Josephine's Filipino Restaurant London
Authentic Filipino food served in nice surroundings. Good service and lots of choice on the menu.
Really good quality food, although a little pricey. I shall certainly return on another occasion.
The food is really delicious. We enjoyed everything we ordered. Had read some reviews about miscalculated bills and it's all hang written and so we double checked ours and it was wrong. They need to work on this to ensure they don't get a bad reputation because the food is great.
Good food cooked in a traditional way ! Worth a try !
Food was the weak point here which is a pity. I don't have any experience of Filipino food so have nothing to compare to but we just didn't rate the food. I'm veggie and my dining companion not. We had two veggie roll starters_ one fried like a spring roll (dark and very crispy) the other soft ( including soft veggies) and covered in a very sweet sugary sauce ( far too sweet for my palate). For main I had veg and tofu in peanut sauce which was very thick and peanutty but without the relief of chilli or citrus. I polished it off but wouldnt order again. The chicken my dining companion chose was apparently just not nice. We were served a shared plain white rice - perfectly nice but heaped on a plate rather than in a bowl so hard to serve! Salad side was fine.
Service was great. Very helpful and our water glasses were kept topped up. Bottled beers were cold and refreshing. Restaurant is basic, plastic tablecloth and dated decor.
We wont be returning because the food wasn't to our taste.
A very nice meal with friendly staff and good service in nice surroundings. I'm looking forward to coming back here sometime in the future...
Food was authentic and amazing but place needs a clean up and upgrade
Good food and service. Little bit run down but an authentic experience
Amazing Filipino flavours and Jack is attentive without being intrusive. We really enjoyed the Lechon Kawali and Chicken Adobo. Aubergine omelette was also amazing, all freshly prepared in-house by Josephine, who emerged from the kitchen later. Would definitely recommend this place to anybody curious or wanting to try Filipino cuisine
Always very good but like all London restaurants, becoming quite expensive, but worth it if you enjoy or want to try Filipino food and Red Horse Beer.
Pretty expensive. And the rice was like Uncle Bens. Not jasmin rice like in the Philippines.
We had a good time last Wednesday and left the restaurant really full. :)
We arrived early as it was raining, Kuya allowed us to enter as we have kids but the other person/waiter was not very happy to see us inside. It was a long wait for the food, the waiter who is also a Filipino looked so stress because our kids were so excited and were playful. It was a bit rude of him looking at us with his facial expressions.
Craving Filipino food after eating out for 4 consecutive days. Found this restaurant as the closest one from our hotel. The place is easy to find and if you go to their website, it provides good information with regards to their location. Ordered Sinigang, Eggrolls and Pinakbet. They were all tasty! Unfortunately there is only 1 person who takes the order. He is also the person who serves your order. Because of this 1 person doing both jobs, order taking and serving the food is very slow. In addition to slowness, since he was the only one doing all these, he ended up forgetting to serve our drinks (such as Dalandan and Coconut juices). After we waited for a while, we followed up and he said that they ran out of Dalandan juice but they still have coconut juice. Told him to go ahead and cancel the Dalandan but proceed with the coconut juice. Again waited for a long time since he was the only one who was doing everything. To make the story short, he forgot the coconut juice too. Didn’t follow up anymore as we can tell he was overwhelmed with order taking and serving at the same time. Not sure who is the owner of this restaurant but it would be great to add 1 more person to help out. The food is great but the service is SO slow not to mention the fact that the person serving no longer smile probably because he was so overwhelmed that you feel uncomfortable bothering him and that you just want to finish eating and get out. It’s sad because I really do think that this restaurant would have more customers if there would be more staff to serve customers.
