From start to finish everything was FABULOUS! Food service ambiance exceeded our expectations.
We love it here
Love this place! Food is excellent!!!
Yes, it is pricey but also very good. We had a leisurely, delicious meal.
My first time dining here was a wonderful experience! The food and service were both outstanding. The stuffed Quail and Australian Rack of Lamb were perfectly cooked and presented beautifully. Our server Delroy was both very attentive and accommodating, as were the restaurant Owners and General Manager. I will definitely be returning soon!
Everything was fabulous! Cindy, the owner, made sure everything was perfect. Nate, our server, was professional and attentive to our needs. The food was outstanding!! We will be back again soon!
Always an amazing experience at my favorite restaurant! Staff is absolutely wonderful. Ambiance is gorgeous.
The food and service are both good but you should be aware that this place is crowded, noisy, and dark. I was seated in a cozy table for two right as you enter the dining area from the host counter, and felt a little cramped in a corner with very little light.
The menu that is displayed on OpenTable is not the same as the menu I got in the restaurant, and that was a little disappointing, since I had gone to La Provence hoping to get Cassoulet and found they don't serve it; but the Confit de Canard was a very nice alternative. La Provence is BYOB, so bring your own wine if that's important to your meal. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive.
For the most part, access to the entrance and within the restaurant is easy. But if you have disabilities, please be aware that there is a small step at the doorway that separates the host's counter with the dining area, and the walkway to the entrance of the restaurant is on a slight incline.
Finally, La Provence is not the ideal restaurant for a cheap date (dinner and tip, without alcohol, for just me totaled $88) or a casual solo dinner (too noisy and dark to read). La Provence, however, IS the ideal place for a special occasion; a romantic date (if you want to take a casual relationship to the next level, La Provence would certainly make a great impression); or a get-together with close friends for a fun night of laughter, food, and ambience.
I certainly recommend La Provence for its hearty and authentic cuisine.
Incredible food and experience! Cannot wait to go back!
Delicious food and great service!! They really take care of you here.
Excellent dinner with even better service. Look forward to returning.
New year’s eve
Excellent dining experience
Food and service top quality
Waitstaff attentive to every need and owner Cindy visited our table several times to make sure everything was fine
Love it there and recommend to all…
What an outstanding New Years Eve diner! One we enjoyed and will never forget! Thank you!
This was one of the best dinners we ever had. Service is excellent.
The 8 course pre fixe menu for New Years Eve was our highlight of dinning out in 2021. Make a reservation for La Provence and you will also be pleased with the friendly service, the food and the beautiful ambience.
The most perfect way to spend New Years Eve. The food and service couldn’t have been better.
La Province never fails to deliver. They now have a "new" chef from Le Bec Fin. I have to say that our meal was one of the best we've had here.
We reserved a table the day before NYE, so glad we did! We ordered the beef salad & pate duo for apps, both were great but the beef salad stole the show, it was phenomenal! Entrees were dover sole & Covina. The potatoes on the sole dish were cold, ie plated ahead of time, although the fish & spinach were nicely done. The restaurant needs to ensure better qc to so everything is delivered to the table at the right temp. The corvina dish was top notch, delish & no complaints! We’ll be back!
We had a wonderful evening both the food and service were outstanding!
Overall impression - disappointment.
This restaurant was recommended by several family members and friends as one of the jewels in the area... Disappointed.
We were a party of 6 - 3 couples. I will start with seating. We were seated in the area that is, possibly, used as outside seating during summer but now it is covered by the plastic wall and heaters were effective but.... active railroad right behind those plastic wall and airwaves from passing trains are very disturbing... And host did not tell us about that extreme. Who's brilliant idea was to use that area as seating? We did not come to get a scoop of extreme, we came to (supposedly) high-end French restaurant.... Keeping in mind there were a lot of other spaces for the 6 people table.
Food. Another disappointment. Rib eye steak was presented as a special dish accompanied with foie-gra and some other additions, Reality: pre-coocked piece of meat from refrigerator with piece of potato and nothing else... Nobody was bothering to ask how we would like to have it: well-done, medium...
