Upscale Japanese fare is given a jolt of new life through an innovative use of ingredients, resulting in refreshing and exciting flavor combinations. Baked Crab Roll, for which succulent fresh crabmeat is wrapped in a thin rice crepe paper dotted with sesame seeds and baked to perfection. Hamachi Fusion with Soy-Citrus and Truffle Essence all artfully plated by Koi’s skilled culinary team.
Food was excellent
Great presentation we will return
stupidly over priced would not recommend going here
Perfect food all the time. I have never been disappointed with the food at Koi. This time, I felt that the short ribs were not as soft as usual. Everything else was incredibly delicious.
Beautiful atmosphere, yet food seemed overpriced for what was served. Sushi rolls and sashimi was below average, yet seared tuna plate was amazing. Although ambiance was very nice inside and out, probably would not return unfortunately.
Food acceptable but rather mediocre. Flavors were just not there.
Everything was amazing! Food was fresh and delicious! We had a 7pm show and a 5:30 reservation and my husband and I ate and enjoyed every bite without feeling rushed! Instead of talking about the show, which was good too, we spent the remainder of the night and the next morning talking about the food! Again....Amazing!!!
Delicious! Noise level is BAD at lunchtime...but the food is fabulous. Our service was great, as well.
We LOVE Koi and go whenever we are in NYC.
Restaurant for Sushi is pretty good.
Personally I have had better sushi in Montreal Uni Sushi in Candiac, Sogen Sushi in Laprairie Quebec and Osaka Sushi Lima Peru.
But for New York it was the best Sushi perhaps even better then Niro Sushi.
The service was great, but the food at Koi was just “meh”. Nothing extraordinary. Very pedestrian. The salmon carpaccio was the standout favorite.
Delicious, but a bit overpriced, even for NYC. The waitress talked a bit too much about modifying portions, like how many pieces came in an order of something. We weren't even interested in that. And then when we did place our order she told us 5 would come in the appetizer and asked if we were fine with that fighting over the 5th. We didn't really care, especially because I was the one who wanted it and my husband was getting sushi, but then there were only 4 and the price wasn't altered. We didn't say anything was because it was a really minor issue, but it was still odd.
Just wonderful. For the moment we entered through the entire meal. Service was exceptional
The food was good, but it wasn’t amazing much compared to the prices charged. Overpriced for small portion. Also, they gave me and my friend a small table, and the whole time we got bothered by the conversations from other 2 tables right next to us as the tables (for 2 people) are very close to each other. That wasn’t what we expected from upscale restaurant like Koi, and paid a lot for lunch. It was good for just one time to experience the food and service, but I would not go there anymore.
I thoroughly enjoyed the food. That being said, we did find the portion for the "sharing plate" appetizer to be quite small for the price so we would know for next time not to order it. My sister who is gluten free was a bit disappointed they didn't have a larger selection but she was able to find items that she could have and she enjoyed them as well.
This is a beautiful place, our only issue with it was it's a bit dark so it can be hard to read the menu.
We will definitely be back again in the future.
Amazing, amazing, amazing
Food was fine. Service was excellent. But the prices were outrageously high.
Always a great meal and excellent service! My go-to place.
Food is fabulous as is the service as long as you get Rob. The other servers are mediocre to not so great. Because the food is so damn good, they will be busy all the time and it will be hard to get a reservation. A must try.
Always an amazing experience at Koi. We keep coming back for the Crispy Rice but everything is delicious.
awesome sushi! good place for a great bite to eat:)
We had a great time here. Went for a night with my wife and we had a bunch of apps and wine. We really enjoyed our meals, everything was super tasty especially the crispy rice topped with truffle avocado. We also had the lobster tacos and the tuna sashimi tacos. Our wait staff was amazing and knew the right times to check on us. Me and my wife were in deep conversation and we didn’t even notice that the wait staff came by filled our drinks and water and poof they were gone. They really knew how not to disturb. Great time and looking forward to our next visit there.
I went first time here. Awesome place! Very kindly and Yummy!!
I like spicy rice & tuna and mochi deserts.
First , let’s just say The wagyu carpaccio was metaphorically speaking like opening up the gates of heaven!!! 10 thumbs up!!!! Awesome food. Awesome staff!!! Can’t wait to come back
Delicious ! Yet a but expensive
Beautiful place and very chic. Service was excellent - informative and attentive. Menu is quite creative. Only drawback that both my wife and I agreed was that everything was cooked with too much salt. It was as if the chef was seriously trying to get your savoury tastebuds going. The dishes would be 5 stars with a bit less salt.
There was a mixup in the kitchen so our food was delayed. It happens. But honestly we were shocked at the bill. Very pricey for a lunch. Food was good though and service too.
Amazing sushi and service in a great atmosphere.
mixed feelings about this place. tasty food but very high noise level. A little impersonal and unfriendly.
Not really recommend if want to experience an authentic sushi eating. The restaurant is absurdly noisy, you can’t hear what the other person saying without them screaming at you. Waiters were very attentive.
Food was pretty nice and cool location/design. Prices are too high by 20-25%
They sat us in the front right on the street.
Food was okay, overpriced
Food is very good. Second time we used a gift certificate there and was told there was not a balance. After triple checking they found the balance. A little weird!
We go here whenever we visit NYC. This is our favorite restaurant!
We dined on Father's Day, expecting a relaxing a tasty meal of the type of cuisine that my husband most prefers. We arrived for a 7 PM reservation at an empty restaurant (which did fill up by the time we left 45 minutes later) and were immediately seated and accosted by our waitress who provided us with menus and then literally ten seconds later returned to take drink orders before we had napkins on our laps. She retuned several more times to ask if we had decided on drinks or menu items within the subsequent 4 minutes. After many additional returns to the table ('have you decided yet"? )we placed a simple order and then had our food delivered to us within 10 minutes. The pace was frenetic, the waitress overbearing, the bussers whisking away plates that still had food on them. Hovering, obnoxious, stressful. We were out in 45 minutes and then my husband was so agitated that we walked around the city for another 45 minutes to calm down before finding a more tranquil and well paced environment in the lounge at the Royalton Park Avenue. A very disappointing Father's Day outing.
So noisy had to scream and my voice was so soar when I walked out. Pity food was great.
Restaurant needs a facelift. Service was mediocre. Way overpriced for what it was.
The food was fantastic! The issue was that they hovered over your table and were ready to grab the plates if even if there was food on it. No one asked if we were done. Also we ordered dessert (cheesecake and banana spring rolls) and it took 20 minutes to receive, but with the main dishes we received not 5 mins after we ordered
