La Strada Ristorante
We always have a wonderful experience at La Strada. The servers and assistants are always friendly and genteel. I love the white linens and table settings.
The wine is always served ASAP which my husband is grateful for and of course the food is delicious with specials that are in season. All the meals are thoughtfully presented (or plated) even the bread and olive appetizer.
Such a great restaurant! Excellent food and specials, and superb service. Everything we ordered was perfect. And no dish over $30!! Don't forget to ask about bananas flambe. It is NOT on the menu, but they'll make it at your table if requested (for the same price as all the other desserts). Can't wait to go back!
Food is usually great...last night was not. When I asked for no seasoning....salt or pepper..the chef did not comply or the waiter may not have captured it.
Last minute reservation. Seated immediately and a very friendly server. Great food and great service.
Food and atmosphere like you're in Italy!! Unbelievably good!
Our favorite place ... great food and service
LaStrada never disappoints
Great food and service!
The service was amazing. We have 3 kids with very different and different food choices and each of them loved their food. My fiancé and myself enjoyed our meals as well. As a family of five, I want to thank the staff for such an enjoyable evening. They made my birthday stress free and the atmosphere even tamed my little ones.
The reason I would not recommend LaStrada's restaurant is that I've had the same quality of food at other restaurants for a lot less $$$$. Way too expensive.
To be fair, the restaurant was absolutely slammed for the Saturday after Valentines Day. But it really doesn't excuse our experience. In fact, out of the 7 tables around us, 5 left without eating.
I'll try to keep this to a brief timeline: arrived at our reservation time and sat immediately. 20 minutes after sitting, we received our menus. 40 minutes we get our drink order taken, we insist on ordering our meals. 45 minutes in we get our salads (awesome!). 60 minutes we're ready for another drink, no waiter to be found. We say screw it, head to the bar. Now, the bartender was amazing, and nearly, singlehandedly, saved the night. She found out we were at a table waiting on food and promptly comped our round, even made me a mocktail as I don't drink! Fantastic. 75 minutes in, we flag our waiter down to ask for bread we never received initially. Turns out this was a great call as we likely would've starved otherwise. 90 minutes in, waiter comes back and asked how I wanted my steak (again). Med-rare, as I ordered sirloin tips on risotto. 100 minutes, we were asked if we got our salads yet. 120 minutes in, the bartender comes back to check on us, is shocked that we haven't received our food yet and goes to yell at the kitchen. Would've been nice if our waiter had given us this support or attention. 140 minutes in, we're assured our food is finally being prepped. 160 minutes in, we receive our orders. The food was clearly rushed, and overall poor. My sirloin tips resembled what you find in a diner cheese steak. We were starving, though, so the food was devoured. We would've gone someplace else for dessert, but everywhere was likely closed or closing as it was approaching 11pm. The cheesecake was crumbly, dry, and not at all creamy. Not at all what we had hoped for for a $120 dinner for 2. I seriously doubt we will ever return.
The service was good except our waiter never introduced himself. Very important to do this. We loved that a salad came with each entrée!
We came to this restaurant as we were told that they have a great bananas foster. When we asked for the dessert menu we did not see it or anything like it on the dessert we decided not to order dessert. As we were leaving we noticed a couple getting a homemade dessert made tableside and when I asked our waiter what it was he said that it was bananas flambé. I said that we didn't see it on the menu and all he said was 'yes, it's not on the menu' with no explanation. So, for service, I have to give it only 3 stars and may not come back again.
Sat next to the waiters table, waiter didn’t even read the full special menu , food was cold on the inside, Valet has 0 personality bit of a smug look on his face and didn’t even attempt to open the door for me or my wife. Probably won’t go back there again. Hopefully service will change for anyone else wanting to venture out to a $90 night and have zero satisfaction/bad food/ bad experience.
Restaurant was very busy for Valentines Day so service was rather slow but food came out hot and was delicious
We waited a very long time for any service and the restaurant was not even at capacity. The food was decent at best. Disappointing first experience.
We have been going to La Strada for 40 years and have always been happy there. This was our first time since the new owner took over. It took two hours and fifteen minutes to have our dinner served. The food was cold and the fish dry. We do not plan to go back any time soon.
We had a great dinner and desert was awesome !
Under new ownership. The menu has added Chinese food.
My beef carpaccio was gross, a much thicker piece of meat and it did not smell good. The Veal Sicilian buried in tomato sauce.
