La Camelia Restaurant
It was a wonderful dining experience. The service and the food were fabulous. It was service with a smile! Food was delicious. A nice mix of flavors from Spain and Portugal. We sat at the hi top tables in the bar area for a more casual vibe! Good music. Owners are very warm and gracious people! It’s definitely a place to visit and definitely a place I will be going back to.
We started with 3 different tapas. They were all unique and delicious. We shared the seafood paella and it was so fresh and so good. Drinks were perfect. Out of all the homemade desserts, we chose the chocolate cake which was simply scrumptious. This place is a hidden gem!!!
Love this restaurant. My only complaint is the noise from the bar, which is in the next room, is very loud.
food and service was good! I would recommend. Good price point
Food was very good but everyone’s meal needed to salted. We never use salt at restaurants but it was definitely lacking. My husbands duck was quite dry otherwise the rest of the dinners were good. My daughter mentioned she wouldn’t go out of her way to return. Ambiance is quite casual and very friendly. A nice warm fire was a nice touch. I will give this restaurant another try as I did enjoy myself.
La Camelia is a beautiful atmosphere and the staff are just wonderful!
Serafina and Victor we’re away on the night we came and it’s a credit to them and there staff on how well everything went.
Having worked in a restaurant, I know that leaving your business, especially a restaurant is not an easy decision to make. Food preparation and service can be an issue, when as the saying goes, “When the cats away the mice will play”. In this case we can say that the night was perfect. Starting with appetizers, the squid was grilled to perfection and the escargot was flavored perfectly in a topping that had to be wiped clean with warmed fresh bread. We savored the ever delicious Seafood and Valencia paella’s and washed them down with glasses of smooth, dry wine. Thank you staff for a wonderful dining experience while the cats were away!
La Camelia has always been a favorite restaurant of mine. Serafina(owner) and her husband make you feel right at home and are very warm and welcoming. We came for Valentines day and enjoyed our time to the fullest with a great meal! The food and service were excellent.
A wonderful restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and Valentine’s Day at. From the moment we walked in we we’re treated as family .. food favorite was the steak on a stone, wine pairings were excellent...
Good, but next time looking forward to trying tapas.
The service was atrocious. We had to find the water pitcher ourselves. I had to hunt down our server. We got all the wrong food, it took hours (3 1/1!) for our plates to arrive. We were presented with the wrong bill. And when we complained that the service was disappointing the waitress was rude and gave us attitude. While the food was very good the experience was terrible. Sad. And we won’t be back.
Very friendly and attentive. Great food. No rush. Loved speaking with the owner!
Love love loved it. Great food and Service.
Loved this place ! Waitress and the staff were so fabulous!
Food was great as well.
Music at the bar scene was a lot of fun. After dinner we all moved the tables and danced in front of the fireplace !
can’t wait to get some more girls and go back.
First if all, Serafina & Victor invite you to their restaurant as if you are family. The dining room is fantastic. The food choices amazing, the food quality is fantastically delicious! The authentic portuguese food makes you feel as if you are on the iberian peninsula. FANTASTIC
Wow, have they upgraded the food. If you have been, go again. If you have never been, give them a try. The steak on a granite slab is amazing. We did a tapas menu in addition and were very impressed.
The food was delicious...the waitress was helpful. We went for lunch and a salad with tapas. Worth the trip!
The food was great! The staff were cheerful, attentive and very accommodating . I would say that this restaurant is our favorite dining place for any occasion .
Hadn't been there in years and decided to try. I think they're living on reputation. Room was a bit rustic, but felt dated and could use some sprucing up. As for the food, we had four tapas to start. Eggplant was tasty, steamed clams in broth were good, but the shrimp lacked taste and the chorizo, while tasty, was overcooked and very tough. We shared the seafood paella entree - lots of lobster shell but not much lobster meat, along with clams and mussels. The rice was tasty enough, but no soccarat (the crispy rice part of paella). The service was uneven. We had a server who was well intentioned; she told us the tapas would come out two by two, so as to make sure they were hot. The food runners brought out three right out of the gate; the owner or chef stopped by and I mentioned that, he said they were busy and had to get the food out when ready, but the dining room actually wasn't that full when we placed our order. The server came back and asked if they brought our food two by two, and she was upset they hadn't. Wine was fairly priced. I like this type of food, but nothing about the experience will bring me back that soon.
Everything was delicious! Drinks were awesome! We will be back.
Wonderful attentive service and terrific Tapas and deserts!
The ambiance is quaint and the tapas fare offers a good choice. However it appears that they are short staffed. The service was very slow and we had to ask for someone several times during the course of our meal to bring the menu, clear the table etc. They did seem to have a very busy evening so that may have contributed to it, but I think they need to train the staff better to keep an eye on the tables. For example the wait staff chose to clear up a table that had just left while we were left waiting with dirty dishes for a while. The food is pretty good, not exceptional. Would consider going again.
