Food is excellent. They really listen to what you ask for and cook food mild if that is what you want. Friendly and authentic. My favorite restaurant
This time food was very good up to their standards , Service was OUTSTANDING and very attentive
I frequent Jewel of Himalaya once a month and really love their food. I recently introduced some friends to it and tried it last Saturday. They were all very satisfied with the service and really liked the food. They will definitely be back.
Terrible slow cold app tasteless meal
One of my favorite places in Scarsdale, always delicious, great quality and healthy food.
We introduced this all time favorite of ours to another family today and they loved it!
It was a lovely meal, a bit noisy but possibly because it was a weekend.
We enjoyed a birthday meal for a special person and we enjoyed our meal.
Took my mother-in-law for her birthday. Started off with the chicken chili, and I had a Momo soup beef. We also ordered beef Momos pan fried. The chili is always excellent. Crispy fresh and delicious. Vegetables perfectly cooked. I loved the Momo soup. I had three very large dumplings in a really flavorful broth.
For entrées, we ordered chicken tikka masala, specialty dish called Himalayan Makhini which was a combination of beef and chicken in a very rich delicious and spiced sauce. Not hot though.
I ordered beef sekuwa Which were very flavorful beef cubes. I also ordered a shrimp appetizer was rock shrimp in a glaze. They were good. Garlic nan was excellent! The service is excellent. Waiters and waitresses are so polite. They explain every dish, and what’s hot and what’s spicy. Meal ended with a Himalayan ceremony for my mother-in-law‘s birthday. They gave us a silk scarf came up with a gong and put a mask on her and did a ceremonial tradition. She loved it. Love this place, it’s always consistently excellent
As a regular customer , this was perhaps the first time my wife and I got disappointed by the food ... It was very light on spices (e.g not much flavor & taste) and the server mixed up our order and my plate did not come back at the right level of spaciness (i.e. it came not spicy at all and I had to ask for extra hot sauce and chopped chilies)... Will definitely go back hoping this was just a bad day in the kithcen.
We always enjoy our meal here and the wait staff is outstanding
Generous portions! Excellent food! Really eager to please staff!
Great as always! Great food, friendly service. Highly recommend.
Love this pkace
Authentic, spotless clean and great service.
I loved the music, it made me feel very nostalgic for my trip to Nepal. We can’t wait to come back. Thanks again!!!!
Excellent food and service. Staff very welcoming. The food is different from your standard Indian food to make it worthwhile to go to this restaurant. Try the Chili Chicken appetizer. The Sha Faley are good though a bit more spice would make them tastier. The Tibetan bread is unique and delicious. For the mains we loved the Chana Masala (Chickpeas), the Chicken Zalfrezi and the Chicken Curry. They bring a lot of rice with each main dish so unless you plan to eat it all or want a doggie bag, best to ask them to bring fewer orders of rice.
For dessert, the kulfi is delicious.
Not very expensive and great value for the quality of the food.
And as a plus -- the bathroom is always spotless.
What a gem! Had lunch there with a new friend, and my only sadness was that we were the only people dining. I will go back there again and again.
Lamb was WAY overcooked and VERY tough. It was very tasty, though.
Wonderful food. Attentive service. Try to go with several friends to try many dishes. Definitely going back.
Wonderful food. Congenial and competent service.
Been here several times and always love it. Terrific on Beyonce, very tasty food, really nice service, at a price that is very reasonable.
Great service and love the options.
The ambiance is nice, the food was delicious and the portions were generous. The menu had a lot of choices. We and the couple next to us had a chuckle when I asked for a vodka martini with a twist and was brought a martini with a maraschino cherry!
Delicious food in generous quantities with the prix fixe lunch!
Very good food. Some of the dishes were slightly sweet. You get plenty of rice included with the entrees.
Very tasty food. Good service. Very nice ambiance.
Great food. Great service. Surprise if it's your birthday... really nice treat.
It is always consistent deliciousness at Jewel of the Himalaya! We ordered chicken and beef korma, chicken tikka masala and Makhini chicken and beef. The Makhini combo was awesome in a great spicy tomato sauce. The korma was a delicious blend of nuts in a golden sauce. Very delicious and satisfying. The tikka masala was creamy and very flavorful.
Loved all of it!!! Everyone was happy!
Food is best when owner, manager is there. This night he was.
Glad we came back after a bad experience on a busy Sunday night. (See previous review of one star.). You can’t reject good food because of one bad night! We shall be regulars-but always on a weekday night!
Great place. Warm ambiance. Friendly staff.
Fantastic food and friendly staff. This is a family favorite!
Jewel of Himalaya is a great local restaurant with wonderful food and good service.
Glad that you asked! We both ordered vegetable curry. After an hour our waiter told us they didn’t have vegetables. They offered aloo gobi. We’re not fond of potatoes but figured at least it would have cauliflower. It arrived with just about 90% potatoes. We’d skipped lunch so my husband said, “Just eat it. The Irish survived on potatoes!” The couple right next to us who’d ordered eggplant and spinach didn’t look too happy either. But we couldn’t hear them well. (See noise level, ambience.)
This restaurant is one of my favorites. Not only is the food excellent, the service is also excellent. The staff truly makes you feel welcome. We had samosas, chicken tandoori, chicken tikka massalla, shrimp bryiani, nan, and it all was delicious.
This place is fabulous. The food is delicious. The staff is solicitous and very kind. They do a wonderful celebration of birthdays. It's getting discovered and getting more busy so go soon before it's hard to get a table!
Immaculate restaurant, fabulous food, wonderful service. Can't say enough. This place is truly a 'jewel'. Hope there will be a buffet in the future.
Delicious as always. Every dish was a treat. A local staple for my hit of spicy food.
Nice atmosphere. Waiters good. Food tasty and well presented. Nice place to go with friends.
We had been there before for my birthday and we suggested it for a friend's retirement dinner. It was the right choice. Everyone was very impressed.
Five of us had a delightful dinner. All of the dishes were delicious and generous. The service was friendly and attentive. The room was very pretty. Stop next door for dessert.