My wife's creme brulee wasn't brown.
Been going to this restaurant for well over 10 years or more.
Vincenzo is gone. So is the food.
Service was very good. Food was delicious. However, it took a very long time to come. It was a Saturday night, the place was packed. We did have lovely bread and olives, and got wine refills quickly. Everyone else waited for their food, too. We were in large room which was filled and there are two other rooms, so I'm sure the kitchen was busy. We will definitely go again! P.S. free valet parking, which is mandatory, so bring cash for tip!
Slow, slow, slow to the point of annoyance
We had a delicious New Year's Eve dinner off the regular menu! The service was attentive and very good. We will go back!
We go here often and they never disappoint. They are always willing to change the ingredients to your liking. If you have not been, try them. If you have been, return.
This is a great place. The food was amazing.
Mahi Mahi was old. It wasn't fresh. It was reheated and that made it very hard.
This was our first time and it was enjoyable. Easy to get to. Valet parking. My boyfriend and I were celebrating Christmas eve.
Food was delivered late and my wife’s dinner was not hot. They tried to make it right but it was getting too late for us. The did give us a discount due to the issue. Historically a great place to eat. Hopefully a one off issue.
Service & Food was Fantastic... I cleaned the plate.
This was a favorite of mine for 20 years. It appears it's under new ownership and the the previous owner did such a perfect job, it's going to be hard for the new owners to keep up. The service is not as good however the food was very good.
Service and cocktails were excellent and our waiter was very attentive. Two of us had the pre-fix snapper special which was mediocre. Snapper and sauce were bland. Two others had the pre-fix chicken rollatine and said it was delicious.
Very good food. Was very busy, so we waited for our dessert, and then my husband had to finally ask about it . Overall good night.
Great food in an old world restaurant. Service is top notch. Food is amazing.
We ordered from the special and regular menu. Wonderful food.
A must go
Besides the great service and delicious food, it was so nice sitting in a restaurant comfortably have a quiet conversation with my wife. Unlike most new places, being able to relax and talk during dinner without straining to hear ourselves or our server was special. Thank you, I will return
Dining at La Strada is always, always a pleasure. Food is consistently first rate, service is always impeccable. A great dining experience each and every time!
Excellent food and service. Pasta was perfect al dente. Stuffed artichoke hearts appetizer was wonderful as well. Service was friendly and professional. A little live music and singing was welcome. The dining room is a little tight. Even though I had a reservation, we got stuck with a table in the middle of the room and that always feels like eating in the middle of traffic...not the best for a relaxing or romantic meal. Next time, I'll pretend I'm really old and get there around 5:30 for a better table.
As always the food was outstanding. The drinks were well made and the supporting wait staff was prompt and effective. I feel badly criticising our server, but we truly felt we were an afterthought and an inconvenience to him. To start, I asked for a small modification to my meal which wasn't done when it came to the table. There were two other tables around us that were clearly regulars that he was turning up the charm on. He even asked my boyfriend to physically move his chair out of the way so he could do a table-side flambé dessert preparation, which seemed odd since that table hadn't eaten their entree yet. I have worked in food service in the past and I realize you can't always be "on" but it's part of the job...
Perhaps the most egregious error was when I was wished a happy birthday at the beginning of the meal and I specifically asked that to be the end of the discussion regarding my birthday. I was mortified when I saw he walked over to the piano player (who was excellent, by the way) and asked her to start singing the "Happy Birthday" song. I cannot stand this and having only one birthday a year, this was not at all how I wanted to spend it. Suffice to say, I will be celebrating with a different server, or possibly at another restaurant, next year.
We got seated immediately. We’ve eaten at La Strada many, many times. Attended and hosted parties there as well. After 30 years of enjoying La Strada, we continue to love this restaurant. I had Risotto Pescatore, my husband had Veal Sorrentino. My dinner with delicious house salad was absolutely delicious. Had dinner another night. My husband said the veal was toooo thin. It wasn’t tasty. But he ate it up. We will continue to enjoy dinners at La Strada.... maybe just don’t pound the veal so much! By the way, our server Brian was very attentive! All in all great!
It was our first time to visit this restaurant and we will come back for sure. The food is really good and the service is outstanding.
Everything was great!!
Great dinner tonight!
Wonderful restaurant. Great specials. Almost no point in looking at the menu.
