Absolutely beautiful experience, the desserts were top class, staff were lovely. Highly recommended to all
Excellent dining experience! Each course was delicious and the service was outstanding. Highly recommend
I surprised my friend for her belated birthday by taking her to Koi. We have both been wanting to do the dining experience for a while now and when we did we were both blown away! The 'sweet' dining experience was nothing we ever experienced before and it was a pleasure to add ourself to the list of many guests that have dined at Koi.
Amazing experience, food and service. We loved everything about this evening. Thank you
Had the dessert degustation and added the Snitch for an additional $30 per person. Portions of the dessert degustation were quite small for the price. Was a nice touch for the servers to add a Birthday message and candle to the snitch.
Lacking a story behind the desserts and the server was a little difficult to understand.
Overall, I would return for coffee and cake, rather than the degustation again as all courses tasted similar.
Exquisite dessert menu - looks and tastes delightful and decadent.
Worth for a trip to try out beautiful crafted snack and dessert. You might thought portions are small from the beginning but definitely will agree it is in right size by the end.
The chawanmushi and potato ball snack was a surpirse starter and it is so tasty. The texture of potato mash deep fried in ball with cheese can still be feel in my mouth. The umami favour from the egg cusstard is so tasty.
The Bon Fire might have a little flaw when serving. I was suppose the hot black sesame sauce will melt the topping tuille but it might not be hot enough to do it. But overall it is still enjoyable.
Before attending, I was sent a menu for the night, I was looking forward to trying 'white noise' as it stated that that was one of the courses. Unfortunately, when we got there, they told us that they had started a new menu that day. Sadly white noise was not on this menu. I feel like the menu change should have been communicated to us before we arrived.
Unfortunately, dining on the day of a new menu has its downfall. There has been no feedback on the dishes for the chefs to refine the courses. The snacks and the first two courses were delicious (the soup, mochi ball, a break in the forest and jetlag were fantastic). However, the last two courses, harvest and bonfire were not as good. In harvest, there was too much of the leaf shaped food, I believe it was the celeriac. It felt like we were eating icing. The textures and flavours were too much. Same with bonfire, the black disc was far too overpowering, but the passionfruit brought some balance.
I don't think it was fair that we had to try a new menu as it hasn't gone through the whole customer tasting process and we weren't informed before hand of the change, which I feel is a bit unfair, especially when you are paying $95 per person.
However, the customer service was fantastic and the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.
If you're planning on going, I'd say give it a week or two until the new menu is broken in completely.
I had the paired degustation. In general the drinks matched the desserts really well and it was a good way to sample a couple of the cocktails. The staff were excellent, describing the components of each of the courses in detail, together with any little tips on how to tackle them. The desserts themselves were delicious - great flavours. Nice ambiance and not too noisy
Great service, extremely curated desserts, extraordinary drinks menu. Highly recommend for those who want a fix for sweet tooth in style
Delicious desserts and great service and atmosphere
Sensational food, such a treat! Would definitely recommend as a Sydney must do!
Overall good experience. Really enjoyed it! Looking forward for future dining with KOI
Desserts were amazing and the customer service was really good too. Would come again!
My boo and I went here for Valentine’s Day. Our experience at Koi made last Sunday the best night of both of our lives.
Really can not say enough positive things about the staff, the food and the whole experience. We absolutely loved it! Thank you.
This is an absolutely amazing place to take your tastebuds. The menu for Valentines Day was next level. Every dish was so creative and delicious!
We travelled from interstate for this dinner and had planned the whole weekend around having the 4-course dessert menu. However, we were called by the restaurant and advised that, because it was Valentine's weekend, we would only be able to have their degustation menu. While disappointed (it was too late to change our travel), we accepted this.
The best course was the Snacks. None of the other courses really thrilled us, even the desserts. My duck was tough; I left some on the plate and I told the staff, but there was no reaction from the kitchen. There were other distractions, such as spilling sparkling water over the table and not noticing, and providing a knife and fork to eat a milk curd dish, but the biggest disappointment was the unacceptably long wait between courses. I didn't time it, but I watched people who arrived 30 minutes after us get served their courses before us.
We have followed Reynold since his first season of Masterchef, and I feel sad writing this. I'm not sure I would rush back.
