The Lakehouse is a beautiful place to enjoy a meal for a special occasion.
The venue is located on a beautiful property with lovely gardens and views of a lake.
It is decorated well when ch makes it very warm and inviting.
The wait staff are very professional and attentive.
The food is exceptional. Fantastic quality, very fresh and full of flavor. It is clear a lot of thought and effort goes into every ingredient and dish.
The wine list is extensive.
We had dinner at The Lake House several years ago as part of a large group and had a wonderful evening. We decided to go back as a couple and were once again delighted by the experience.
The food was very tasty and beautifully presented. Delicious seasonal produce that was prepared with culinary expertise. The service was impeccable in a room that was full of charm and character. The nearby fire provided comfort on a chilly evening.
The ultimate dining experience. Highly recommend.
Great atmosphere, great service, good food. We were disappointed in. the wine matching.
The food and service were amazing. A beautiful setting for a beautiful lunch
The food was excellent but we weren’t made to feel welcome because we had arrived 4 minutes prior to our booking time of 6:00 pm. Apparently the staff were not ready for service!
As want to be foodies if you like, we have had ‘The Lakehouse’ on our list of must do’s, and it ticked all our boxes, from variety, to tantalising our taste buds from start to finish and as for the service it was professional, attentive and very engaging.
A highlight for us was maybe a one off, but one that we will remember and that was to be greeted by the lady behind ‘The Lakehouse’ Alla herself. It was seriously like being welcomed by a friend into her home for a meal.
Thank you to everyone
The food here was excellent. A great range of dishes to choose from. Portion sizes were larger then standard fine dining which meant we could only fit in 3 courses when we had every intention of doing the 4 course menu. The dining area was warm and toasty on a cold evening. The staff were very attentive without being in your space and service was second to none.
We always dine at the Lake House Restaurant whenever we visit Daylesford. Food at the Restaurant is always fabulous. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch yesterday.
Have dined here several times before and have always enjoyed it immensely. This time I was dining on my own but the experience was just as memorable, the staff made me feel it wasn’t unusual for someone to be dining alone. I was told to help myself to the Library if I would like to, browsed a wonderful book on wellness whilst enjoying a superb meal.
The service was a let down. I had to follow up questions I asked to the waiter. Also, I informed them that my Balmain bug didn't have the charred cabbage wrapped and they had to return to the kitchen more than 3 times to confirm. At no point did they apologise or take my dish away to show the kitchen, instead the waitress chose not to come back to me when she said she'd go back and ask. They offered to put cabbage on the side (like seaweed on the side of a sushi roll)!
We had such a wonderful and memorable time at the Lake House, it just really ticked off all the boxes. If you’re looking for a romantic place to celebrate a special occasion, the Lake House is perfect. The food was delicious and generous for this type of restaurant. I also loved the fact that we got to choose whether we wanted “a la carte” or the set courses option. I was also lucky enough to feed the cutest kookaburras! Service was fantastic. I would highly recommended this to anyone.
A memorable meal slightly spoilt by the staff dressing tables around us while we were still eating.
Excellent dining experience
Celebrating various milestones with friends (10 & 30 year wedding anniversaries & a birthday) we needed a special location - and this has always been on our collective bucket list - did not disappoint at all. Given one of our party is a severe coeliac - advanced notice was given and they catered admirably.
I really love the vibe of the restaurant and that the staff are very professional and obviously used to working in top restaurants. The food is special being unusual and everything a taste sensation. For me, a special occasion restaurant.
Exactly what we have come to expect after many happy meals. We shall return!
Lovely ambience looking over the lake and a beautiful dining room adorned with gorgeous flowers. The meal is very high PAUL it’s with wonderful produce, much locally sourced. A special occasion din8ng destination that delivers on its promise
The Lake house is a two hatted restaurant so we were expecting something exceptional. The service was great in general but the wine ordered wasn't cold and took some time, then still served slightly warm. Staff failed to recognise it was a special occasion or remember to deduct voucher credits from the bill. Most disappointingly no staff asked us how our meal was. The first course was exceptional, well presented and delicious. Mains were good but far from memorable.
From the time we walked in the door we were pleasantly greeted and shown to our special table. Service, explanation of menu and attention was exceptional.
Dry duck and Barramundi was the best of all we've had for lunch.
Beautiful way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
We had the 8 course tasting menu, which was divine. Each course was immaculately presented, delicious and of the highest quality.
Wine list extensive and the service fabulous.
Highly recommend to anyone looking to share something special with someone special.
The menu was extensive but not too much and the variety was perfect.
This was by far the best meal I have ever had. The wait staff and sommelier were exceptional - helpful, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was truly spectacular. A beautiful setting for a special occasion.
This is in my top 3 places in and around melbourne to go for a special celebration. The food wine and atmosphere is excellent. This time round the tomato and beef tartare starters were even a level above what I've come to expect.
Firstly the views of the lake , the restaurant itself with gorgeous decor etc, the food and the service both exceptional .
Perfect for a special occasion .
The staffs were attentive and lovely. We were given the best spot by the window after revealing it was an anniversary celebration. Food top notch.
The issue we often find with "star" restaurants is that our expectations are sky high when we enter & if these are not met then we are somewhat disappointed. This was the case here at the Lake House. To be fair, this disappointment was exacerbated by the fact we dined here after spending the previous week in Melb sampling some outstanding dining experiences
Unsure why we were disappointed, the food & service were no doubt well above par. Maybe it felt a bit too much "fine dining" by numbers.
This was the 2nd time we've eaten here. Both times to celebrate our anniversary.
The service is impeccable, the views are gorgeous, the decor is elegant and stylish and the food is beautifully presented and delicious. The little bread cob, still warm from the oven brought to the table is mouth-wateringly delicious.
We still think of Lake House Restaurant as one of the best places we've eaten and will return again.
Each tasting dish was a work of art and each mouthful was delicious.
A beautiful setting with attentive service. Excellent food matched with delicious wines. Taken on a thorough culinary journey. Thank you.
A lovely setting and great ambience as you walked into the restaurant. The food was delicious and beautifully presented and all the inclusions that came with the 2 courses ie zucchini baba ganouch with chips to start the mixed salad, beautiful individual sourdough loaf and the sweet indulgences and coffee at the end made it affordable. Had the most delicious Pinot Grigio from the King Valley. Expectations were high but the Lake House did not disappoint.
Loved the flavours and presentation of the food. A really lovely place. Most people might find it expensive because the portions are not huge but it’s not when your meal is as good as this.
Exceptional service and food. Highly recommended
Had the tasting menu which was amazing, it just kept getting better and better. Staff were friendly and very attentive. All in all, a wonderful experience for the last night of our honeymoon. Thanks guys, we'll be back for our 1st wedding anniversary next year.
An exceptional experience. We absolutely loved it. We went based on the Two Hats as a recommendation and were not disappointed.
Wonderful end to a fantastic weekend in Daylesford, top notch. Would absolutely recommend to anyone that enjoys top quality food, wine and ambience and attentive and friendly service.
Excellent service, wonderful foods and wine. Coffee outside on the terrace a perfect finish.
The dessert was amazing especially “The Apple” brings cool comfort to us.
Always beautiful. Food incredible. Service impeccable.
We liked the sound of all the dishes on the menu and found it hard to choose so went with the tasting menu, highly recommended. The wait staff were very professional but also extremely friendly which suits us as we hate to feel that we are being “served”. Enjoyed having our coffees in the library, nice place to relax and digest our meal.
