   Food and service was amazing. The only thing was there was a long wait for the food to come out. That also could have been because it’s Mothers Day.

   Overall, the food was good; however, the service was poor. Our reservation was 3:30 p.m. Arrived at 3:15 p.m. Very chaotic at the door. We were seated at 4:00. Our food order was taken at 4:15 p.m. We received our food around 5:15 p.m. Don't think we will return.

   I made a reservation and was on time. I had to wait 1.5 hours. The host could not give a time estimate for the table, and also suggested not to make a reservation on weekends because it is always busy. There were people still waiting who made reservations for earlier times. They suggested an outside table even though it was raining. They were unprofessional and rude, and did not offer any apology nor get a manager when asked. Staff said the manager was probably in the back cooking. I eventually got a text saying that the table was ready 2 hours later. Unfortunately, the lowest rating that can be given is 1 star but they don’t deserve that. It is ridiculous that gratuity is charged for 2 people in a party at 20%. People were standing at the door going outside into the street.

   Made reservations for 1:30 was told it would be a 30 min wait, ok cool we waited received text saying table was ready only to have been waiting an additional 15 mins before being seat. Think that was horrible placed order for food and wasn’t served until 1 hour later only for the food to be luke warm. I don’t mind paying a tip when service is indeed amazing but overall our waiter never checked on us but we paid gratuity.. do better

   The food was tasty—especially the oxtails, though they were very fatty and greasy. Service was poor: long wait time and a rude waiter. A hookah fell on me during my visit, burning my leg, but staff showed little concern. When I reported it, I was questioned as if it were my fault. I won’t be returning and don’t recommend this place. Houston has plenty of soul food spots with great service—support those that value their customers.

   This was our first time visiting Jocelyn’s, the food was fire and the service was as well!! This is a hidden gem, yall should go try it. R&B music and soul food…Best combination!! I’m definitely coming back❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

   It is a OKAY black owned restaurant. The food is simply mid and the ambiance is more party oriented than family atmosphere. It is small and the tables aren’t as large as the seating. The aim is more geared at hookahs and drinks which are really overpriced but strong. Overall it’s an experience I won’t miss out on if I don’t return. It’s a club that serves food. Not a restaurant that has a lounge after hours.

    Service was very disorganized took awhile for them to even take our order took even longer to get the food. Food came out out of order and I never received the drink I asked for and ultimately just asked for it to get taken off of my bill. My lady didn’t receive her sprite until after the food came out. Also they served us with plastic utensils while I saw other people using silver utensils. Our waitress was very nice and apologetic but I’m afraid that if gratuity wasn’t already added I would not have left a tip. Food was amazing so compliments to the chef and the manager was very active on the floor even stopping to check on us. I may return just for the food but overall my experience was much less than desired for the $120 I spent there.
