La Pergoletta on Sunset
La Pergoletta offers one of a kind, delicious Italian cuisine at a bargain price. Fresh ingredients prepared by the most capable hands await you, your friends and your family. Stop by for lunch or dinner. Begin with appetizers like the antipasto misto or have a fresh salad like the panzanella or the burrata salad.
La Pergoletta also features a variety of pastas like the lasagna bolognese or the burro and salvia filled pasta, if you're looking for a richer and heartier dish. Other popular choices include the tagliata classica chiecken and the tagliata creme di funghi filet minion with porcini, portobello and Parisian mushrooms and creme. Finish off the experience with affogato al caff, a scoop of vanilla “drowned” in Lavazza espresso. Go all out with the panna cotta caramello or the cannoli. La Pergoletta would like to personally invite you out for an elevated experience.
Our second time coming to this quaint restaurant and this time we brought another couple along. As it turns out we knew the server, Bianca, for many years from another restaurant and she's always been fabulous. Tonight was no different. We started off with a misto salad, burrata salad and polenta with mixed sauteed mushrooms. The misto salad was fine: fresh baby greens with tomatoes and cucumbers and a light dressing. The polenta was a big hit: the polenta was somewhat crisp on the outside and warm/gooey on the inside. The mixed mushrooms on top was the perfect accompaniment. The burrata salad was ok: it was basically a couple of medium sized dollops of burrata on a misto salad. Nothing special but nothing offensive. I would have preferred a more imaginative preparation like slices of tomato with red onion or basil leaves but it is what it is.
My wife had the pappardelli pasta with the meat sugo and it was our favorite dish: hearty, flavorful and well prepared. I had the risotto with fruto di mare and it was quite good. The tough part about making risotto is that if it's under cooked it's crunchy; over cooked and it's gummy. This one was prepared quite well and the red sauce that came with the seafood was very good.
Our guests are fussy eaters and, other than fish, don't eat any meats. One had the salmon with risotto and she was quite happy with it. Her husband had a fusilli with garlic and olive oil and was quite pleased. Overall our experience was excellent and this little gem is a great value. I will say it gets quite noisy when they are busy (which seems to be the norm these days) so be prepared to shout a lot to have a conversation. We will be back!
Great food and thoughtful service. We had a wonderful meal.
Both locations are great! The food was delicious and we had a wonderful time with the friends we brought.
Lovely server. Lovely experience. DELISH FOOD and wine.
Cute little place trying to add some Italian authenticity to Silver Lake. The sauces are quite good but the pasta is questionable. My observation is they par-cook the pasta and then finish it off when an order comes up. The papardelle we ordered was somewhat shriveled with puckered edges and didn't appear to be fresh cooked. The restaurant is a good value and we will come back again to try other dishes
Food was homemade and fabulous, as was the staff. I would absolutely recommend.
Food was uninspired and the service was slow. Took a long time to get our wine order in particular. Eggplant Parmesan was mushy although flavor was not bad. Arrabiata was extremely spicy, much more so than any I've ever had. Arugula salad was good.
The service and the food were fantastic. The new-ish location on Sunset in Silver Lake is cozy and attractively decorated. And the lunch specials are a great deal!
Sadly, I would not. Based on reviews, I excitedly fantasized about being dropped into Italy with this restaurant. When I think of wonderful, authentic Italian, I think of charm, pride and enthusiasm from the owner, to the waiter, to those busing; this was not the case. Owner was not present (not a biggie - just stating), and waitress/bus guy were far from enthusiastic with their role as server; it was awkward. For instance, when our waitress was opening our bottle of wine, my husband asked if they had any specials and she replied with a bit of defense and arrogance, "I'm not sure, I was just getting you started." I then found myself apologizing and explaining that we hadn't eaten much that day in order to have an appetite for our dining experience. Awkward. She returned with information on the special; describing it as slow cooked ribs with meat that "fell off the bone." Husband sold. This was not the case. A slow cooked rib dish with meat that fell off the bone is an entirely different experience from one that is not...and to have only a cheap paper napkin to wipe hands repeatedly is ridiculous. Furthermore, the bruschetta was meh and the pasta was just okay. There are plenty of delicious restaurants with lovely, warm, attentive staff in our neighborhood - my advice would be to stick to those establishments.
There is a little parking lot so there is a chance for a spot! Inside is nice and cozy. The food is absolutely amazing. The pasta is homemade, the bolognese is perfect! The bruschetta is out of this world and the deserts are even better. I love this place.
Always consistently great food. First time at the new location. Excellent place for a casual Italian dinner.
We love this new location. We had been for dinner, and right when it opened on this occasion. Very good pasta and meatballs.
Food was uhhmazing and service was superb. Just talking to friends got too hard cause of how loud people were being.
Love this place...great homemade pasta in a traditional homey Italian setting.
