Dinner before the Opera. We had good service this time. The food is always good. We were able to get to our talk before the opera so it was very good overall.
Mediocre food. Waiter was nice but had way too many tables. Not really worth the price
I find that the quality of the food has declined. There are fewer items on the menu and the preparation of some dishes is not as good. For example, the mussels have too much cream. I much prefer the more traditional version without cream.
Good food, great drinks, and very convenient to the music center venues
There are four of us in our theatre group and having tried many other eateries, we unanimously agree that Kendall's is our preference over all. We enjoy the variety of menu choices, the service and the ambiance. The servers make sure we get out on time to make our curtain time. It is part of our over all enjoyment of the entire afternoon. Yes, we do recommend Kendall's to our friends and family who plan to be in the area.
Took my sister for her birthday before a Saturday matinee at the Ahmanson theatre. Grace, our waitress, was very nice. She surprised us with a dessert treat for my sister on the house which was unexpectedly generous and appreciated.
Kendall’s is a great place to dine before you go to see anything at the Music Center.
Well done! Much appreciated. I’ll be back, Kendall’s!!
Thank you so much for the lovely birthday surprise for my mom! She and my nephew enjoyed themselves!
Bleach smell in dining area offensive. Noise level too high. Ability to get you in/out for theatre is good but prefer better food options for light dining.
The food was absolutely delicious and the service was nice. Will definitely eat here again!!
Kendall's has a varied menu and is open to special dietary requests. They aim to provide their patrons with many choices and excellent service. We had a lovely meal prior to attending a show and all of our needs were seen to without feeling like we were being interrupted from our conversation. It was a pleasure to dine with you!
I love coming here, and taking people out to dinner here when we have out of town visitors! It's also the best place to eat when going to a play. The menu never disappoints, and the biggest problem I have is narrowing down what I want to order! In fact, I have been known to order multiple dishes just because they are all so good!
Only issue I had was when I ordered a simple tanqueray & tonic cocktail, it was not well crafted or balanced between the tonic and gin. That seemed odd given its simplicity.
Very enjoyable. Meal was delicious and server was great and attentive.
I have been here a number of times. Rather pricy, but considering the location and good quality, not a problem.
The lighting is to bright, it has the ambiance and frenetic pace of cafeteria. The menu is limited. Food quality of what they had was very good, but not great (5*). Service ruined the evening, waiters swithched, couldnt get their attention, no notice we would be swithching waiters after our original waiter left. I only go there when attending a performance at the DCP.
Escargot was served cold and returned. Beef short rib was served luke warm. Wine was a Grand Cru, Clos de la Roche 2002 and saved the meal.
We were 8 at Kendall's before an opera performance. The service was courteous and efficient and the food was very good. It was a perfect pre-performance dinner spot. And, BTW, I changed the number in our reservation no fewer than 5 times and each time the hostess was courteous and accommodating. To top off this five star experience, we attended a lecture by James Conlon and a five star performance of La Traviata. A perfect evening.
Disappointed with the service this time around! Our waiter appeared “too busy” to provide much attention. Martinis were too watery, and with too much Vermouth. Service and drinks were significantly better on a prior visit. The food was consistently good.
The best place to have a bite to eat before shows at the Music Center.
Kendall's is always outstanding, just a delight. French onion soup like the French make!
There were five of us that went to the restaurant before seeing a play at the Wallis Annenberg theater. We all enjoyed the food and the ambience of the restaurant in the very cheerful and informative staff made the meal very enjoyable and the food was quite tasty.
We were seated in the small library, which has less charm than other parts of the restaurant, and was very loud even with only four tables.
We had reservations and they put us in a dingy annex room with no other people. Not what we were expecting.
Kendalls is a great place to go before a Music Center performance
they know how to get you out on time
I had such a lovely time, I was on my own, with a book to read before going to the Opening Night of "Happy Days" with Dianne Wiest, at the Mark Taper. There were many theatre-goers at the other tables, with a sense of excitement in the air. The butter lettuce salad with chicken added was superb!
Excellent food and service. A little expensive, but overall worth it.
Whenever we are going to an event on Bunker Hill (museum or performing arts performance), we try to eat at Kendall's. The food is wonderful and the service is always excellent. It is super convenient. There are usually regulars at the bar who are always interesting to talk with. To sum it up, great food and service in a friendly atmosphere.
The waiter was amazing and I really loved the food. But the manager was incredibly rude with us, such a dame the way he talks to costumers.
They were very good to keep our table open even though we were 15 minutes late. We still got the table we wanted. As usual, after a performance it was super-busy, so the waiter was efficient but harried. The food was excellent... the onion soup flavorful but not too salty as is often the case - and the tagliatelle was lightly creamy but not overly rich. Good wines on offer too, and fun people watching.
This is a great place to eat because not only is the food good but it is close to Disney Hall, Chandler Pavillion and Mark Taper. It is always crowded and noisy but it is a good vibe. My risotto was exceptionally tasty due to the asparagus and green beans. My friend's beef short ribs was outstanding (so tender!) and I will have that next time. The floating island is a nice, light, although very sweet, dessert.
Great location when going to the Music Center or Disney Hall. Nice menu for a meal before or after a concert or play.
The food was served in a timely manor. Service was fine food was good
We went to Kendall’s Brasserie because it’s close to the Disney Hall.
We’ve been here in the past but I haven’t wanted to return in a long time.
The food is ok, nothing great. I had Skuna salmon covered with bread crumbs. The salmon had no flavor.
We won’t return again.
Love Kendall's. My favorite is the grilled calamari.
We came to this restaurant for the first time for a pre-performance dinner. Kendall's was lively and had a nice charm. The French bread and garlic calamari were delicious starters. The follow-up dishes - French onion soup, endive salad and skirt steak - were equally tasty and delivered promptly with good service.
The only disappointment was my attempt to order a glass of Carpano antica vermouth, which I had seen in a recent Yelp posting for this locale. The waitress claimed they didn't have it since it wasn't listed on the dinner menu, and she wouldn't check with the bar about vermouth availability. This seems odd since vermouth is a common ingredient for martinis and Manhattans.
We will likely return for another pre-performance dinner.
best waitress sylvaine ,fast ,polite, does not keep bothering asking questions and remember order perfectly ..even when you have a picky guest!
The food is great. But it seemed that they favored the regular customers over us, even though it was our anniversary.
Love this Place! The food seems to have gotten even better. It's a pre-theatre standard for us!
We love the restaurant. Everything was delicious. The food was interesting and the way the bread is served is fun.
Service was excellent, and that was critical for us because we planned our dinner around going to a play at the Ahmanson. We will come back whenever we are downtown.
Waiter was very slow and it took 20+ minutes to get our wine served.
