Kaido features small plates, crudos, robatayaki and other dishes focusing on fresh ingredients and bright local and international flavors. Kilgore’s unique style shines in the form of sharable appetizers, such as the uni Fondue and Wagyu Katsu Sandwich, perfectly complimenting de Soto’s beautiful cocktails and large format drinks for the table, and forging a seamless and adventurous culinary marriage in the heart of the Design District.

Food was great, actually was very impressed. They went wrong way w decor and ambiance, and music was way to electronic and loud. Inside of place is small so should be cozy
Great food and service. Cocktails delicious!
Great experience. Owner came to the table and talked to us about the menu. It was a super great time.
Good service and ambiance, food is terrible !
The food was on point, we really enjoyed ourselves. The place is small and the tables are tiny so I wouldn't recommend it for a big group.
Amazing food, the best in Miami for sure.service was even better. I hope i get the same server when i go back. Andreu.
We had a fun time with delicious food & great service from Andrew and Daniel.
Visited Kaido this past weekend for date night with my hubby and all I can say is, they delivered exquisitely. The ambience, music, decor, and food were all up to par. We especially loved the intimacy Ama has to offer, it’s something we’ve experienced in restaurants out of state but never in South Florida. Nice to see Brad and his team thought outside the box for this creation. I definitely recommend visiting regardless of the occasion and although this may sound cliche, the fondue dish is a must.
Great food, ambience and service. Over all great experience.
Brad, Z and co. pulled out the red carpet to make my parents anniversary most special. Thank you again to the Kaido team for going above and beyond on a special night. Can’t wait to be back soon and bring the family to experience the amakase (and try Ember too).
Cocktails are sublime, especially their take on the Old Fashioned and the Kenishi. Some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. Food is very good too, especially the dumplings and mushroom, both umami bombs. It is clear the team put serious thought into every detail of the experience, from the design of the restaurant, which is tastefully well done and unique, to the plating, silverware, etc. Our server Andrew was very hands on. Friendly and passionate, which is what you want from a server and we appreciated his passion, but a bit much of each. We will be back soon.
Awesome decor. Fresh food with outstanding preparation and presentation. Staff, especially Jamie were unbelievable
Kaido is an intimate cocktail lounge with a very cool vibe. I enjoyed a Nikkei Sour served in an open faced bamboo box garnished with a slice of nori and 3 perfectly lined drops of bitters while admiring the grand chandelier above that's composed of at least a thousand gold hand knives. Asian/Japanese-inspired, tapas style deliciousness satisfied my taste buds with plates such as the Portuguese Octopus with Thai Romesco, Thai Bass with Smoked-Onion Ponzu Broth, and the Korean Style Short Ribs with Gochujang and Roasted Garlic. Each dish was simply elegant in its presentation and harmonious in their combination of flavors that made my mouth (and belly) very happy!
Service, ambience and great food! Got a tour of Theo secret room. I’ll definitely be going back! Kilgore fans!!!
Great food. Great ambiance and atmosphere. Good for drinks or dinner. Definitely worth a try.
This is a great restaurant. The food was delicious. The service was great. Our waitress recommended great food and sake. We will definitely be returning.
Outstanding food, service & decor. All the food is exceptional! Don’t miss the the uni fondue & the pork and mushroom dumpling. Drinks are also excellent! We enjoyed every minute.
Great overall! Private bar in the back was fun too
Elena took care of us. Unfortunately she’s leaving KAIDO. Great food
Went for dinner the other night. The food was just ok, which isn’t good enough given the price. The seafood was not fresh and they served raw fish on the warm side. The cocktails were pretty good and the service was attentive.
Food was mediocre. The uni fondue stood out.
Dinner with friends we haven’t seen in over a year
The restaurant is very cool - fantastic ambience. The bartenders are great and overall the service is very good. The food is just okay. Very small portions even when comparing to Chotto Matte, KYU and Zuma. I didn't care for their specialty - cheese fondue with seafood.
Your taste buds will go wild !
Amazing food, the chef came out and presented himself, it was a great experience!
Well food was good in general but i made a reservation for a table and when i got there they wanted to sit me outside where theres no A/C and told me they had reservations for tables inside... and i said... thats what i did... they wanted me to eat then at the bar and it is a little uncomfortable to eat the bar because of the chairs so after 1 hour they sat me in a small table... this was my second time visiting this restaurant but definitely the first time was the best for the amakase... but making a reservation “at the regular dining area thru opentable app” doesn’t guarantee you a comfortable table so i have learned my experience 😞if its not amakase reservation i better not show up!
What a treat! Exquisite presentation and cuisine. Every dish was a gastronomic experience. Highly recommend!!
I had a great experience at Kaido and as good as it was I know it'll be better next time. I was with 2 of my friends that don't eat beef. So we didn't order the short ribs or the beef tartare. They both look amazing. We did have some great dishes though including the Floridian Fugu, Uni Fondue, Enoki Mushrooms, Blue Crab Rangoon, Pork & Shrimp Dumplings and Thai Bass. Those were the dishes that really stood out. I know it seems like I just listed the whole menu, but I didn't. The menu is diverse. At first I was disappointed to hear the Fugu was not lionfish sashimi on that particular night because they didn't catch any good lionfish that week. So they brought me fluke sashimi. I have a feeling she wasn't gonna tell me unless I asked. And I did. It didn't look like lionfish. But I still loved the dish. The coconut dessert was great as well. I recently got back from Japan so I was pleased to see they have a great Japanese Whiskey selection too. We definitely indulged. I can't wait to bring my girlfriend back there so we can try the other dishes.
This food is amazing, but you’re literally in a mall. That should probably be highlighted somewhere...
Small portions, but excellent!
Perfect as always, start to finish. Everything is done to a superb level
Worst ever never had worst service food and drinks
Great decor for such an intimate restaurant.
Food scores high for it’s creativity, taste and presentation.
Service not at same caliber as the food and decor. The waiter tried too hard and way to long winded when explaining the menu and dishes... actually annoying!
Cool place and recommend to experience as a couple.
Was in town for a few days. Truly remarkable food experience. The waiter was wonderful in his recommendations and pace in which food was served. Can’t wait to come back. Let me not forget to mention the chocolate dessert was decadent. The mushroom dumpling was superb. Short ribs amazing. Nothing I would change.
Service was excellent
Service was very slow to start. Waiter asked if I prefer a large ice cube in my tequila drink and as usual I said yes. He recommended a cocktail to my gf and said if she didn’t like it then no problem to change it. When the $400 bill came the cocktail she didn’t like and returned was on the bill along with a $4 charge for the ice cube! Really? I complained and the manager immediately removed those charges but still it felt like they were trying to screw me if I wasn’t paying attention
Great food and service. The restaurant is stunning no expense spared. The Owner was extremely nice and made sure we were taken care of. Def will be back again.
This review is simple. Chef Brad Kilgore is simply a genius.
I’d put him in category of the best of the best. Also, service was excellent. All servers are truly excited about the food and Kilgore’s creativity. Ambiance is great as well. KAIDO and ALTER (Kilgore’s other restaurant) are favorites. Anyone we send loves both.
In my opinion this is currently the best restaurant in Miami! Food is creative, innovative, and the flavor is unmatched! The speak easy is outstanding, the bar ambiance is on point, I only wish the space was bigger! The dinning tables are a little to close to other guests to make this a romantic restaurant, that’s its only downfall.
