Our entrees of spanakopita, cheese croquettes and fava were very good. Our shared main of lamb and potatoes was disappointing, lacking in flavour. Service was very good.

Starters were great but the mains were underwhelming, nothing special for the price. Service was great from a male waiter, the female waitresses were strangely over sexualized, with one wearing an inappropriately low cut top and all with lots of make up.

Booked 3 months in advance for a table for 3. We were taken right down to back of restaurant to a tiny table that was only set for 2. We had to ask if there was another table as we clearly were not going to fit. What’s the point in booking if they don’t even have an appropriate table ready. Service was good but food want very Greek or interesting.

This is THE BEST Greek restaurant in Melbourne if you want to taste traditional Greek dishes. Been here a couple of times now and I feel everything gets better each time. The service is amazing. Friendly staff who ensure your every question is answered and also provide suggestions on menu options, specials and wine pairing. The menu so good, the taramasalata, the cheese balls, the beef and the orange cake are must try dishes. Vast wine and drinks selection. Kafeneion is located in what used to be The Supper Club a Melbourne institution. Nothing has been taken away from this art deco moody architecture, Kafeneion has just added a Greek flare and it is a winning combination.

We had a wonderful night with a group of us. Food very good and service fabulous! The only downside was the very expensive drinks!
