The restaurant serves modern Japanese food from Sushi , grilled meats and fish on our custome built bbq to tempura and our signature Bao buns.
After your meal you can enjoy an Asian inspired cocktail on the terrace or Sake and Japanese whiskeys in the bar.
Wish I could star this place more . I went for my birthday & it was the best dining experience I have ever had . Didn't feel uncomfortable even though it was very sophisticated . The staff where an absolutely AMAZING!!! From the front desk to the personal waitress/ waiter.
I just wish I could remember the ladies name that served us because she was so delightful ,patient, kind , friendly and attentive. She picked up my chopsticks on numerous occasions as I'm very clumsy. Wish I could give her a bigger compliment as she deserves the mention. Where can I start with the food absolutely divine. Beautifully presented and just so delicious. Everything is so well thought out to every fine detail how its presented, the time and selection its given to you was perfect, just enough time to enjoy it & not rushed. The decor and ambience were excellent not too loud as to hear the next table but enough of a atmosphere to feel comfortable. If you're considering going to isso please just try it you will not be disappointed. I for sure will definitely be returning.
Food was delicious however service was very slow. Two dishes were forgotten and then we reminded so one came an hour later than the rest of our food. Then checked the bill and had been charged for food we didnt receive. We told the manager who's service skills were lacking, did not apologise once and was implying that we were not telling the truth. The food was delicious and the waiter who served us was lovely but the wait and the attitude of the manager made it so that I would not return and would not recommend. A shame.
The Octopus was super nice!!!
Absolutely love this place - amazing food and great atmostphere - would return anytime!
We had a reservation originally for 7 and on the day we increased it to 14 with no issues which was great. Food was great as always, service could have been better.
Another fantastic evening in Issho....thank you all for the food and service.
Everything was superb. The staff were outstanding. Our only criticism was the wine on offer. We paid £30 for a poor bottle of rosé
Food excellent, but we were placed in a dark poky little corner, out of the way of the hub of the restaurant. Some
Dishes ridiculously expensive for what was received, others were fantastic value for money. Really bizarre.
Not sure if I would go again, I’ve had mush better experiences of Japanese food in the UK
We had an amazing french waiter who was super helpful and attentive. Beautiful restaurant, really cool feel and food was incredible! Thanks so much
Lovely atmosphere and amazing food. Can’t wait to go back again!
Very attractive venue with contemporary vibe. The food was all fabulous and the staff very attentive. Service was very good. The portions are quite small and elegant. If you’re the kind of person that wants a massive plate of stodgy food for under a tenner, it’s not for you.
Wonderful food, perfect service and some amazing squid karrage. One of the best restaurants in Leeds ❤️🍣🍤🍡
Lovely food but miserable waitress . Been before and amazing. This was just good.
First time visit and was expecting big things!
For a fine dining type Japanese restaurant the service was all over the place, 4 different serving staff, drinks ordered and promptly forgotten about!
Food was good but service let the experience down!!
Fabulous food & service. Issho never disappoints!
The lobster was very good although the number is limited every day.
Very good lunch out with the family
Lovely meal for fathers day. The bento box for £20 including a glass of prosecco was great value as well. The food was lovely & fresh & both pork belly & beef were cooked to perfection. As ever the staff were a pleasure. Attentive, polite & knowledgable they also made an effort with our 2 year old daughter.
The restaurant itself is beautiful, certainly one of the nicest venue's in Leeds. Light, modern, clean & airy with amazing views & a lovely roof terrace with views over the city. The warm rice oudding with caramelised banana's & banana ice cream is one of the best you can have anywhere in Leeds. Absolutely tremendous
Got seated straight away. The service received was brilliant. The server took a lot of time to explain the menu and advise which was very helpful. The food itself was beautiful. Very well presented and tasted amazing. Lovely atmosphere, the whole experience was well worth it
Totally amazing as usual
The food here is gorgeous. Great atmosphere and fabulous service. My only critique is that it is very over priced for what you actually get.