Great food, wonderful atmosphere and good service is a must to restaurant in Mount Kisco!
Our place to go at anytime, especially for Christmas Eve dinner! Our traditional dinner for the Eve is fish and the selection as usual was outstanding. Starting with the tapas, the octopus and calamari very tender and in a savory sauce. The crab was just as tasty. The entrees of seafood paella and lobster were made to their usual perfection. One person decided to get the veal Osso Buco and the meat was tender and falling off the bone. As usual, the portions were very generous. The wine pairings were perfect and we capped off our meal with cappuccino. No room this time for dessert. The service was perfect, not rushed,
and paced perfectly between courses. As usual, the entire staff were courteous and owners always attentive and pleasant.
They were short handed. Only one waitress who had many tables. Food wasn’t as good as previous visit
We decided to try something new for my birthday and invited 2 other couples to join on the adventure. We had passed the signage for this place for many years and finally ventured up the mysterious hill. We were all so happy we did! Initially I was a little worried, we were seated simply by pointing out our reserved table, no real warm welcome so I was concerned at first. But once our waitress finally took charge (took a while) all was good. Whew! We ordered drinks, white Sangria, margaritas and beers! I had ordered a small pitcher, some how ended up a large (didn’t realize till the bill came) but refreshing and delicious. For appetizers we ordered mussels, Caesar salad, and gazpacho shared by all and no complaints. The sauce for the mussels was different and enjoyed. We each ordered different entrees and one tapas for our main entrees... salmon, steak on a stone (HUGE AND IMPRESSIVE) and short ribs over pasta. The tapas my friend had as an entree, shrimp over guac was also plenty and she enjoyed. Everyone was pleased. The waitress continued to be attentive and very cheerful! They wheeled over a cart with different desserts. We ordered a couple of flans tres leches cake and an apple tart of some kind. We also enjoyed a few cappuccinos. They brought out my dessert with a candle and sang happy birthday to me! Everything was perfect ! We will be back!
Excellent service. Food was great
Terrific; will return often
We have dined at La Camelia many times, and our most recent meal last Saturday night was no different. The appetizers, especially the garlic shrimp and gravlax were terrific. The mains, particularly the paella was equally well prepared and tasty, and large enough to share. The restaurant vibe is now much more inviting with the new owners Serafina and Victors inputs. Highly recommended, we’ll be back again soon.
The service was very slow at first and the attitude was not very attentive. The food was only about a B on the scale, as it lacked distinctive flavors.
Second time that I dine here, and I really like it. Will be coming back many more times. Our waitress “Le” is wonderful.
A fabulous Iberian cuisine local and quaint. The owners are sweet and take pride in the great space created with a classic culture. I started with tapas I’d Serrano game , manchego cheese and pouched pear along with croquettes of cod. My entree was traditional paella.
We had a reservation for 6 pe
Wow!! A wonderful dinner tonight. Being greeted by Victor and Serafina (the owners) at the door, seated in a cozy living room with a fireplace, and presented with incredible menus. We went with 5 different tapas, which were all delicious. Serafina talked us into dessert which was incredible. Outstanding staff who all worked together made this a great expirience!!
Needed to be in the Mt Kisco area to drop a child at a birthday party, so decided to eat dinner and wait, instead of driving 45 minutes each way. La Camelia was the perfect choice, and it didn't disappoint. The owner was friendly and accommodating, offering us seating where ever we wanted, he spent a bit of time at our table chatting, and introduced us to his wife (the hostess) seemed like the perfect family business. The waitress was attentive and helpful, she recommended that we order (7) seven tapas items, which really was the correct amount to satisfy our hunger. The plates come out at an even pace, so items were not getting cold on the table. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, friendly atmosphere, and a true pleasant evening. A place like this is worth the drive!
Excellent, authentic Iberian food in a lovely, warm setting. Service is not rushed, staff are welcoming but not hovering. Had a wonderful birthday dinner and will come back often.
The food is excellent with a wide choice of tapas, appetizers and entrees. Pleasant atmosphere, cheerful competent waitstaff. Not my first time there, won’t be my last.
One of our favorites. We wanted to sit in main dining area (not on bar side) so we had a drink while we waited. They were very nice and we were seated by one of the fireplaces (our favorite spot). Food was very good and the manager and his wife made us feel like friends. Always a special evening.
Had not been here in many years but glad we came back- the staff could not have been more attentive & nicer- it was a busy Friday night-we enjoyed our meal & will return
A wonderful evening. Noise level a bit high but expected for a busy Saturday night. The food was excellent and extremely authentic Spanish and Portuguese selections. It was hard to decide among the large number of choices on the menu.
