Very attentive staff, without being over the top. We had the bottomless brunch menu and the food was devine! Absolutely will recommend and would love to go back
This newish Indian restaurant is a pleasure to dine in with lovely ambience and good food. This menu offering is good with ample of vegetarian and vegan options so you will definitely not be disappointed if you're in one of these categories. With many Indian restaurants springing up off late and some of them not that great this one certainly stands out and is sure to stand the test of times! In fact it even beats some of the more established restaurants which have been in London for quite sometime now and have opened more and more branches with diminishing quality!
Pricing is good for the location and sits well within budget.
We'll definitely visit again!
Loved Kahani. Went here to celebrate a new job and it's an amazing place to celebrate. The service is quick and smooth. Everyone is friendly and most of all, the food is delicious. If I had to say one thing negative, perhaps that the portions could be a little bit bigger on a couple of the veggies mains (but that's picky!). Generally loved it all round and would definitely go back.
This was the most fabulous food I have ever eaten - fantastic vegan menu with great service and quality will definitely visit again
Fantastic food & drink, lovely interior, very polite staff, very clean throughout. only criticism, I feel the waiters could be a little clearer when bringing over the food (we had the tasting menu and although we roughly knew what the dish was, we couldn't hear the waiter when he talked us through it). I also think they could be slightly more attentive, we had to ask for another bottle of water and a beer, not a huge issue as we are more than happy to do so however, they could notice things a little quicker and offer their services. All in all though a fantastic experience with amazing food!
Had the unlimited processco brunch, amazing food, atmosphere and service, will definitely be coming back!
Absolutely outstanding food, but without sacrificing portion size. Highly, highly recommend.
Very happy of our experience at this restaurant - after reading the good reviews we had some expectations, and we haven't been let down. We choose a couple of entrees (the samosa were really good) and two main courses - the specials are really special. Service is attentive and the accomodation is cozy, not too noisy.
Good place for a pre-concert bite in you've tickets for Cadogan Hall. Attentive service, excellent food and not too overwhelming if you're eating early. Perfect, too, if you've a vegetarian or vegan among your guests. The pre-theatre menu offers a lot of choice and is nicely judged. I'm glad to have discovered Kahani.
I had booked a Sunday bottomless Brunch. When we arrived at the restaurant waiter escorted us to our table. He gave us the menu for Sunday Roast Dinner and la carte Menu ( but not mentioned the Sunday bottomless menu) , we had to ask the Sunday Buttomless menu.
The food was amazing and service was very good too. We could not even eat half of the food which was on Sunday Bottomless menu.
I would go back to the restaurant.
Excellent food however we ordered the tasting menu and after 35-40 mins had only had 1 of the 6 courses. We mentioned this to our waiter and service did speed up to an acceptable level overall a good experience.
Delicious best Indian food outside Indi!
Also a charming and very helpful Albanian waiter served
Innovative Indian food served in small or larger sizes allowing one to experience greater choices. A good choice after visiting the Royal Court theatre.
Great food in a lovely surrounding. Limited menu choice but what is there is beautiful. My only negative comment is that the wine is unnecessarily expensive. I would go back and will recommend to friends.
delicious indian restaurant focussing on modern renditions with grill specialities. the scallop was sensational the grilled guinea foul was juicy and tasty. the pulau rice was nothing special, but more than made up for by the comforting dhal duo. service was well timed, informative and charming. a beautiful basement space, lucky Chelsea residents if they find it off Sloane Street!
We had the pre-theatre menu which was very good value, although the portions are not huge. The food was tasty and beautifully presented. We were given a lovely table, in place of the one first offered and service was attentive. We hope to return to try the full menu.
Kahani is a fair restaurant that could be a good restaurant with just one critical change. They need to serve the food hot and on hot plates. Cold plates and cold serving dishes take the gloss off even the best food. As a result, I would say that it does not yet offer value for money. Other than that, it was good.
Wonderful restaurant with creative dishes and excellent wine pairings in a stylish and modern dining room.
Great Indian food, wonderful place with great service. The food was special, one of the best Indian meals I have had in a long time. The restaurant is modern, with a lovely bar with some good cocktails. Highly recommend and we will be back soon.
