Delverde Pasta Stars

Wonderful atmosphere, great service and food. King and Godfrey’s make the best Aperol Spitzers in Melbourne.
I would have preferred to donate money to the restaurant rather than feel like a fool to pay $39 for ONE dry crumbed veal cutlet. My 20 year old son was still hungry. My husband's pasta main of Bucatini amatriciana, guanciale, chili was a disappointing kid's size. He was still hungry. The lasagne and eggplant parma were nice. The arancini, calamari and octopus entrees we shared were reasonably priced but nothing special to eat. I was so looking forward to Easter Sunday lunch here but was so disappointed.
While we had a lovely time, on a day that wasn't very busy our drinks didn't arrive until our food had been delivered and we had to ask for them. Then one of our dishes didn't arrive until we asked after everything else. We also had to ask for water on a few occasions. While the service was pleasant the servers themselves were a little offhand.
Disappointed. Entre and main course arrived at the same time. Entre was cold (bruscheta and over priced) and main course (Lasagne) was not hot.
Beautiful lightly battered calamari, toothsome chargrilled octopus and nicely presented salad. Good value wines by the glass.
Love this place. Staff were so friendly a d helpful. The food hearty, great quality and tasty. Authentic Italian. A great all rounder. Classy Lygon St Italian deli atmosphere. Can’t fault it!
The opening up of the seating area was good.
Some staff were confused with table delivery of drinks & food. Also received meals for 3 and had to wait for the 4th meal.
Luv anchovies but dish not good valve, otherwise food delicious.
Overall excellent, we were outside as such the heaters were over powering
Modern, noisy venue but visually appealing. Quite attentive floor staff, of which there are many, but very slow wine service which was disappointing. The food was reasonable but not exceptional in amy way.
Unfortunately we had 1hr and 40 minutes only as need to get to a show. Took ages to even get a drink at first and just as long to order food.
Entrees came out with one item missing, but then a big gap and no mains. Had to ask 2 separate waitresses to look into it. 2nd was helpful and got the meal coming. We made it to the show just as the first word was spoken.
Beautiful outdoor seating on a warm evening. The service drinks and food were all great!
The setting and food were lovely, unfortunately the waitress seemed angry and inconvenienced by the diners.
Used to come here a lot pre 2020 lockdowns. Completely understand that many businesses have been seriously affected by covid and some have struggled to keep going -so happy to support through patronage and even modest price increases. This place, however, is now serving significantly smaller portions, the menu options have changed, the quality is not what it was, and some of the drinks are literally half the size for the same price. The Happy Hour has been abolished and from my recent visits have taken the vibe with it. So, I reckon if I were K & G I'd be rethinking strategy as I'm definitely, after giving it a few goes now, no longer in a hurry to return and my 20 something daughters who loved to pop in even less inclined now. The manager (I assume) could also do with a short course in customer service. Really disappointed as it's been one of my favourite places for a while. Hope they find a way to recapture what they've lost.
Service was terrible. We had the longest delays between each individuals food being brought out. For a table of four, two of the guests had finished eating their meals before the other meals came out for the remaining two. No one apologised for the delay, just kept insisting that it would be two more minutes until it was out. It was more like 30 minutes.
The food was not great. We had the fish of the day which was $38 and was a tiny piece of fish and some lettuce. The minestrone was the consistency of water with a few chopped up bits of vegetables. There was no pasta inside which is typical of minestrone.
I've been a few times to K&G and I think it is consistently getting worse.
Yummy food but the pasta was tiny for the price it was! Bit disappointing because we had a great time otherwise
Lovely staff and amazing interior however the food available at lunch was a bit flavourless and underwhelming. There weren’t as many options available in the restaurant as there were advertised online. If there was more flavour in the food then it’d be a 10/10.
Great food and ambiance. Wait staff were a little too attentive, hovering and asking to remove plates that still had food on them - several times.
I had dined in King and Godfree in the previous week and found that was a complete contrast to this week. The previous week, service was excellent. This week, we were left with our menus and had to ask more than one staff member to take our order. The previous week we had water served when we arrived and then staff topped up our glasses. This week I had to ask for water! They were never refilled! When our meals arrived we had no cutlery. The staff member who brought our meal actually commented, “hasn’t anyone brought you cutlery?”It was a disappointing dining experience. I may come back given previous good experience. But I had hoped it would be a lovely outing for an older friend and was seriously let down on this occasion.
food portions were extremely small for what the price and tables are extremely small
Great friendly service & wonderful food.
We’ll definitely be back...
Everything was good from the Cotoletta to the lasagna and pasta. The drinks were fantastic too, especially the limoncello. We will be back for a sandwich at lunchtime
The web site was difficult to ,make a booking quite confusing but got there in the end.
Dining outside in cold and very windy conditions, heater not put on though they said it would be. We were offered blankets. Food was disappointing - delicious anchovy bruschetta, but overcooked and unremarkable lasagne. We couldn’t wait for our dinner to be over due to the weather and no heater!
Understandably it was at Christmas time, however the service was very very slow and took over an hour for three meals to arrive. The wine was brought out straight away though.
Had the best lunch at K&G. Our waiter was the best, so helpful and he was right about his suggestions of what to eat. All delicious. The wine was so good also. Thank you 🙏🏻
Was lovely, though we were outside and it was cold with the wind. Need protection and/or heating. :)
I booked a table in the deli for lunch with one of my best friend’s, to celebrate her birthday. We shared a few small plates - plain focaccia, arancini, calamari and prosciutto for a light lunch, which we washed down with Aperol Spritz and finished with cannoli. Everything was delicious - thank you!
The food quality is great but felt the menu was a bit limited in choice
The service was ok and no complaints in general but I feel could have been more engaging
The description of dishes wasn’t great and there was confusion on one of the meals served ie we expected bruschetta but received anchovies
Decor is ok but seems to lack something to be extra special
For Xmas period didn’t feel that xmasy and customers could be offered something small for free as appreciation and to celebrate
Enjoyed the food, suggest you leave bottle of water on table.
Had to always ask for a refill of the glass.
Would certainly retruen.
We were outside with quite a bit of traffic noise. Food was very good, small serves, and very good service. A bit over priced but bearable.
A nice simple menu, easy to decide. We shared arancini, octopus and calamari - all delicious. With a green salad, plus asparagus, very fresh and delicious. Also coffee was good and I tried an Italian white wine which I enjoyed (it came recommended). Also enjoyed the in-house shopping, buying some dips, olives, pates, pesto's and a Pan dei Siori to take home. Many thanks to all
The server forgot 2-3 items from our order over our dining period and did not apologise or offer anything as a result.
Fantastic evening, great wine recommendations and excellent service.
It's my favourite place to eat and have great coffee.
The food was okay, and the service is quite abrupt.
Great menu selection , delicious authentic Italian cuisine, super service, would definitely recommend.
Great food, great vib. waiters were lovel. will definitely go back
Fantastic food, incredible service, very much enjoyed our al fresco dining experience! Will be back again!
Delicious food and wine and fabulous cosmopolitan atmosphere. Terrific informed and accommodating staff who made the lunch effortless and enjoyable. A pleasure to come out of lock down for!
I enjoyed sitting outside on a balmy evening however the menu was underwhelming. I was interested in a tuna salad and was informed that the tuna was out of a tin - WTF!!!
I ended up having an eggplant parmagiana which was delicious but was very small and charged main-serve price. (The waiter did also agree that it was an unusually small serve!)
I do not usually write reviews but I was disappointed.
