Food was incredible. I had the 4 cheese sauce with the gnocchi and I have been dreaming about it ever since. The waiter we had was really lovely and helpful. The only thing I’d say is that it is a little cramped and noisy but I’ll definitely be going back!
Beautiful fresh pasta and authentic Italian food. Lovely drinks and excellent service. Special was a little pricy but would still return.
Great authentic Italian good with great staff. Highly recommend
Went here on a first date kind of nervous but it was great, wasn’t too fancy or too simple, food was really good, everyone was super nice
Great food and service.
Would’ve been more comfortable if the doors were closed as it was a chilly night and the doors were wide open
Real, fresh, authentic Italian food! Would be better if the tables and chairs were bigger and more comfortable but still OK. Will definitely return!
Best pasta in Sydney
And head chef was so accommodating and friendly
It was a cold night and we got seated outside without an option. Food was nice but over priced. The waitress was wonderful friendly and helpful
This place was amazing my partner and my self loved it so much!
Will definitely be coming back here!
Favola by far is my fave Italian restaurant!
Service was quick and attentive
Pasta was just a good enough portion ( I wasn’t too overly full) and could cut dessert.
Tiramisu dessert was the best I’ve ever had!
It was noisy as the entrance door was being opened. Food was great!
Amazing as always. I had the pasta special, my friend had one of the menu options, and we both ordered the dessert donuts for the first time. My fave Italian restaurant, never disappoints, so happy to be back!
Me and my friends went for the first time, the service was spectacular and the staff was very clear with giving details of the specials. Food is well reccommended. Everything is so fresh so tasty and delicious. Love it.
We will be back for sure
I love this place. Everyone so friendly and the food is amazing. Fresh ingredients and wine selection is good
Food was so tasty, great portions, and the service was fantastic. We had a great chat with who I think must be the owner(?) in Newtown, who was so passionate about food and about what he does. Loved it. Will be back!
Great food, fast service. Would prefer chairs with backs to them but small problem in overall great service
Really nice food but the service was poor and staff did not respect bookings that night. We were not the only customers with a booking who had to wait more than 15mn for our table which had not been reserved.
Absolute top service, and gorgeous authentic Italian food.
Customer service was warm and hospitable and the food was amazing. You can tell the ingredients used are fresh and the pasta is delicious. Will definitely be returning on a regular basis!
Delicious pasta, price was reasonable. The shop is really small so expect to bump into people and tables. Friendly staff.
Good specials and nice food. Great place for social dinner for two and groups.
Food was fantastic but we were seated up the back near the kitchen and it was very off putting to see baby cockroaches climbing the walls throughout our meal.
La Favola a small space serving fantastic dishes, three of us needed to be fed and out in a hour as we were attending a show. No problem, we enjoyed a shared entree of the Caprese mozzarella, three different pasta dishes, the special pasta of the day being a zucchini puree seafood gnocchi it hit all the right notes light and tasty, we also shared the main special fish, enjoyed with a fantastic bottle of the Rockford Latitude chardonnay. Only thing to be aware of the seating is stool type of chairs, I am guessing this allows the space for more people to get a reservation.
Tasty everything. Really enjoyed our bread and pasta. Service was good, but a little fast. Would have stayed longer and spent more money if everything wasn’t so rushed!
I’m never one to eat pasta outside the house however this place is an exception. Great fresh pasta which is different to most other places. The staff were amazing and lively as we were able to talk to them and get amazing recommendations on all things italian at the restaurant as well as around Sydney.
The quality of everything is amazing however I won’t lie,I was surprised with the bill at the end of the night. Although you pay for what you get I guess which in this case wasn’t a bad thing!☺️
Great food, reasonable wine, although very loud and busy.
Absolutely fantastic restaurant!
In twrns of noise its part of the experience being intimate and bustling and having part of the kitchen in full view.
Definately recommend for simple yet stunning food and the staff are beautiful
I was really excited as it had such great reviews. But then we arrived at the restaurant and it has tiny tables and small uncomfortable metal stools. There were 4 of us and seating was cosy to say the least. Then our entrees arrived and they were fantastic! But then it took almost 45 minutes for our mains to arrive, after we’d finished our entree’s, even though we all ordered pasta ( the only main choice there is except for special of the day) 2 of us had the lobster pasta special which was good, not great but pretty good, but the other two pasta dishes were not good, pasta hard ( not Al dente but hard as if over cooked then dried out or something weird) and mine was the Italian sausage, broccoli, garlic white wine etc - problem was the broccoli was mushy and really over cooked.
It was a shame as the service was good and very flexible re which pasta you could have with the special ( it came with gnocchi but they allowed my husband to have fettuccine with it instead).
Best Carbonara I have ever had!
Great food & service.
The only negative would be that they pack to many tables into the venue so you feel very cramped.
Had lunch. Delicious, fresh, clean food. Good value.
Would have liked another vegetarian option but there were enough to choose from.
An amazing degustation dinner with the Italian sales consultant for the Tuscan winery also in attendance.
Fabulous food and service always.
Always coming back
It was a 4 Courses $69 ($89 with wine pairing) degustation. We watched the wine being served out like it was Louis Roederer Cristal! My friend said it was a wonder they didn't use an eyedropper. So here we are having a degustation in the middle of all the cheap and cheerful having a bowl of cheap pasta! We thought the entire restaurant would be put aside degustation diners for the evening. Food was ordinary at best. Risotto was bland with pureed asparagus. I use pieces of asparagus in my risotto for more flavour and texture. I'm guessing asparagus is expensive at the moment? Cured kingfish was far too firm as if the curing process had been over extended. My salmon was overcooked and dry - I hate overcooked salmon as I only cook it rare. I informed the waitress of this fact, but received no feedback. The oxtail ravioli contained mozzarella (not mentioned on the menu) which, when combined with the butter & sage sauce, made the dish far too rich. A mistake was made with the desserts, so we had to remain amongst the "fast fooders" longer than anticipated. We only went because we went on Christmas Day for a degustation and it was excellent, but on the basis of this experience I don't think that we will be back again!
Fantastic food served with great Newtown vibe. Excellent experience all round.
We were on friday night for dinner, it was great! The pasta is amazing and Marco was great with his wine suggestion and service!
The desserts were awesome as well!
We’ll come back !
great food and service but the restaurant was tiny and very squishy
The food was tasty but portions very small. The ingredients are so finally chopped its hard to recognise seafood vegs etc.
I think it is a bit overpriced for a basic pasta restaurant with small helpings.
Best Italian in Newtown - finally a restaurant that understands the food instead of trying to make a buck from popular dishes. Marco cared for us well - a busy kitchen with everyone pulling their weight. And very clean. A joy to watch and pleasure to eat.
La Favola is my go to local Italian Restaurant.
It offers a selection of authentic Italian freshly made pasta and sauces that are out of this world!!! My friend tried the gnocchi for the first time & is now a convert to the pillowy bites of potato with the 4 cheese sauce!!! Add on a starter like my go to Carpaccio & home-made focaccia every time & if you can squeeze in dessert there's the cannoli & tiramisu that never disappoints!!!
Top off the amazing food with the hospitality of the owner Fabio & the brilliant wait staff & you feel like you're visiting someone's home!!!
Had a bucks party at la Favola. Very accommodating for a large party. Food was delicious 😋 and the limoncello was tasty!!!
