Took my family for my husbands 66th birthday. Loved it. Everything was delcious. Service great. Noise level perfect. We will be back.
Food was great as usual, always enjoy my time at Jake’s.
The occasion was st Valentine’s Day and the experience was delightful being my family first time over here.
Overall great experience.
I love Jake’s! A great lunch today... only drag is the parking for lunch AND Thursdays no parking on that side of the street during lunch hours. I used to live closer and so, would go more often. A great spot to sit at the bar, have a steak and watch a Yankees game. If dining in restaurant, I would recommend asking for a table upstairs by the window as the views of Van Cortland Park are lovely. Great food, service... will visit again soon.
Jake’s is always good! Good service and excellent food. Just too loud! Impossible to hold a conversation on a busy night.
The service was great , the food was excellent
Decent food . Place used to be better before .
Good food and service but a bit loud
Our group tried the late afternoon dinner menu prior to a basketball game at Manhattan College this past Friday. Choices were tempting and the quality of each of our selections was excellent as well.
The steak was excellent. We ordered Brussels sprouts with bacon that were burnt unfortunately. Not sure if there was quality control. The food was decent overall. We mentioned that it was my wife’s birthday - they didn’t do anything special for guests (no surprises)
Jake’s is a go to Steak House the food is always good steaks are cooked perfectly. The sides are great along with the drinks. They have valet parking witch helps
We went there to celebrate two birthdays. My husband and I shared a porterhouse steak for two. It was cooked to perfection.
They have free valet service.
Memorable celebration. Can’t wait to go back soon.
The Service was great.
Food was delicious but the staff was overworked. The night I was there every table was a large party and the waiters & waitresses were very overwhelmed with running up and down the stairs. A soda fountain on the 3rd floor might be helpful. The noise level was unbearable. Our party of 4 could hardly even hear each other to talk. We mostly just sat there looking at each other. Overall it was a great place to eat but you might want to check when making a reservation as to how many large parties there are before thinking of going there.
This was my first time eating at this restaurant the service was great the people were super nice the food was delicious So I highly recommend this restaurant
For a quiet lunch with basic bar food -- burgers and a tasty ale -- -- worth the price.
Jake's is beautiful! We had such a wonderful time and outstayed our welcome although no one said a word. Everyone is very gracious, it is such a homey place. We just love it every time we come there. Thank you for such a great place to dine with good friends and family!!
Celebrated my husband’s birthday! Excellent steaks perfectly cooked and great service!
A little more expensive than your everyday place however with that being said, It’s ALWAYS DELICIOUS and well
worth the price! Never disappoints. We always go there for our birthday dinners. Just a top notch steak every time! The staff is friendly and the service is great. Just an all around great place to have a delicious meal.
3rd time visiting in last 6 months and our least best experience. Food was very uneven. Garden salad was very good but just not plentiful. Daughter's bruschetta was ok. My $65 35-day dry aged rib eye was neither tender nor flavorful, thin and and too much gristle. Wife's bone in filet mignon was the same, and covered in a sauce that could have just been to cover up the quality of the meat. Daughter's skirt steak was the only highlight. Apple crisp for dessert came swimming in melted ice cream - server left it sitting in kitchen too long before bringing it out. Who was expediting in there? Maybe no one. Also, didn't see any manager walk around checking on things with staff or customers. While it was the worst of our 3 visits, they aren't off the list. For now.
Sunday brunch / lunch before a Manhattan basketball game. Ordered from brunch menu. The omelet is made to order and portions are sensible. Comes with a drink - blood mary is properly made. Meal is a good value. Service is responsive and intrusive. Recommend Jakes I do!
At first, I was hesitant to stay after we were seated completely away from everyone by the kitchen and bathrooms while it was pretty empty and we were the only Latinos there but I am glad I stayed. The food was absolutely AMAZING! My partner and I ordered the aged steak, and multiple sides along with a lobster tail to share. Best lobster tail my
partner has had and literally everything from the steak to the drinks were delicious! I do wish the atmosphere was a little different, we are in the Bronx and were still were looked at funny by most of the customers there (of course they were all white) but other then the ignorance of some customers we absolutely loved it and will certainly go again.
We waited 5 minutes for the hostess to emerge from the galley and the place was not busy at the time. Otherwise we were well taken care of and enjoyed our meal. Quality was good for a steakhouse but seems a bit pricey. One of our choices for entreé was $48 for filet mignon with crispy onions as the only side.
Went there with Mom for 20 years and now the family. Never gets old Megan runs a great operation. Staff just like her friendly and competent
Excellent food and service
Great food and service. Best steakhouse in the Bronx, but all of their food is delicious, not just the steak.
My husband and I had an early New Year's dinner at Jakes. As usual, the food and service were excellent. We shared Bang Bang Shrimp to start, then my husband had the surf and turf for dinner and I had the T-Bone steak. Everything was cooked to perfection. Our server Samantha could not have been more pleasant, especially in light of working on New Year's Eve. As I have mentioned in previous reviews, there is absolutely no need to travel to Manhattan for a great steak dinner; Jake's rivals any other restaurant I have visited there and are much better than any others I have visited in Westchester! If you are concerned about parking, don't be as they use a very reliable valet parking service.
Always a great time. My go to place for any special occasion. Or just a night out with friends. Never had a bad time here in the past 15 years.
Our server Liam was professional and quick with greeting us and making sure we knew what the specials were and making us feel comfortable. Food was amazing and decently priced. Would definitely eat there again.
Quality time after seeing a Carnegie Hall performance with my daughter.
Jakes is our absolute favorite place to eat when we want steak and oysters. Jake’s beats all the other steak houses hands down! And we’ve been to all of them. Sometimes the noise level is annoying most especially during the holidays but what can you do?
Jake's is a favorite for myself and special friends. The restaurant provides quality food and beverage, in a very comfortable and attractive setting -- especially with the upstairs tables by the window looking over Van Cortland Park. The service is concerned and cordial, making the diners to feel at home. I look forward to my next visit.
Of course this is the best steakhouse for ya know ... steaks ! Filet delish as always. This is my 4th time here maybe 5th. I’m celebrating a special occasion and I believe we got seated next to a table full of loud men for the second year in a row. This time the wait staff apologized which was nice. I’ll make a note to hopefully not have to be seated near a loud table again. The sides were just ok. My bakes potato was a little on the dry side. The macaroni and cheese had a weird after taste, maybe Parmesan cheese ? I didn’t like it. Also I like my food pretty hot to order and nothing was hot. Drinks as always great and nicely priced. The water guy was a little rude and reached over the table everytime to pour and he just seemed over it. All in all this is a favorite so I’ll be back .
Expecting to be bowled over....service was lacklustre at best. Would've had a better experience ordering from a kiosk. Food was entirely overpriced for both taste & presentation. Better off going downtown Manhattan for a real dining experience.
The food is always amazing at Jake's, but the past few times the service has not been great
Food and service was outstanding. Our only concern was that as a party of two (a couple) we were seated upstairs next to several large tables with 5+ guests. We could hardly hear each other or the waitress speak. She couldn’t hear us either! As we entered and as we were leaving were we noticed there was available seating on first floor where it was much more quiet. I had made this reservation at least a week in advance. Next time I’ll make sure that I request the lower level.
