We were really looking forward to trying this place again but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. I booked online and received a confirmation, so we showed up expecting the restaurant to be open. We arrived at 4PM, right when happy hour was supposed to start, but the doors were closed. We waited for a few minutes and knocked, but no one came to the door. The TV was on, the lights were on inside, and the lunch menu was still outside, so it looked like the restaurant was open. I even called, and someone answered and said they would check with the chef and call me back, but I never heard back. We eventually gave up and went somewhere else. I was especially disappointed because I was bringing a friend from out of town and felt embarrassed that things turned out this way. I understand that unexpected things happen, but if you’re accepting online reservations and sending confirmations, you would expect the restaurant to be open or at least let customers know if something has changed. We had high hopes for this place, but the lack of communication and follow-up really let us down.

We are not from Vancouver, so we were excited for new experience. The decoration is pretty, really Thai. We enjoyed our appetizer especially chicken skewers. Padthai was a little sweet for us. The steamed fish was mid. We also got spring roll but it was like overcooked, we sent it back and wondered if they checked before sending it to our tbl. However, they took care of it which is nice. The female server seem lost. She came to ask us if we need the check while we were waiting for our main course. That made us so confused since the restaurant wasn’t that busy

Terrible service with below average thai food lacking flavours and freshness. Do not get the "ribeye" as it was a sad tiny flank steak anyone could make at home. The left over decor from thr flying pig was their best part. The wet market videos playing on the screen didn't help the experience. Images of deep fried bones and meat being chopped up for sale was strange. At least stream a food market.

My second time here in the food was awesome the service was exemplary we had a wonderful waitress who truly looked after us and always and unlike so many restaurants when you asked for a doggy bag they were kind enough to pack it up for you so you didn't have to worry about it at your table overall outstanding experience would go back there anytime

We were long time Sala Thai customers, and were excited to try Jay Nok. We were warmly greeted and offered a quiet table in the corner. I immediately placed an order for the vegetarian spring rolls so that they would have some time to cool before we enjoyed them. Water was brought and drink orders were taken. They returned without my partners soda to inform us that they were out of the wine that I had ordered. I ordered a different red, reminded them about the soda. Even though the large dining room was only about 1/4 full, the manager and two servers seemed to be constantly busy between tending bar, taking orders and running dishes from the kitchen. They came back to take the meal order we put in an order for the papaya salad, a pad Thai and the stirfried vegetables with rice. There are two types of pad Thai, however, the server seemed fairly new and didn’t seem able to clearly communicate the difference. We chose the Pad Thai Chao Wang with the egg wrap and it was delicious. The spring rolls arrived, and we mentioned that we were ready to order the rest of the food. They said they would be right back, but it took about 20 minutes, at which time I went up to the bar where they were both busy, and waited so that we could send the order to the kitchen and there wouldn’t be too much of a lag with the other food. They punched the order in immediately. The papaya salad came along with the pad Thai, and we expected that the vegetables would follow shortly. Once the next two dishes that had been ordered at the bar arrived, and there was still no sign of the vegetables. We reminded them of it and they expedited the order. The good news is that all of the food was perfectly cooked and delicious from the red curry duck to the chicken tom yum. We finished the meal with fried bananas and housemade coconut ice cream, which was exceptional and reasonably priced. Do not miss the alley leading to the bathroom. It is a spectacular example of graffiti art.

Great food. Very flavorful. Excellent service. A nice large space with great decor. It’s a great location for authentic Thai food. It’s run by the son of the former SalaThai family. His parents used to have a downtown location, but the son moved here and tweaked the menu. Jay Nok is his wife’s name btw.

Fantastic food but iffy service. Servers bracelet dragged through the plate as she picked up finished plates. Forgot us for half an hr after dropping dessert menu. Prices on the high side. Room big and empty.

We ordered the garlic chicken wings, Salathai Pad Thai noodles with chicken, Paneng Red Curry with tiger prawns and Pineapple fried rice with crab. All were amazingly delicious. A bit on the pricier side but well worth the price. We devoured everything. maybe could have ordered 1 more dish, we where a party of 4 adults. Thank you for an fantastic evening, your staff was very attentive and super courteous.
