Shiraz Cabernet with both courses.
I can't really think of what more to say to accurately describe just how special this place is. I could have happily sat drinking wine in the warm dappled light and looking at the view for hours. My only regret was being designated driver!
beautifull day so eat outside and except for the constant chatter at the adjacent table it was a perfect lunch.
Great views-staff very welcoming and helpful. Some great wines.
Knowledgeable, fun and friendly wine tasting experience followed by a casual but memorable meal. One of Rutherglen's hidden secrets.
Great spot for lunch or dinner on a summers days
A picturesque spot under a shady tree next to the lake was a perfect setting for a special lunch with friends. Our wine tasting was a great start, followed by an excellent 3 course meal and beautiful wine. We felt very welcome and relaxed with the easy-going and informative hosts. It was a fun day.
Gorgeous outdoor setting for some truly excellent dining. Inside was such a nice spot for the wine tasting - wines really yummy & owners happy to share their knowledge (by the way, yummy is my terminology, their wine notes were more descriptive!) Signed up immediately for membership and a purchase of 6 bottles to take away. Venison, waygu beef, fresh seafood and matching wines, great, friendly staff - whats not to love!
A wonderful dining experience. Highly recommended.
Country style relaxation. Don’t go if you are in a hurry but if you are not enjoy the country style and ambience and great food. We went for a walk along Lake Moodemere shore afterwards. All in all a very good experience.
We had a delicious two course lunch sat overlooking the lake right next to the edge of the bank. From our arrival we were made to feel very much at ease, Oliver welcomed us and took care in explaining our dining options whilst making sure we were happy with all aspects of our experience.
The ambience was perfect (it was quiet and peaceful even when more guests arrived) and the food exceeded expectations.
As a spot for quality food, locally sourced and presented beautifully, accompanied with a great selection of wines it would be hard to find a better alternative.
Amazing place , would highly recommend. Food was delicious and staff very friendly. Loved the overall experience
We had a fantastic experience at Lake Moodemere. Oliver was a great host and made us feel well looked after. The location is second to none.
Delicious food, attentive staff and a nice atmosphere. Can't ask for more than that. Well done!
Absolutely beautiful surroundings and food was amazing, throughly recommend. Wines were also amazing
It's the second time we've eaten at Lake Moodemere and it won't be the last. Beautiful food in a beautiful setting, you can't ask for more.
The flies were a bit friendly and the matching wines were finished before the courses arrived however that didn’t impact our overall experience. Food was AMAZING , great service, beautiful atmosphere. I’ll definitely return
A wonderful gastronomic experience. Food paired with wine is a match made in heaven.
Beautiful setting, delicious food, excellent service, great wine = a wonderful experience at Lake Moodemere Estate.
Food outstanding, great views & authentic country dining experience.
Sitting outside was fantastic. The food this time was ok - nothing to write home about. Service can be improved with providing cutleries with mains rather than asking for it. Wines can also be served on time -our entree wines came after the eal was finished and had to ask for it.
Attractive rural setting. Staff friendly , knowledgeable & welcoming. Would recommend Pork with black pudding . Wagyu steak cooked to perfection, as were vegetables. Side of crispy roast potatoes were delicious.
Wonderful food. Loved the use of herbs and spices. The crunchy potato and skins and were to die for (as a side order). Kangaroo tail soo tender. Good pairing of wines with the courses. Perfect chocolate pave desert rich chocolate great textures and not too sweet.
Excellent table service - nothing too much trouble - and I AM a bit fussy.
Afterwards we had the wine tasting and bought some to take home.
Unbeatable outdoor setting allowed to take a very long time over the meal without feeling rushed.
The whole afternoon was exceptional the service was first class as was the food
Perfect food with a perfect atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back.
We had the 5 course menu it was delicious with great wine
Sat outside under the beautiful old tree would highly recommend for a dining experience
Have also added a 2 and 3 course menu for patrons
We enjoyed a nice quiet Birthday celebration at Lake Moodemere Winery, this has now become something of an annual tradition.
We decided on The Chefs 5 course selection. We could not have chosen better, all 5 courses, plus complimentary exceeded our expectations.
Our congratulations to the Chef.
Great quite place, great intimate service, food was very good but not worth the set meal prices.
Great atmosphere outside in the garden. The service and meal was outstanding, compliments to the chef and Oliver. Was a great lunch. Also enjoyed the tastings with Michael in the cellar door.
We were a group of 6 and really enjoyed the setting on the grass. The quality and presentation of the food was excellent, however the menu structure and offering was extremely limiting. It's a 2 course menu, with some small starters and cheese which are at an additional cost. There are only 4 entrees, 4 mains, 2 deserts to choose from but they won't allow you to swap an entree for one of the starters. 4 in four group couldn't find things we actually liked but would have happily swapped a starter for an entree (surely this costs them less and we were still happy to pay the set price) or a desert for the cheese. When we asked the waitress, we were told in no uncertain terms that the menu was in their opinion "extensive" and no changes were permitted!! The service was very slow. Only one of us selected an entree and the rest of us waited for food for 2 hours not being served until 2pm. Totally unacceptable.
