A family friendly, modern Greek restaurant. Catering to dietaries, large bookings or private functions, as well as takeaway options. It is so natural for the Greeks to be drawn to hospitality roles that there is even a word with deep historical significance to describe it. ‘philoxenia’ ~ translating to ‘friend of a stranger’ (philos: friend and xenia: stranger).     We went with our family to Kala for my husbands birthday. The starters were nice and tasty but simple. The mains and sides were interesting but I did not get the ‘Greek’ influence as it didn’t have that wow factor that you’d expect! I’ve never had a authentic Greek salad with lettuce in it. Overall it was nice , but small serves , expensive and unfortunately not true Greek.

    Gorgeous food. Perfect for our coeliac daughter - places like this are hard to find. So much care taken. We loved it. Will be back.

    Friendly and efficient staff enhanced our dining experience. Our shared plates were delicious and we were almost last to leave. Thanks for being open on a Monday, when many other eateries are closed. Highly recommend Kala for a group gathering.

    Was meeting up with a friend while visiting from Perth and found most restaurants in Ocean Grove are closed on Mondays. Found Kala while googling and booked for the 3 of us. What a find. Our booking was for 6.45pm and on arrival found the quaint restaurant was pretty full. The staff were friendly, and the food was delicious. We ordered the saganaki, sausage and calamari for entree, followed by the moussaka, lamb shoulder and Greek salad for mains. We shared and enjoyed all of it. Great experience, highly recommend.

    Just a lovely experience, the food was very good and plentiful. The service was of a high standard and the ambiance was relaxing. We need to go back and try a few more dishes. Not the cheapest of Restaurants but you get what you pay for today.

    Food was excellent , extremely tasty, all lamb to die for. Service , excellent also , friendly , attentive and a lot of fun . Greek wines recommended, was a really good choice . Thanks great night had by us all
