Established in 1967, ITALIAN | PRIME at Salvatore's is recognized as one of Western New York's premier full-service fine dining restaurant. My husband and I went to Salvatore's for my birthday dinner and were extremely disappointed. The room we were in was so dark I had to use my cell phone flashlight to read the menu. When my chopped salad was served I could hardly see it. The clams casino were a bit fishy tasting and my main entree was the Italian Prime Trio which consisted of 4 oz. filet mignon (?)(looked like 2 oz.) and tough as shoe leather, the tuscan had a bone in it and the white truffle tortellinis were dry. Once again very difficult to see. My husband had the 9 oz. filet mignon ($47) which he said was also disappointing and the loaded baked potato had so much cheese in it he could hardly taste the potato. I couldn't believe they served ours dinners on wooden cutting boards which could hold in bacteria if not sanitized properly! How low class considering the ambiance at Salvatore's!!! There were 5 people seated at the table next to us that also used their cell phone flashlights to read the menu. Our waiter Giovanni was great! I never send food back because I don't know what the help in the kitchen is going to do with it so I didn't complain then but now I am exploding! Believe me I am not looking for any free gratis because last night was the last time we will frequent Salvatore's!!

01.11.2020 - We were greeted at the door. Nice touch. Felt very welcomed. Our reservations were at 6pm. Seated at our table by 5:50pm. Excellent, excellent service!!! I ordered the filet mignon and my guest ordered the salmon. Cooked to perfection!! Can't say enough about Salvatore's. I always recommend everyone they have to go and get the full experience. TOTALL, TOTALLY AWESOME!

We had a wonderful evening with friends celebrating birthdays. The service was impeccable , the food outstanding and the presentation - especially the "smokey" old fashioned's - was wonderful. I really liked the way the filets were presented on wood platters vs. plates. It was a bit pricey (they could include a side with a $47 steak) but it was a special occasion

We went on New Year’s Eve and it was extremely busy. We were greeted well and seated reasonably on time for our reservation. The atmosphere was festive and our food was delicious! However, the wait for each course to arrive was quite prolonged, which had not been our experience on previous visits. We expressed our dissatisfaction about this to management and they did make amends to our satisfaction.

For a high end dinner, the quality and taste of the food was no where close to what one would expect for a restaurant of this caliber. The chicken parm lacked any flavor, the stuffed mushrooms were luke warm. The prime rib was again lacking flavor. The desserts were the high light of this dinner. Russell Salvatore has reached out to me and expressed his concern and I appreciated this. I will give them another try.

Updated: I received a response to my review very quickly and they were very apologetic and offered to send me a gift card to use on a return visit. I think this was a very good gesture! Overall a pleasant dining experience.

Very nice atmosphere. Food and service were excellent. Only knock we have is that there were several tables that were left messy after the people left. The people had been gone for a long time and the tables were never cleaned off. Just distracted from the otherwise nice atmosphere and dining experience. Server was pleasant and very attentive and accommodating.

My appetizer was burnt and I had asked another worker to get my server and I waited and waited and waited the young man who I told to get my server came around and asked if I was taken care of yet and I replied " no" my server finally came back, a half hour later, and I had explained that I wanted another one but not anymore cause my soup should be coming out soon and so my soup did come out with dried up lobster in it from sitting in the window to long and I sent that back so we get our meals and my boyfriend's Brussel sprouts were so burnt that you couldn't even tell what they were. We finished up what we had and I had noticed people had bread on the tables I asked if everyone got bread and the answer was yes but we never got bread. It was the worst Experience I ever had at a Restaurant for that amount of money , Very disappointed.

I love Salvatore's. I don't get to go often, but it's always a wonderful experience when I do. The food is delicious and the service is very formal and impeccable. It is certainly a Western New York staple and it should be experienced.
