There are two good things I can say about this place: the ingredients are fresh, and the staff are friendly. But that’s about it. First, the seating area is not designed well: we need to sit by around the sushi bar, which means we are all sitting side by side with loud music playing in the background. I had dinner with two friends and I can barely hear the friend on the far left and the friend in the middle had to deliver almost every message. So if you are having dinner with more than one person, I wouldn’t recommend this place. Also, there’s no social distancing, so we are sitting uncomfortably close to other guests.
Second, the value is not good. The toro belly sashimi (4 pieces) is $30, and the uni nigiri (1 piece) is $10. The three of us ended up paying over $200 (including tips) for our dinner, and my two male friends were not full. I mean I understand sashimi are generally expensive, but this place is set up as a casual bar, located next to a Walmart. We are not expecting this to be a mid to high-end sushi bar, but we are paying the price for one.
Last, it’s not authentic. Many of the hand rolls have a American twist to it, e.g. seasoned with Mayo, or spicy sauce. We ordered one of the special, yellow tail collar, it’s not good. It’s almost like they boiled the fish then fried it. There’s nothing wrong with fusion, it just doesn’t fit my taste.
Food was great but we had to wait for about 30 mins even though we had a reservatoon and no one really came to check if we wanted to have a glass of water or something. Uni was great!
...great food, friendly severs, good sake....always a great time
BIL Birthday NYE
Honestly, this can compete with the sushi we had in Japan. Outstanding for this area!
Best sushi I’ve ever had in Dallas!!!!
Each time my boyfriend and I visit, Kyodai always seems to make each experience even better than the last one! One of our favorite places to go dine and eat. We always order “Believe Me” for each of us. You got best taste of everything kyodai has to offer and chefs always keep it interesting for us. The quality is so premium and their price is so reasonable. You always feel like you get your money’s worth.
good food and service. reminds me of home
Everything was very fresh and delicious. We liked being able to see how the food was being prepared in front of us, and some of the servers answered our questions about what we were eating.
This tiny little place is amazing! I’ve gone 5 times and it gets better every time! Highly recommended for high quality sushi and friendly service.
The best out there! Every bite was perfection. Will be back soon.
My family took me here for my Birthday Dinner. We had a great time, good foods and best services. This restaurant is also my regular since it opened 4-5 months ago. Highly recommend to others but should have reservation in advance on the weekend .
Great high quality interesting Sushi. This is a newer style sushi. Not traditional but really good with excellent quality fish. Overall I would highly suggest going. Note as with all really good sushi, expect to pay for it.
Happy to report the otoro was fresh and amazing!
We had a party of 8. The food, service and ambiance was impeccable. I would recommend to all my friends to dine here. I favorite was the All In One. Perfection!
This was our first visit and we couldn't be more impressed!
Excellent restaurant to find near Plano/Frisco/McKinney area. The handroll concept in what resembles a standing sushi restaurant in Shibuya Tokyo is unique and the rolls are excellent. My only concern is that while the handrolls are fresh, they all taste the same after a while regardless of if they are crab, tuna, or a salmon hand roll. I would suggest a better way to differentiate them a bit.
It's nice to have a local place to go to but there are definitely other options if you drive 25 mins towards downtown.
Great sushi and hand rolls. Some of the best I’ve had in Dallas. These guys are professionals and take great care in the food they serve
Fresh sushi in frisco!! Sooo yummm! There’s no patio seating but you can eat at the small tables next door.
appointment required
fish were super fresh. reminds me of east coast/west coast sushi places. uni & toro combo was amazing. foie gras buttery. sweet shrimp with quail egg combo so good. staff were super friendly and knowledgable. def come back again
Wonderful authentic restaurant reminds me of being in Tokyo
The food was great. If you haven’t try it, you should!
Great Food and Atmosphere!
Food: 4.5 stars
Some interesting mixture of flavors that creates new taste. They use torch to burn and heat food to give a hot and crunchy taste. Something different. No kitchen food.
Service: 5 stars
The servers are attentive
Value: 4 stars
Portion Vs price - this place is definitely on a pricy spectrum. One handroll can cost like $18. One piece of sushi is like $9 (double of what you normally expect)
Atmosphere: 4
As a family of four with younger kids (8 and 5), I dislike the bar height seats. They are very uncomfortable even for myself. (Short) Unfortunately, no tables here.
Awesome food, great service and really friendly staff. The experience was top notch. We’ll definitely be back
Awesome experience! The food and the service are incredible at this establishment. I also love the seating arrangement.
Owners have a great restaurant and great concepts.
I which they had a kids menu of some sort.
We loved the ambiance, the great service and most importantly, the food and it’s quick and beautiful presentation. Thanks for taking care of us, guys! We will be back soon!
This place was excellent! Best sushi place in north DFW. DELICIOUS fish selection. Omokase style dining experience. Will most definitely be going there again!
