I booked a table through open table got a booking confirmation. Arrived to find out the venue was shut... Sort it out
I am very disappointed with the massive decline of both service and food quality of Jindabyne Thai. Our group of 8 arrived for a 6.30pm dinner on a Thursday evening for my birthday. Only a few tables were occupied at this time and it was not busy. There were three staff members who were chatting to each other behind the bar with one of them eating from a box of crackers. We were waiting for drinks service trying to make eye contact to no avail.
Our orders were eventually taken after asking them to take our drink orders. Finally a main meal was delivered by the waitress that had taken our orders. We had not received our entrees at this point and advised her of this. She squealed and returned the meal to the kitchen. At this point we had all run out of drinks and I had to go to the bar again to ask for drink orders. One of our party said "she hasnt even come to say sorry or let us know what is happening with our entrees". The waitress must have overheard this and approached the table to say they were coming shortly. Entrees were delivered with a few plates of food missing which I had to point out to her. Our main meals were then delivered whilst we were still eating our entrees!
Another drink order was made at the bar and the three drinks were 'dumped' at the end of our table for us to distribute.
My plate of Pork Belly Pad Thai was the worst pile of glug I have ever been served. It was not fit for a restaurant meal. The pork was tasty but the rest was inedible and poorly presented. The meal that was originally delivered for my son and returned to the kitchen was cold when redelivered. There was very little attention to food quality. Other meals appeared to be of better quality but none of our party had much good to say about it.
This review came to me as I was preparing an email to the restaurant about our experience. I hope this gets to the owner (not the manager as I am told she was present that night).
Will never go to Jindabyne Thai again.
Booking online was easy, welcoming and friendly staff, fresh delicious food and great value with the $30 Set Menu. Family friendly and authentic Thai.
Ordinary in most ways. A little overpriced. No ambience or Thai feel. And no recognition of special occasion which was stated in the booking.
One of the best value places in jindabyne and the best Thai food in town, great customer service too!
Tucked away at base of the LJ Hotel, good service, yummy food - try the Thai specials.
Great venue, friendly staff.
There is a limited menu, but what I had was excellent.
I especially recommend the Pork belly, spicy and crunchy.
Came for my birthday. Had heard great things and was not disappointed! Delicious meals all round.
When coming as a group, paying individual should be able to happen. Need to able to split bill.
Great food, we go back every time we go to Jindabyne...and that's every weekend
The food was amazing! Genuine Thai food, OMG so delicious. The service was poor. The girls were not attentive to tables and rudely advised at the start before we even ordered that they will not spilt our bill and we are to order our drinks separately at the bar. A few of us went to the bar only to be ignored as they were too busy talking about their plans for the night or who was sleeping with who! When our meals came out, the dishes were not given a serving spoon so we had to use our own cutlery which is like double dipping, luckily we are all quite close and we didn't mind but still not good. The floor staff are bistro waiters not restaurant waiters so they will need to pick up their act as it is not a good look for the LJ.
Great food, however, it took almost 2 hours to arrive to out table....
Nice experience for my 50th Birthday with friends - they all commented how nice the food was. We are local so it was a win for the New Restaurant
Please consider pre-heating the plates prior to service as this will keep the food warmer for a longer period when dining
We are here with our family of three adults and three kids on a busy Saturday night. Positives were that the food was wonderful and the service staff very attentive. Negatives were that the kitchen was pretty slow (but not unbearable) and the price bordered on unreasonable ($24 for two bowls of steamed rice?!)
Overall, great for a special occasion but better options around town for everyday dining.
Have eaten here twice and had one takeaway. Service has been excellent both times the waitresses are very friendly and do a great job. Food is excellent fresh tasty and good value. Definitely recommend this restaurant its a great new addition to Jindabyne
A cracking meal, authentic Thai, good sized meals and wonderful flavours
Absolutely beautiful food at good prices, service was swift and staff very nice, will definitely be returning.
Fantastic tasty food, very authentic Thai. Loved the Green Curry as good as any we have had in Thailand. This is new favourite haunt for eating.
