Wanted to try somewhere new ... thoroughly enjoyed the Ascua experience. Great ambiance and one of the best tasting meals that we have had in a very long time. Portion size was well above average.
Highly recommend the restaurant

I had read reviews and was really looking forward to eating here. The restaurant has a nice fitout and our waitress was very friendly. The food was ok. I wouldn’t rave about it. You never know until you try and people have different tastes. Saying that the lamb and chicken were cooked really well. My big gripe was the fact that we ordered a side with our main which we were told was coming but it didn’t. We did wait a while but our food would have been cold if we had waited longer. We did tell our waitress after our plates had been taken away. She did apologise and said the restaurant had just been overrun with room service orders so was busy??? I’m not sure I like that excuse. We were then given a small pot of peppermint tea on the house as an apology. That concerts to one teabag in water. We weren’t asked if we drank tea we were just given it so fortunately we like peppermint tea otherwise that would have been wasted.

Service by one female French waitress was very good. Food Good.
Unfortunately let down by the Manager lounging against the kitchen. Bench & talking to chef.& playing with his mobile phone.Spoiled the atmosphere.
Asked for desert menus & they were forgotten by another waiter who seemed like he was on another planet.
Is a shame as it’s got potential.

Beautiful dark sultry setting, menu was varied and interesting, food was incredibly elegant with great produce treated with utmost respect and presented beautifully. I had the scallops, woodfired snapper and squid ink risotto and dark chocolate tart and couldn't find a fault with any of it. Portion sizes were generous and staff had the perfect balance of attentive and invisible. Will definitely be back.

Enjoyable atmosphere, with interesting Spanish cuisine, Ascua has a lively feel, while still being able to talk without yelling. Our meals were excellent, although a little pricey when having to add on sides.

Three of us dined here last Tuesday. The restaurant is very lovely; the staff attentive.
The meals were OK but not memorable. The entrees we chose were nice. The scallops, the swimmer crab, and the Spanish ham.
I was disappointed with my Lamb rump main course. It was OK but very meaty, and unimaginative. My husband felt likewise about his Beef main course. The third main course - the fish was probably more innovative.
One dessert shared between 2, was declared wonderful.

Thank you for an absolutely amazing meal. The food was so so good and will definitely be recommending it to everyone. Service was also really attentive but not annoying - very good balance.
Definitely up there as our favourite place to dine in Perth.

Great meal, one of the best lunches I’ve had in the Perth CBD. The chicken and lamb dishes were standouts. Even the bread was amazing! Only let downs were the prices and the wine list was very limited. One of my pet peeves is restaurants not publishing the vintage but charging top dollar for a 1 or 2 year old wine. Great for a business lunch if someone else is paying. They also missed a massive opportunity by closing early and asking patrons to move to the front.

Great ambiance, great goat cheese and tomato appetizer. They recommended the Tomahawk as their signature dish and I was not super impressed by it! Not enough to want to go back there for it! I have had better steak (and Tomahawk in the past). The Tiger Prawns were absolutely amazing though. I am down here in Perth for 2 months and I wouldn't say the food was good enough to want to go back and have the Tomahawk again. The Seafood platter looked good though so perhaps next time I'll try that!

Ascua came highly recommended to us. We were given a voucher which was the catalyst for us to go. The food, wine/beverages, service and ambience was amazing. The presentation of the food and flavours were divine. We'll definitely return in the not too distant future. The service was standout, the waitperson was warm and generous and sadly we weren't able to give her a tip because we had the voucher and only enough pennies to pay the small excess which exceeded the voucher amount. We'll be back.

Awesome food, incredible flavors!
Staff were amazing!
Only negative was seating a bit close to the next table, couple were “loud talkers” and their conversation ruined our experience a little! Not the restaurants fault.
