The first time we visited this restaurant, the food and service was outstanding. A more recent visit was surprisingly disappointing. The seafood was again outstanding, which still made it worth a visit. We ordered all main courses on the menu. ALL mains were tasteless, in sharp contrast to the seafood entrees. The wrong dish was listed on the menu, which led to someone eating an ingredient that made them sick.

The desserts were what you would expect of the price you pay. The service was mixed. The waitor cleared haLf the table and never returned to finish the job. Another wait staff created the table, stating she would return to wipe it down before dessert. That didn’t happen. Finally, we asked for the bill twice since they forgot to provide it upon initial request. Overall disappointing but the seafood was top quality.

We were bitterly disappointed nobody asked us for a pre Drink nor did they ask as if we would like a wine!
We felt a bit neglected from a 5 star hotel! I would recommend to mentioned at the reservation about the 2 hour limit!
Never mind.
Hopefully next year it will be better!

To be honest, I was a bit sceptical about the Kitchens on Kent buffet offering when they first opened after the refurbishment, I couldn't understand the price tag for a meal where you have to walk around to get your own food. However, the current "buffet to table" format is brilliant. And great value. Service was impeccable, it was like a sit-down fine dining experience except you had the flexibility to order whatever you want whenever you want. Repeat the starters! Order the mains then the sides separately if you still have room! How about some more oysters! Then three rounds of dessert! The food quality was excellent too, especially the raw plate and the prawns. Would definitely recommend it.

I’m a regular customer of Kitchens on Kent buffet dining before the Covid. I’m always impressed with their combo of high food quality with great variety, free flow Laurent Perrier package and warm service. When Kitchens on Kent open for buffet to table in October we’re not disappointed. This is our second buffet to table experience but we’re greatly disappointed. Seafood quality - oysters, prawns, sashimi - all not as good as the October visit. The free flow wine package changed drastically. October visit it’s the Laurent Perrier 2008. This November visit the menu still say Laurent Perrier but we’re served Perrier Jouet NV. And the staff told us this is more expensive than Laurent Perrier 2008. I don’t want to argue. Totally disappointed.

Love this place, staff are very friendly and nice, service was great, the environment was great, but the food quality was not in a standard base on the hotel ranking. We pay extra to upgrade to include lobster which is super great! The seafood and all the cold plates all fresh and great, but the hot meat taste not great. Dessert was great too.

The buffet to table is a different buffet experience at this pandemic time but Kitchens on Kent do it beautifully. Quality food especially seafood- oysters, tiger prawns, bugs, sashimi, seafood linguine; approachable and attentive seafood; and the Laurent Perrier package. Everything matches perfectly. We’ll be back!!

Very elegant buffet style restaurant. Cater for a variety of tastes - seafood, indian, pizza, carvery, sushi bar. Felt very exclusive. Staff were quick to replenish plates, cutlery after each serving.

Can have made to order naan bread, noodles, etc.

Seafood was very fresh (though small portions). The lamb roast was divine and a nice variety of dessert options.

Very nice dining area (though I found the couches were a bit too soft and sunk into them; probably an idea to change this or place additional cushion pads to raise up to the table.

The Rose wine special offer was a nice touch to add further value to the experience.

Would definitely recommend dining here for a special occasion, in our case we were celebrating a wedding anniversary and my aunt's 60th.

After having been to both Melbourne and Sydney, it’s not worth the money and the variety and quality lacks compared Melbourne location. Very disappointed for $115 per person

Nice hotel and restaurant, great ambience, not a very large selection of food, the food was good but not exceptional. The table we had was very small for four people. Quite expensive even with the book 4 pay 3 promotion. More paying for dining at the location rather than for the quality and selection of the food. In the last hour of the dinner hour, staff were scattered, juice jugs weren't filled, dessert bar was completely unmanned and we had to scoop ice-cream ourselves. Throughout the entire night, our used dishes were being collected very slowly, and there were no area where we can put our used dishes.

Requested a crab knife from the waiter but was given the incorrect item, this lead me to cut my thumb with the crab shell. The front desk was good and got me some band-aids.

Delightful evening - possible to have tasting-sized portions of the wonderful food stations in the buffet. Stand out for me was the seafood station - sushi, sashimi, prawns, bugs, oysters, crab... Also delightful Indian, Chinese, Italian, carvery, all topped off with a delicious and bountiful dessert selection. A most enjoyable evening, and grateful for our waitress' suggestion of the newly procured chardonnay on the menu.

Absolutely phenomenal experience. Buffet taken to the next level.....incredible service from the staff....sushi and seafood 10/10....naan bread...to die for....only MINOR comment....dumplings and duck pancakes had been left out a little too long so weren't so good....other than that.. delicious. Also, super high quality desserts for a buffet.

Our experience overall was amazing. The hostess, the waiters were great and the food was really good quality.

My only fault was at 7:10 we were told by the waiter that we needed the table back by 7pm when our 2 hours was from 5:30-7:30 which was confusing. Maybe if they told us that we had to be out by 7 it would have changed things

Was a little disappointed in the experience to say the least , I booked in for Valentine’s Day and for the amount of money that was to be spent was left wanting! The service was ok but we were served a glass of champagne that was about a mouth full, the buffet although hosting quite a choice was lacking in flavour the meat was chewy, the prawns salty and the lobster that was on offer was overcooked and rubbery . We ordered sparkling water to start off with and had a glass each and the rest of the bottle disappeared.... we then ordered some cocktails and although pleasant when they arrived took 1/2 an hour to arrive !!!!.
This was supposed to be a special night but was disappointed. The service staff deducted the cost of the cocktails but not a good night !

Seafood offering are so inconsistent. Been there 3 times and the last time not only was there no crab but no sashimi! I can understand that the crab was substituted for the mussels on offer but when I asked about the lack of sashimi they said it was not available for lunch anymore. We chose Kitchen on Kent specifically for the sashimi so I was deeply disappointed that they have changed their lunch offerings.

Food was nice but not exceptional . Limited options in the hot food section of buffet & mediocre in flavour which was a let down , had higher expectations based on reviews & the hotel itself . Seafood was nice but all my oysters had grit in them. Dessert bar was good . Overall have had better seafood buffett’s at other hotels in Sydney. Still a lovely hotel with great service , although it now appears to be catering to the Asian middle class market & has lost some of its old English charm.

We had a table of 5 for a birthday lunch and it was relaxed. The drink waiter was professional and beverages were at hotel prices, higher end especially by the glass. Loved the different food stations something to suit everyone. The sweets were varied and attractively displayed.
A great lunch venue for a small group.

Too many people around the buffet and oysters small.
Our table was very untidy with crumbs under the table which they had the lunch dinner break to be able to attend too. My chair also had crumbs like children had been sitting there prior.
The price of the drinks was outrageous minimum price $17 and buffet sashimi and suckling pig portion sizes very small. Food items we’re taking a while to be topped up at the buffet
Had to ask twice for table water
