Jose - Dallas
Food was very good, bar service was great too, only downfall was having to wait long for a table even though we had made a reservation, but, that is Dallas !
The food was not disappointing, we returned with a friend, who was less than pleased last time and has turned his opinion into a enthusiastic thumbs up. The drinks are always some of my faves, and the fact that a 'Carajillo' is available on the menu makes me like it more. (I hate having to describe that to places to make it for me) We ventured and tried the salmon y avocado and it was SUPER flavorful and spicy (I'm a whimp) but I kept eating it. My friends did not think it was as spicy as i thought it was, so take that as you may. The other new item tried was the impossible cake, so much goodness! The taste, the textures and the presentation all great!
Light, modern, airy ambience feels like your outside. Incredible food! We had the salmon stuffed avocado and the flavors were wonderful! Excellent Benedict, too! Get it with the sausage! Pricy, but deserving cocktails. We.’lol definitely be back!
Anastacia is the best chef in Dallas for Tex Mex or true Mex. We follow wherever she goes. And as always Jose’s food has improved immeasurably since her arrival.
Expensive & small drinks. Found hair in my entree and cilantro rice was way over salted. So disappointed. Second chance and failed. Will not be back & will not recommend.
Delicious food and great service. The restaurant is beautiful.
Really loved our server, fidel- food was good but the “avocado” toast wasn’t my favorite. It needs more toasty-ness and more avacado. Maybe a side of sometbing like sour cream or even a sour cream avacado mixture? We will be back!
It was an excellent experience, for the most part. We got there a bit early and were told our table was not ready. This was not a problem as we anticipated having to wait. We sat at the bar, and the bartender gave us the option to have dinner at the bar which we did. Food and service were excellent, and we were pleased with our experience. However, we received an email from Open Table telling us that we never checked in and considered us a ”no show.” Clearly, that was not the case. There seemed to have been a gap in communication. We cleared this with Open Table.
Four of us went on Saturday night, and the restaurant was very busy. Two of us arrived early, and the hostess declined to seat us until the entire party arrived, but she seated us as soon as our entire party was there. The service was excellent, and the food was very good. We had pork riblets and queso fundido for appetizers and Park Cities enchiladas and crab enchiladas for main courses. The restaurant has a large patio outdoors, and the indoor portion is basically one big room with a bar and numerous tables throughout the room. It was entirely too loud to be able to converse with our excellent waiter, Carlos, and the others in our party without shouting. It is a very casual venue and quite comfortable other than the noise. As Carlos pointed out, the menu is traditional Mexican, not Tex-Mex. We most likely will return.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Jose's on Saturday. The food, drinks and ambiance were all enjoyable and we will be back soon.
Our son recommended Jose after dropping in for brunch one Sunday, and we have been now multiple times and have enjoyed it every single time. Food is fresh from local farms, and always on point. We have recommended Jose to many friends - all whom have been most impressed. One of our fave spots in D (we live in Longview) Jose is a a destination for any meal or special occasion. We were there with friends today earlier for brunch - can’t wait to go back!
Ya'll... You MUST go and you MUST ask for Joey and don't tell him what you want. LET HIM tell you what you NEED. He has an intuitive understanding for food and drinks, listens SO well, and totally loves what he does. We were so sad to only have drinks and a few apps and will DEFINITELY go back ASAP for a full meal!
I normally love the food, but I really didn't care for the gazpacho. It looked and tasted like green goop. I'll stick to my favorites.
This is definitely a trending spot. Our waiter was very knowledgable and gave us good descriptions of drinks and food. The drinks and appetizers were fabulous. The main courses were very good, but not outstanding. Desserts were beautifully presented and were delicious. Next time, we'll just do drinks and appetizers.
Food a little bland.
Pleasant atmosphere, fantastic food, and good company is what I found at Jose!
This was our third experience at José. The food has been excellent every time and their drink menu creative... pleasing to the eye and taste. The decor is nice and the servers are very attentive. We had a celiac and a highly allergic epi pen carrier at our table, Jose our server was diligent in checking with the kitchen. Thank you!
Noise level was not “energetic”. Noise level was too excessive. I am 43 and love a nice dinner out. When you cannot have a conversation at a table for 4 due to level of noise, it affects the overall experience and rating.
We love the food at Jose’s. It tastes fresh and not super heavy like Mexican food can be. We have eaten here on a Friday night when it was hopping but it was hard to hear because of the noise level. Lunch time on the patio is great! It was warm but the fountains and fans made it a pleasant experience. Service is awesome!!!
Every dish was salty or too salty.
Great place for sharing with friends. Nice atmosphere, pretty good food and an attentive service
Terrible service, luckily the manager stopped by and went to find our drinks we ordered 25 minutes prior.
Great seasonal menu. They change the menu often so never boring food.
Rose is the best server. Live the food.
Love it!! Good food, good place for family or couple
Always a goto date-night spot for us. Fantastic in every way. We love Jose!
Not TexMex. Expect well conceived menu, fresh and vibrant flavors of upscale real Guadalajaran food featuring seafood. Very loud but great outdoor patio.
Great food. Love the short rib. Entertaining people watching too.
Actually went here more so to see the amazing ceramic pendant lights after reading a story about Ceramica Suro, than to eat. But, we've been looking for really good aguachile since having aguachile de camaron in PVR, so I was extremely pleased to find it on the menu. Everything (the food and drinks) was so good that we will definitely be back!
Outstanding restaurant with very creative dishes from the Chef's home town in Mexico. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the dishes and the how she came to create each dish we asked about. You will need a reservation but I think if there is space at the bar they will seat you for dinner.
Eh... food wasn’t good
The restaurant was extremely hot and uncomfortable. We were celebrating a birthday and everyone in our party was sweating. The food was served to us at different times-some people got their food before others. The quality of the food was different than previous visits. Not as good as it always has been. Not sure I will come back again. Horrible experience!
My family and I have been coming to Jose since it opened. Unfortunately, since the change over to the new chef the food seems to be lacking in boldness and flavor. While everything look beautiful many of the dishes where severely under seasoned and lacked complexity the flavor that makes Mexican food so great! However, the service is, as always, still top notch!
Solid food, but nothing was a real standout. The server was in upswell mode all note
Jose rocks and rolls! Great food, pleasant service, sexy atmosphere, and hot chicks!! What the hell else is there baby!!!
Fantastic food, drinks, service and the chef, AQ, is the best. Can’t wait to return.
We've been three times to Jose, and it's always a hit or miss experience. On Tuesday, July 3 we sat on the patio and had some of the worst service I've ever encountered. The waiter would disappear for long stretches of time. Obviously the soccer game on the bar TV's were more important than our service. And our server wasn't the only server standing watching the games. Disappointing that the manager wasn't walking the floor to monitor the service or food. In addition, two of us had the redfish entrees and both were hockey pucks (well overdone). And of course there was no way to catch our server who never came back to check our table. What a frustrating night for a $ 280 experience. Love the patio, love the margaritas, love the appetizers, just didn't love Tuesday night as a whole.
I made a reservation for 6:45 and was not seated till 7:30. They told me “they were just waiting for tables to clear,” but evidently, ended up taking 45 extra minutes.
The prawn gazpacho was one of the best soups I’ve ever tasted. The salads were excellent as were their drinks.
The service was attentive with excellent recommendations.
Great looking restaurant. Well done!