Another dish: pork shoulder.... in a form of stew and several pieces of meat in a lot of sauce covered by fried dough.... The appetizer's plate (!!!) with 3 cheeses - 3 small pieces of each is out of comments.
So, for $150 per couple we had trains running behind our back, way overpriced food of sub-standard (for the advertised type of place) quality and nothing more.... except BYOB policy.
... and on top of everything in their response to private message I was accused in lie.... having 5 witnesses on my side.... and train station was called "former" - what was running behind our chairs?
Review: disappointing. We have high standards for guests that make reservations here and are disappointed that you did not meet our standards. We expect our guests to express dissatisfaction while dining. This did not happen as nothing was mentioned to the server, the manager, nor the owner, all of whom paid special attention to your table. Plates came back completely clean. Comments are vague at best. Wondering how you did not expect trains to pass, while dining at a former train station
La Provence was the perfect restaurant to meet a friend for an after Christmas brunch. Great atmosphere, delicious food and excellent service! Can’t wait to return.
Thank you so much for leaving us feedback! We are glad you had an excellent experience and will look forward to serving you again soon!
Had brunch eggs benedict with salmon & crystalized waffles with whipped cream and berries! Highly recommend both!
This was our first time at La Provence and it will definitely not be our last! This restaurant is a hidden gem located in Ambler and it was simply wonderful from beginning to end! Our servers could not have been lovelier, the food was excellent, and we LOVED all of the desserts we selected. Just a fabulous dining experience! We are already looking forward to a return visit! Highly recommend!
We are so pleased that you had a wonderful experience with us! Thank you so much for coming and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
This place is amazing. Soon it will be very difficult to get a reservation, it's that good!!
Excellent meal and excellent service. Will go again
ServicE what slow event though there appeared to be a lot of commotion among the employees
Food and service was excellent. Love dining here.
Nice brunch. The inside dining room is absolutely gorgeous! We sat on the oustide porch, which was pretty, but chilly. The host and our server was super friendly and happy. It took a while to have our order taken, but that was fine. My omelette was delicious and the burger was good.
Hi thank you so much for dining with us at brunch! We are glad your experience was good overall, though we do apologize if there was a wait to take your order. We appreciate all feedback and look forward to seeing you again soon!
We have dined here many times, and consistently good food and service. The restaurant is in the old train station, so has a big parking lot, and while the dining room is fairly small, they built out the old train platform and made cozy, partitioned dining areas. Tables are well distanced. It is also BYO which saves a lot of money.
We reserved a table for 4 to celebrate a birthday recently and could not have asked for a better experience. Our server was very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, an excellent start to our dining experience. We shared four appetizers, including a special, all of which were delicious. For the main course I had the braised rabbit which was perfectly prepared. We listened to our server for dessert recommendations and were not disappointed. We will most certainly be back soon!
$48 sirloin was NOT WORTH IT. Grizzle throughout, inedible, extremely disappointed. Thin Trout was over cooked and had burnt taste. Corvino fish entree was outstanding. “Outside” dining, which was requested at booking was the worst table in the restaurant. Along train tracks and 2 diners faced drywall. Won’t be back.
Such a pleasant surprise to merge beautiful ambience in a revised and updated setting with a wonderful meal. The temperature and noise level perfect. The service was very attentive, well prepared and knowledgeable.
Our romantic birthday dinner was decadent ! The food was delicious and the service was wonderful ! We loved the holiday vibe as well !! Highly recommend and we will be back for sure 🙌
Perfect night from start to finish!!! I highly recommend.
Excellent, unique experience with wonderful food.
As usual, the food was excellent! The onion soup got a rave as well as the salmon.
As always, the best
Food was excellent! Started with escargot, foie gras and endive salad. Then we had the trout almandine and the beef stew. All were beyond excellent. Can’t wait to go back.
Beautiful ambiance and delicious food! Staff is wonderful making it feel very special!
