They close at 11 our reservation was at 9:30pm. When we arrived they claimed last call. Even people walking in they were trying to avoid or tell it’s last call. Seemed the staff didn’t want to work and couldn’t wait to leave.
I just adored this dining experience from beginning to end.
Our experiences at Jellyfish are consistently excellent: delicious and fresh dishes, elegant and chic atmosphere, reasonable prices (especially at Happy Hour), and very attentive service. This time our server was Bee, and she was exceptionally helpful with regard to accommodating some of our dietary restrictions. Jellyfish is a neighborhood favorite of ours.
Food was basic sushi, not even. Soft shell crab roll (spider roll) was 1% crab 99% rice.. similar to the other rolls.. unfortunate that somewhere with such a nice ambiance & high prices didn’t put out awesome sushi :(
Koved this place except for the metal chopsticks which are too hard to use
I came here for a birthday dinner. The sushi was great and quality of the fish seemed good too. I would return.
Terrible service but good food
Great food, great service and very cute interior
Best sushi in Chicago hands down and the best atmosphere it was simply amazing
Sushimi was average, and not with the texture / taste one would expect from a place with such pricing. We also ordered three Sushi rolls where while one was great, the other two nothing special. The beef was ok, but again for the price it wasn't up to par.
Nice cold Sapporo beer, and good service balanced things a bit. Unfortunatly the last experience was the mens bathroom where the stall was out of service, and one of the urinals was overflowing.
The service was horrible. They took forever to serve us and the food was mediocre at best.
Average sushi, nothing so special, way overpriced
Food was excellent service was excellent place is beautiful highly recommended
It is good to go during happy hour times. The sushi was good but nothing outstanding to pay $19 a roll for. We went during happy hour and it was $9 but still not anything we’d go back to eat.
We are regulars at Jellyfish, it's one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants. The food is always fresh and delicious (and accommodates my gluten allergy); the servers and hosts are friendly and responsive (especially Suwimol P. and Tobey); and the decor is chic elegant, with a beautiful view overlooking Rush Street. The Happy Hour deals are outstanding. Top scores in every category!
After ordering the whole menu and celebrating 2 bdays, the food and service was awesome!!! Been coming here for yrs n they never fail...
I’ve been to Jellyfish countless of times now and it’s still one of my favorite sushi places in the city! My favorite part besides the food is the atmosphere! All of the blue lights and the DJ. Such a cool and fun vibe.
Perfect sushi. Great popcorn shrimp.
Very relaxed. Great food and service.
Amazing sushi. Great place for a first date.
Birthday for my daughter. Very nice experience. Liked the room
Dishes we wanted were not available
Great food, poor service
Been coming here for yrs now and my girls love celebrating their bdays here! Yesterday, we celebrated my 16 year old bday and they made a nice menu for her as they did for my 14yr old daughter. Happy hr is great!!! Well recommended, service is good!! Sushi is fantastic, drinks are also tasty n strong!!
Nothing was out of this world as the prices would suggest. Was the food good? Yes. Was it priced according to the wow factor I was expecting from a $25 roll? Not even close. Guess that’s what I get for choosing a joint on Rush St. There are so many sushi joints with a better value all around in the area. Find one of those.
Great. Friendly staff and great food and drinks
The worst service I have experienced. Extremely unfortunate because the food (when it finally came out) was amazing. After waiting over 1.5 hours for our sushi we decided to leave so we did not get to try that rolls.
Waiting over an hr to get our food. Drinks were never offered to be refilled. Disappointing
We went for a birthday. Good atmosphere, food is ok but service needs improvement.
Food was delicious but took a long time to come out, I think because we chose to sit at the bar. Great ambiance and perfect for date night!
The food is WAY overpriced for what it is.
Unfortunately the service was slow and a large group of inebriated gentleman were seated behind us. The dinner was spent talking over the group and trying to flag down our server for more drinks and adding items to eat. There was a fruit fly accompanying us the whole time and didn’t even offer to split the check with us. Overall it was sub par and not what I remembered the restaurant to be at my last visit.
Good sushi, a little overpriced, nice view!
I loved jellyfish in the past, but yesterday was a bad experience. I made a reservation for 11:30 and waited for ten minutes for someone to even talk to us. After I walked around the restaurant to find some who worked there she told us that the sushi chef had a family emergency. Which is completely reasonable and understandable, but for a sushi restaurant you would think there would be more than one!
This was our first time at JellyFish & it definitely WON’T be our last. Their mango toll & cherry blossom roll are the most amazing things my mouth have ever tasted. This place is amazing!!!
Overpriced, underwhelming and very average sushi. Friday night and they are out of toro, uni, and soft shell crab at 7:30. Just another subpar viagra triangle restaurant that preys on suburbanites and out of towers.
wouldn’t take coupon waited 20 minutes for a table manager sucks
I would definitely recommend