Tiny little place, but the service was wonderful and the food was absolutely delicious. Very cozy
I really want to love this place. The food is very good although its a little tough to find healthier options. They did a great remodel that is homey and comfortable and the wine selections are affordable and tasty. With two tries under my belt, the only downside is the service which is efficient but completely lacking in charm or style. I felt like i was interrupting the hostess in order to be seated and then she took a blowtorch to the candle while talking to someone else. The waiter, who was working a lot of tables, left us alone for far too long and once our orders were taken, our food came in rapid fire succession before we were done with each course. Please, please work on your front of house training so that it matches the warmth of your food and space.
I love the flexibility of the ordering. It’s a dream, you can eat pasta exactly how you want it. It’s not my absolute favorite in the neighborhood, but it is my solid close second
Table for four is really a squeeze. It is such a tight fit that you cannot put your salad plate off to the side once your second dish arrives. The beef ravioli was very disappointing, the pasta pocket was undercooked and surprisingly the dish was not hot. However the lasagna was piping hot and the sauce and filling were very good. The salmon casserole with capers/tomaro sause was also very good and the pasta was cooked perfectly. This is our second visit and we would go solo next time as having a bigger table would be consideration esp. if we invited a couple to join us. The meal did arrive in a timely manner and the server was knowledgeable and extremely professional.
Awesome food, excellent service and a charming vibe. Oh and ya gotta get the tiramisu...omg!
The foods were great and the service was even greater.
3 of our dishes were great but the Fettuccine was too dry and hard, it needed a little more cooking. Bit pricey.
Lovely old school Italian restaurant. Good addition to Silverlake as it adds some casual yet romantic ambiance at an affordable price.
Pasta was al dente and the sauces were unfussy and tasty. The cioppino ( seafood stew) was delicious and I’d definitely go back just for that.
Wait staff seemed very novice, let dishes sit for a while and pile up. Hostess seem confused for such a tune place.
Very authentic Italian food. I took two clients for lunch and we the only people there. We share an arugula salad which was excellent, and we each got our own pasta main dish. They have different types of pasta and different sauces and you can mix and match. One of us got ravioli stuffed with spinach and cheese topped with marinara sauce, one got polenta with creamy mushroom sauce, and one got spinach linguine with broccoli, garlic, chili flakes and anchovies. Everything was delicious. I would highly recommend this place and definitely plan to come back again.
Some of the best italian food in LA. Get a table, if you can!
Great food. Friendly staff. Best birthday dinner I’ve had.
We thought the food was amazingly authentic. Have been to Italy three times and your cuisine was comparable to that experience. We plan to return and spread the good news. The noise level, child screaming was a bit daunting but of course that was totally out of your control. The server was knowledge and his recommendations were spot on. The light dessert was 👌🏾.
Love this place so much, so happy they opened this 2nd location. I’m obsessed, I would go every night. Delicious Italian and a super cozy environment.
La Pergoletta is a great find! Food outstanding and service great.
Tried the original LP and loved it so much, we had to try the new one. Didn’t disappoint. Everything here is good and the staff is so warm. We’ll return.
We enjoyed great fresh pasta and salads, super rich and creamy tiramisu, and some light and pleasantly dry lambrusco. The service was attentive and helpful. We were at a table for 4 and it was a little on the tight side for our party, but to be expected at a restaurant that size. Ambiance is nice, but it gets loud in there when they're busy.
Food orders not followed. Cold and drafty table by door. Odd hostess. Delicious food. Surprised by all the mistakes.
Good good. Great atmosphere. Little hole-in-the-wall vibe. I think they were still working out some kinks as far as service went, but everyone was nice. Solid place! Will be hitting it up again for sure.
A tiny bit crowded inside (tables very close together) and a bit loud, but food was superb and service was excellent. Will definitely be back!
Welcome to the neighborhood! Happy to see the former Gobi space all tatted up like an Italian restaurant. The menu is simple and good. You pick your pasta and then your sauce and everything we had was tasty. There are other meat and fish options as well. Three weeks in the service was a little spotty but it was also Valentines Day so I imagine it was a bit more folks than they were used to. We’ll definitely be back.
wow! so good. we will be back. again and again....
Food was fantastic - really enjoyed the house made fresh pasta. The portions were an ideal size, not too big or small. The table was a bit small for four people, but the service team kept the plates moving.
Too loud! I prefer the original on Hillhurst
3 rd time in two weeks. It really is that god.Try their new dish "cosa nostra" wild shrimp flambe in cognac Gorgonzola cheese olive oil and garlic....it is outstanding.I would not have thought this combo would work. Paolo, the owner, talked me into trying it.Now I am addicted.Hence the 3 visits.BTW...word spread fast and it fills up fast at night.A Resi on Open Table does the trick.
