We had a very enjoyable meal last week the staff were freindly and attentive the only suggestion I would have is to have a bit larger selection of mains as with larger groups options are a bit limited
Unfortunately I did not like the new menu.
I had the fried rice with pork and I did not like the deep fried pork as it was flavourless and I found the rice not very flavoursome either compared with the old menu. I was disappointed that the menu changed.
Slow service, very noisy from kitchen, lack of good food presentation. Had steamed fish, came with dried, chewy stuffs on top of fish, unsure what they were, ? Fried leak, not able to eat, tasted like paper. It would look better with sliced fresh spring onion and ginger instead. Another dish was fried soft shell crab and fish, food did not look appetizing with black sauce, also tasted very salty.
Food was very poor. Wifes entree was inedible, mine was ordinary. Both our mains were tasted and left uneaten.
Wine was OK though
Disappointing as we have been there in the past and really enjoyed it.
Great service and well looked after. Food was tasty.
We found the restaurant hot, with minimal air flow. We had booking for 4, for the Chinese new year dinner. Once the food came out the table was cluttered. They could have staggered the food a bit or served it in better bowls. Our dessert was a sorbet, which by the time it came to our table it was in liquid form, the only thing frozen was the fruit that accompanied it. There were no Chinese NY festivities, so felt a bit duped.
We often dine at Jo's and it was again a delightful place with efficient service, good food and delightful ambience.
The food was very tasty, but the service was so slow. I know they were very busy being a Friday night and near Xmas and I am sure they did the best they could under the circumstances. The wait for the entrée wasn't too bad as there were four of us and we were chatting, but it was ages before the mains came out and getting a bit late for us. We had to ask how long it would be and then still had to wait for quite a while. We did enjoy the food though.
I have been coming here sporadically over the years and the service has not improved at all.
The service is still very slow.
I was there recently with a colleague for a weekday lunch. The place was not busy. But staff were inattentive and lacked initiative. It took a while for our orders to be taken. And food took a long time to arrive. After our main meal, we ordered desserts. The staff took the order and left. Empty plates not cleared from our table.
Food is good and has always been good. But your staff should be properly trained.
Staying at Hyatt Regency, Perth, we booked a package which included $$s towards meals. We decided to try Joe's Oriental Diner, one of their restaurants, and found that the food was plentiful, freshly prepared and good-value. The staff were very friendly and we found the experience most satisfying.
We have eaten at Jo's on numerous occasions. On our last visit the noise level was horrendous, making it impossible to chat. The food was good as always but dessert took ages to come and we were keen to get away from the noise.
We enjoyed our meal so much we think this restaurant will become a family favourite and we will return soon. The food and the helpful service made our outing a very enjoyable dining experience.
Have been to Joes on many occasions and felt the quality of the food has diminished. Looks like a new menu and the choices seem less. We always order the duck but on this occasion the sauce was far too spicy. The satays were average and it is way overpriced for the quality of the food. - disappointed!
My husband and I decided at the last minute to have dinner out. Joe's is our go to dinner destination as they have always offered excellent value and the food is A1. Recommended restaurant.
Have been going here once or twice a year for at least ten years but will not be visiting again.
Food lacked taste, presentation was poor and the place has simply lost its buzz. Was always good for a range of south east Asian cuisine with a bit of "theater" of the open kitchen.
Simply not good enough from Hyatt who generally have good standard F&B outlets.
Maybe they are going to kill this outlet off with the refurbishment so they are running it down. The lobby of the Hyatt looked like a dog's breakfast with some trade/craft show scattered all over the place. Looked like a trashy 3 star hotel and Hyatt really have dropped the ball. Really showing that they are going to struggle as the Perth Hotel oversupply hits over the next couple of years.
I have been to Joe's quite a few times before but was disappointed this time. The menu seems to have a reduced number of dishes. Just not the high standard I was expecting based on previous visits.
The wine selection wasn't very good. Pretty low quality of wines at high prices.
Service was ok.
Joe's is a favourite. Consistently excellent food and service. Excellent value for money. Our friends enjoyed it as much as another area restaurant that is much more expensive.
Food was lovely but service was all over the place. It was New Years Eve though so not a typical night.
Quality of the meal was excellent.
Water was not cold enough for me though.
We have often visited from the Hills to take in our favourite dish, Nasi Goreng with Tiger Beer.
While the dish wasn't as good as it used to be, it was very enjoyable and the service was first class. I missed the Prawn Crackers normally service with the dish, the dish was also a little wet?
Good, honest food at a reasonable price.
Friendly service and great atmosphere.
Being a previous dinner of Joe's Oriental, we knew what to expect and weren't disapointed
The evening was busy a service a little slow, however, food etc was very good
My husband and I often dine at this restaurant. The food is outstanding, the restaurant offers exceptional value for money. We don't hesitate in recommending this location to anyone.
The food was good but unfortunately your service was putrid. We were twiddling( four of us) our fingers for 35 minutes after we finished the entree' When inquired from the waitress why the delay is she told us that we should inform her that we finished the entree and now ready for the main meal. We are regular visitors to most of the up market restaurants in Perth but never ever have we heard of something stupid like this. Shall very reluctantly recommend to friends. To be precise the service was terrible
Had a fab time. Food delicious and affordable. Bottle of sparkling water a bit pricey. Staff were attentive and friendly. Will def go back:)
This was one of the worst meal experiences I've ever had. Right off, badly treated by the hostess. Then, a long wait for service. Then, the restaurant was out of what I asked for but claimed to had everything else. Then, it was out of the next thing I asked for. When I asked for some time to reconsider the menu, the waitress went away and never came back. When at last the hostess came over to find out whether I had ordered, I tried a new choice. This time it was supposedly available and the hostess went off to order it. The starter came and was not what I had ordered and was not any good. The main course never showed up at all. Finally, I just left. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!
Visiting chef from KL for the month of Sept has introduced his own menu , and the food is authentic and delicious.
Food and service were excellent on a busy evening
Service and food quality excellent as usual
A fantastic dining experience. Very friendly staff, top chefs and excellent menu. Prices were very good for the size of each plate of food. I would not hesitate to go back again. A great little gem in Perth CBD.
Food was excellent and so was the service.