Delicious, but it’s definitely not a fast lunch so make sure you have the time to enjoy it.
A fantastic Japanese restaurant second only to Ogino’s in Beverley but a very close second. The pre-theatre menu was amazing & to be highly recommended. Good food, great price & fabulous surroundings. Will definitely return
The food and service were absolutely spot on - absolutely no complaints could possibly be made... however, it was unbearabley hot. We were sat near the open kitchen but I think the air conditioning was either turned off, or not functioning. I feel like I should add however that I was on a first date with an incredibly attractive lady so perhaps my nerves were just making me sweat :D
The overall experience was fantastic and I'm looking forward to going again in the future
Our third time at Issho and absolutely our favourite place to eat in Leeds.
We chose the pre-theatre menu as we were heading to the Grand and booked our table for 6.15, envisaging an hour for dinner. Our only minor gripe was that service was really slow (1 course in 40 minutes) until we said that we needed to be away from the table at 7.20 at the latest.
Our waitress, Alex, was extremely attentive and the chef and his team rushed out three courses over 25 minutes - all beautifully presented and consistently delicious.
As I said, it was a minor gripe and will not put us off from returning - though maybe next time we book slightly earlier and let the staff know when we need to be away.
The food is always great here but the portion sizes leave a bit to be desired for the price
Not good I don’t really write bad reviews but this place needs to reinvent itself
Very nice ambience and the food and service was great.
An excellent meal. As there were two of us, we chose the gourmet meal as it enables us to try many different dishes. The courses were delicious -each dish tasted so different, a lovely combination of flavours and beautiful presentation. We had to ask for a rest at one point! The service was great and I liked the fact that the waiter kept our glasses filled with tap water (as well as pouring the wine). A special meal.
Amazing food, good wine, good atmosphere. Over all pretty good value and works well for groups of people willing to share food.
Really attractive / stylish restaurant
Staff were attentive and friendly
However food is overpriced and I didn’t leave feeling full. Probably would go again but only for drinks not the food.
This is the most aesthetically pleasing restaurant I've been to in Leeds and the food tasted great. I will definitely be visiting again.
style over substance, lovely venue but poor value and inferior to yo sushi
Great choices on the menu would recommend the sushi.
Lovely dinner at Issho! Delicious food and great ambience in the restaurant! Had a cocktail on the roof top bar before dinner which was very nice as well, lovely decor, very cool! Only negative of the evening would be that after sitting down and ordering food at 8.30, the waitress re-appeared around 15 minutes later and said that if we wanted any more food then we needed to order now before the kitchen closed. Not only did this pressure us into ordering more (unnecessary) food but, it was also untrue as the kitchen stayed open for another hour and was serving another table! Despite this, it was a lovely evening and would definitely return!
Loved it amazing food and atmosphere will be back
Absolutely amazing food! The decor is fabulous, the only bad thing I could comment on is that there was one portion that was not brought out to us, so I questioned where it was and they then questioned me as if I were lying. The manager came over and described the dish to me as if I hadn’t noticed it, as if they didn’t believe me. The service after that then went down hill, we didn’t really see the original waitress after that and when taking payment she just smirked as if we had done something wrong. Everything else was excellent, shame on the attitude near the end.
Slightly disappointed at the smaller menu for lunch. Only was told this once seated so items I was looking forward too I couldn't have
I am legitimately obsessed with Issho. It’s been one year that I’ve been regularly dining at Issho with my mum and I boast about my experience to absolutely everybody! The food is perfect, the staff are lovely and I am basically friends with everyone that works there, the manager is super amazing and professional, the chefs are the best and the ambience is just wonderful. I am a fashion blogger and have even been invited to Issho for a PR launch event. The food has a higher price range than most places in leeds but it is well worth it because you know you are getting the absolute top quality of produce. Thanks for always being great.
Always love Issho. Amazing food and service.