I didn’t book here for my partner’s birthday so that we to be served with a snack and a starter ONLY! for the first 100 mins nor the wrong course! Not to mention the pity amount of food you get. We’ve been to at least 30 Michelin Star restaurants across the world and we certainly don’t complain often as we understand people have different taste so though the food was not tasty for us and I find they need to learn a bit more with their duck cooking, we don’t want to rant publicly. However, we were clearly overlooked and we expect to be full after a 300 dollar dinner! I don’t even know how could I possibly recommend this place to two friends already before I tried just because I saw the chef’s tv show and got fooled by their lovely photos!
The Snitch was awesome. Service a bit slow. They had run out of Hibiki 😢🤔. Reynold is a genius
most memorable night. the food was great. the staff where lovely.
Wonderful experience, very friendly and professional staff.
If you like your desert you will like this type of dining. The dishes were all different and the flavour combinations were amazing especially Noi. We were not rushed and the service was professionally executed. Even without a view it was a nice place to wine and dine, but as I said in my first sentence you must like desert.
Beautiful looking and delicious desserts! !The little savoury snacks were amazing too!
Loved it but would like a bit more of the savoury if we are there for our evening dinner. I do realize it’s a dessert bar however!
We had the summer high tea and all of the food was delicious. The craftsmanship of the sweet options was amazing. It would be good if the savoury options were at that same level too, but they were definitely a step up from the usual sandwiches you may find at a high tea.
If you can't do much sweet food, I recommend starting with the sweet and ending with the savoury, or at least alternating because it was a struggle to get through the last few sweet items because of the richness and sweetness.
The tea and coffee was free flowing and the staff were prompt at offering refills. The only downside I would say is that we waited an hour to receive our food, which for something like a high tea that is assembled as opposed to cooked fresh, is too long to wait.
Every course was amazing, from taste to presentation to technique to theatre and beyond.
Our Server, Calista, was also a delight. She was super friendly, accommodating, professional and overall provided great customer service adding to the overall positive experience we encountered.
Great venue and delicious food. We felt it was quite expensive for what it was, however we plan to come back each time they change the high tea men to try it again, so not enough to stop us! The only other thing we found lacking was that we had to wait for our table despite having a booking and once we were seated, had to wait quite a long time more for our high tea to arrive. Overall though we really enjoyed it and we will be back.
I have enjoyed the food. The staff were nice and approachable.
Lovely intricate desserts very unique and interesting
From the moment we entered Koi Dessert Bar we were made to feel welcome. The 'Frozen' High Tea did not let us down. Visually it was beautiful & as we explored each item on the plate we were amazed at the variety of flavours. We look forward to our next visit, which will hopefully be very soon.
Absolutely Amazing! The food was nothing short of outstanding it looked too good to eat!
...almost too good to eat. Customer service was one of the best I’ve ever had, very friendly staff and great atmosphere. I will definitely come again!
Amazing service, very polite and friendly staff. Food was delicious and beautifully plated.
Beautiful well composed flavours; simply amazing! Will be back that’s for sure!
Service was impeccable too!
Thank you team you’ve made it a great experience :)
We book to dine in at the Koi desert bar as that was our wedding anniversary.. we have been to other experiences so thought why not try something different this time... And I mush say it came out to be a disaster for us... Not such a great experience in terms of taste of deserts..
To start with good things... the cocktails were amazing... the starters was different and good... presentation of deserts was outstanding...
Now the downside... taste of deserts was not so great.. I would rather spend the money in the pastries downstairs.. those taste far better than what is served upstairs... even if the deserts are little less presentable but better in taste would have preferred revisiting place...
Honestly, currently for me I would never book dining..
This is as honest as I can be...
A great venue located in Spice Alley...high end desserts to round off a special night...a great casual coffee catch up for mid afternoon walkabouts ❤️ just divine
A memorable experience from start to finish. Service was impeccable. Every detail was appreciated in the menu
Amazing food, amazing service and a great atmosphere
Food was absolutely amazing. Definitely worth the price!! My friend and I enjoy high tea hopping and this is by far the best high tea we’ve experienced. We will most definitely be coming again. Highly recommend.
The set menu was great value for the quality of the dishes served.
Each dish was delicious, the flavours went well together and they were immaculately presented.
I would definitely recommend Koi to people.
Outstanding service and most enjoyable.
