Indoor and outdoor restaurant seating, and function spaces available.
Have been about 5 times now and the menu is always changing to keep everything fresh. Staff are always really nice. Food is always always so dam flavoursome and tasty. Keep kicking goals Joybird
Our second trip to Joybird did not disappoint. It is a place that encourages food sharing. The service is a standout. We will definately return!
Little bit noisy and a bit cold, but the food was great and pretty good value. Moist and tasty chicken, crunchy chips, awesome gravy! Cant wait to have the stuffing and gravy butty next time when I'm feeling very skinny!!
Lovely food. Helpful staff. Noise level too high. Not the cheapest but very well done. Exceptionally clean.
We were met by such friendly and professional service staff that we knew we were in for a great dining experience. Having never eaten at Joybird before the service staff helped us navigate the menu, including advice on which cocktail I should choose. We were also impressed by how the chef came and talked through the dishes as he placed them in front of us. We couldn't believe how reasonably priced the dishes were. The music was great and the venue had such a good vibe. Have already recommended Joybird to friends and colleagues. Thank you for a great experience :)
Great service, delicious food and a great change to the Adelaide food scene.
Menu continues to evolve..
Bring back the scotch eggs!
Good food. Moderate sized portions, the char grilled cabbage with pesto and nuts was amazing. Fried chicken with curry sauce melt in mouth. Service was good and attentive just one suggestion maybe they should write orders down, us plus others have said they forgot food when memorizing orders. But would definitely go back.
Very disappointing, went with friends after reading positive reviews. Restaurant was busy and noisy from patrons & loud music. Waitress was busy & not very friendly. The food was also disappointing in that the pork skewers very quite spicy & tough (chewy) not succulent pork belly as we know it and with only a few slices of iceberg lettuce as an accompaniment was poor. One person out of the four of us got a really nice meal!
The service was excellent but the food was expensive for reasonably small portions
Unfortunately the experience was spoiled by kitchen staff shouting to each other very close to where people were dining. The food was excellent and the service was very good though.
On arrival, music in the restaurant was really loud & it was difficult to hear the person sitting next to you at the same table.
Food was overcooked.
Service was really average.
Really tasty food for the whole family and a great layout!
Delicious food and great service
absolutely blown away by the food! Service was great, they didn’t linger or hurry us out. Have recommended it to all my friends!
Amazing food and ambience! The staff are really friendly and helpful!
I’m sorry but the food wasn’t anything special and we took interstate guests on a recommendation. The toilets smelled, which is a huge negative in a restaurant. We were very disappointed
Overpriced. Underwhelming. Very expensive for a glorified chicken shop with little care and attention to the food. Fast food at mid range restaurant prices. Not worth it. Will not be back.
Great food, great drinks and awesome people. Good times had by all!!!
Just yummy - great atmosphere and amazing tasty food. We over ordered and took home a takeaway bag with left overs. Just as good the next day!
The place was energetic... code for quite noisy! if you are looking for a quiet spot for a conversation maybe this isn’t the spot. If you are happy with noise, tasty food with a good variety to chose from then this is a great choice! Service was good.
I was so excited and looking forward to dining at Joybird. I have to be honest and say I was a bit disappointed. The food was OK; nothing outstanding and I thought it was expensive. I know it’s early days so I’ll wait and go back again. Biggest disappointment was the chips (a chicken shop has to have amazing chips) and the tastiest item was the corn. Ambience was good but felt like, as we were a bit older, we were being encouraged to wrap it up. Having said all that, I have to commend the two young waitresses who were knowledgeable, upbeat and lovely.
Staff were lovely, very friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Food was delicious
Nice atmosphere. However, the food tastes okay and is overpriced.
The deep fried wings for entree were crispy and tasty. The "joybird" marinated chicken was bland and lacking in flavour: the "firebird" was simply hot, again without flavour. The chips were crunchy and very tasty. The service was very good. For the price I think there are better options for a simple "chicken and chips" dinner.
Food was amazing. The waitress let the place down. Couldn’t even show us to our table, just pointed to it. Some of our order never arrived. Waitress spilled water on our table. Maybe Sunday’s aren’t her thing.
Food was delicious however, not much waiting time either. Would definitely go back.
It’s noisy. The food is ok. It’s a bit like chicken shop meets Hard Rock Cafe. I love roast chicken and it would have been nice to have a plain option. And my local chicken shop does great chips - here, not so much.
Fantastic food despite our mains taking a very long time to come out and I had to chase.
Went for lunch and waited 40+ minutes for a basic meal of chicken and salads. Food was very average for the price and wait. Would not go back unless something drastically changes.
Expensive chicken and chips. Left hungry. Flat soft drinks (from dispenser). Poor service from wait staff.
everything else was great except that the music was way too loud for us to really enjoy the meal and chat
The food was delicious overall... The dishes simple, tasty and good portion size for the price. Only a few let downs, the chips on the side of one serve were cold, cheesecake wafers were tasty but hastily put together. Not too keen on warm cheesecake in some ice cream wafers for $10.. and music a bit too loud to hold a conversation with our other guests.
Ambience is lovely, busy but efficient staff, and fabulous chicken! Overall definitely will be back
Amazing venue cranking old music. Like stepping back in time to an old chicken shop. The chicken was very nice and moist. Service was quick and the waiters attentive.
Very nice casual resultant. I will be a repeat customer.
Great food and impeccable service! All in all everything was tasty and well executed.
10/10 service and a really great fit out. Catered well to a big group of us and had great options for the vegos at the table. Great value for money will definitely be back!
A bit overpriced for chicken and chips but was delicious. A nice fusion of Asian, fresh and interesting.
Great music but a bit noisy if you want to chat over dinner.
Cocktail and drinks list had something for everyone.
100% will be back to Joybird ASAP! Can not fault anything! We loved it all!!
We had read numerous articles on Broadsheet and watched the construction of Joybird evolve. My partner and I booked a table for 9pm. The front of house person greeted us with a warm smile, took my name and said our table won’t be long, and took us to the bar, we were offered a drink and within minutes taken to our table.
Our waitress was friendly and professional. Absolutely no criticism of front of house.
The room stank of chicken fat and our clothes absorbed the smell, not good. As for the food we ordered a whole chicken, with fries, plus a slaw.
The chicken wasn’t awful, but nor did it have a wow factor, I’d been expecting, especially at $32. The seven spice chicken was ok, however the bone chicken gravy was woeful... tasted like cheap powder gravy. The space is really noisy, all hard services and sound just bounces.
It’s an expensive chicken shop, and to be honest I’ve had better elsewhere.
Recommend they lift their product to be the best bloody chicken in Adelaide if they want to keep charging those prices, happy to pay if it’s special. the chicken skin wasn’t even crispy, so won’t go back unless I hear outstanding reports that they’ve addressed noise, improved the food product and sorted their extraction.
Ps the slaw was salty
Unfortunately didn’t live up to the hype. A place with an impressive fit out like this should have awesome food. However- Underwhelming food, long wait, small serves. Will perhaps wait and give them another go in a few months.
Was looking forward to this new restaurant, as my family, friends and I love Shobosho.
Unfortunately, they forgot three out of the four orders. When reminded, the staff were very apologetic.
When the food finally came out, another dish was forgotten.
They seemed more interested in catering for their take-away orders, than for their seated customers.
The food was tasty, but I had maybe 75 grams of chicken in my wrap, so overall very disappointed.