The tasting menu was amazing... Only I was expecting a little bit more from the dessert.
51st Wedding anniversary celebrations.
My husband and I went for an anniversary dinner. We chose the 4 course tasting menu, with wine pairing. The waiter was very attentive and the sommelier chatty and knowledgeable. The first two courses were really tasty, particularly the tandoori stone bass. The byriani and curries were ok, but probably not to the standard I would expect from an upmarket Indian restaurant. For example the lamb in the byriani was tough. I’m Indian so I know what a good byriani tastes like! I did let the waiter know. Dessert was good. Overall very good experience, and I would recommend the place for a special occasion.
This is a very good genuine curry, excellent spicing, and well prepared. This is now my best curry restaurant in London
We had taster menu which was excellent. Quite expensive but a lovely mix of flavours .
Great service and the food was full of flavour. They definitely didn’t hold back on the spice.
The trio chicken tikka was my favourite along with the chick peas
Fantastic place. Food was amazing. Timings inbetween courses was somewhat slow.
Great seating area.
Other than slow service this was a great surprise for us.
I loved the ambiance for dinner and the food was amazing! I highly recommend their starters as they were beautifully prepared and was as tasteful as the main course or even more.
The food was lovely and the staff were all very friendly and attentive without being overbearing, we were there for the Sunday roast and it was quite quiet which is a shame when the food was so good, however we were there early so hopefully it filled up later as far inferior restaurants seem to popular for Sunday lunch!
Excellent food but the tasting menu portions were very small. One scallop, one tandoori prawn, one tiny lamb chop, not in the same dish though, these were separate courses. A starter and main with sides would probably be better value. Lovely little restaurant with friendly staff and amazing food. Well worth a visit.
The food was really fantastic. Although it does come with a price tag the ingredients are first rate. The service was smart, considered and friendly. We will be returning.
We opted for the tasting menu as we wanted to try multiple dishes. The scallop course is probably the most enjoyable and tasty scallop I've ever had. How you can have so many spices and flavours but yet still taste the mild creamy flavour of the scallop I'll never know.
I swapped the king prawn course for broccoli and it did not disappoint. The only thing I didn't like about the tasting menu is that most customers around us had tables full of food, bowls of curry, rice and naan and we could smell everything. We wanted everything that everyone else had as it smelt amazing.
Luckily, the last course of the tasting menu includes all of these things and it's a wonderful crescendo to the menu.
Next time we're in London we'll be going but this time we'll pick several dishes from the main menu. Definitely try the tasting menu for your first visit. It's worth every penny.
Kahani positions itself at the high end of Indian Cuisine but sadly my experience was so far off the mark. Our reservation was for two people and we were sat at a table suitable for 6 directly under a light bulb that flickered. We asked to move and have the heating turned up as myself and several other diners sat in coats! Food orders were taken before drinks, the starters took over an hour to arrive despite it not being a particularly busy service. Sadly this meant when the food did arrive, we were so hungry we would have eaten anything.
The food itself was forgettable - we had starters, main and dessert, all below average. A watery curry, watery dahl, and a trio of tandoor chicken which was dry and lacklustre and a Gulab Jamun 'bits' chocolate bomb that was tasteless and again - very watery. I do commend the cocktails which were fantastic and perfectly designed to compliment the Indian theme.
Sadly, overall the lack of attention to detail or apology from the staff for the wait in the food, coupled with the poor food and flat atmosphere would make me strongly recommend against visiting this place. You'll feel shortchanged for experience vs value.
The food was sublime. As a vegan it was incredible.
It was wonderful! the only little thing is that we were put in the big tables with booths behind a screen and felt cut out from the lovely atmosphere of the rest of the restaurant
Lovely lunch, contemporary Indian food in lovely surroundings
Really good service 👌 the food was excellent the teka lamb chops was to die 🤤
Fantastic food and service. Highly recommend is new restaurant in Chelsea.
Very good food, enjoyed occasion with family
We had a superb experience at Kahani having booked because of seeing it on MasterChef. What a treat! Would definitely recommend and go again. The food was exquisite and the staff absolutely fantastic. Such a lovely restaurant too - we could even watch the chefs in the kitchen. Overall a brilliant experience.
