I have never left a really bad restaurant review, but I have to for this place. The service was awful. Our waiter completely ignored us, and when we spoke to the manager he was unhelpful and patronizing. We left two hours after our reservation time having never received our entrees. I went here for my 25th birthday because I was so excited to try it and it was so disappointing.
My boyfriend and I visited Imoto for our belated Valentine’s Day dinner & it was great! We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere, but the service was okay. It took forever for our waiter to come get our food order, but it looked like they were understaffed, so we aren’t making a negative judgment off of that. Once we were able to order, though, our food & drinks came quickly and were SO good. We’ll definitely be coming back!
Parking was difficult as there was a close garage but door access was locked. No valet.
It was the worst service. When we spoke to a manager, they told us that they were sorry, would do complimentary drinks, that didn’t happen, we re-ordered drinks, was brought half -glass of our original drinks. We had more drinks than food. They ran out of everything. The manager said they didn’t know they were going to be THAT busy. Said he didn’t staff properly, and then even when we ordered, they took the order but things never came to the table. When we asked for our bill she told us that the items we didn’t get were removed because they ran out... only then was that communicated. Very sad.
The food was great. The ambiance was great. For the most part the service was great. However, at the end of my meal, I had a bit of salmon left on my plate and my server took it away. I thought he was going to box it like he had my other plate but I was wrong. I was greatly saddened by this. Greatly.
Excellent service, safety protocols and most importantly the FOOD! Delicious! Fresh and inventive. Loved it!
The food was great, and atmosphere is fun, and Ashley is an amazing server! We would come back again just to hang out with her. But the food is also delicious!
This was an entertainment experience not just a dining experience. From the walk up appeal and the beautiful entry door to the fun lighting and most delicious food, we enjoyed every moment.
We even stopped at the bar on our way out we were having such a good time. It had a great vibe and we didn’t want the evening to end.
- Agua hito peppers - get dragon style!!
- hakujin- great, soy paper with aoli
- The bug sister - my fav
- The duke - very fresh, no rice, good but not my all time fav
Excellent dining experience. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Our server, Richard was one of the best servers we have had in any Dallas restaurant. A true professional. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and provided us great table service keeping our table very neat and clean during our courses and made sure our water glasses were always filled. Those details did not go unnoticed and were very much appreciated. All in all, another 10 out of 10 dining experience at Imoto.
Chef Tim was amazing!!
Second time there, and it was another great experience! Food was delicious and the service was outstanding!
The food is always amazing and the service is outstanding. Our favorite sushi restaurant and overall restaurant in the DFW area. We will be back again.
My husband and I had the best time at Imoto. The sushi was incredibly fresh, the server was absolutely delightful, and the ambience was perfect. The music was fun but not too loud. We really enjoyed our experience.I would absolutely recommend this restaurant!
For the price, I don't think the sushi is worth it. I've spent less at Uchi and had much better food. Do not get the creme brulee.
Great food, great service, will be back
Amazing service and food! Everything we tasted was delicious!
Fantastic atmosphere, service, and food!
Tried Imoto on a Saturday night. Based on their lcation I was worrried about parking but, it was relatively easy with a garage right around the corner. We had drinks and dinner and both were fantastic. The sushi slection has a few surprises and the execution was great. A little on the pricy side but that's what you expect from a quality sushi restaurant.
I will return!
Fantastic, personable manager and chef and waitstaff! Everyone showed us some love and feels special that they reward us for being a neighbor to the restaurant. The food is some of the best sushi you can find in Dallas. I will be a regular...
Amazing!!! I haven’t had sushi that good in years. Drinks were really well done and unique. It will definitely be our new goto. Ashley was awesome! Well done all around!
Always an interesting place to eat. Great mixture of customers and staff. Everyone is so welcoming and the food is always amazing! Kent roams around and welcomes you like a friend.
Absolutely fantastic
great food. will def be back! Lobster shooters can't miss
David (manager), Jimmy (chef) and Richard (server) all did an absolutely great job. We had a fantastic time, really enjoyed trying new things and also learning a thing or two about each dish. Thank y'all!
Great Service, Food and Drinks - we will be back!
Excellent restaurant. We're Nobu and Uchi geeks and love sushi. Imoto has a fantastic menu which seems to have been taken the best from other restaurants. It's great to find a restaurant with quality sushi and dumplings/potstickers. We also had a an excellent server who explained the menu and all of our customization preferences were addressed. This restaurant is also a great value.
I’ve had great experiences at Imoto, but last night was the worst experience. The food was bad, the service was horrible. It wasn’t a great experience at all. I don’t think I’ll be going back any time soon.
Everything was wonderful and above expectations. The people and food.... the best!
Our waitress Leah was amazing and really made our night special
Imoto is all about the details - from the decor to the plating of each dish. Nothing is extraneous - what would be a garnish at other places was a carefully considered element or layer of flavor here. Particular favorites were wasabi ponzu sandy neck oysters, tai yuzu honey, kamasu (barracuda) sushi- surprising light bit of smokiness, and chili hamachi. Also, my husband said theirs was the best fried rice he’s ever had. Leah provided excellent attentive service and fantastic recommendations throughout meal, and took a great photo of us to commemorate our anniversary!
Great service and the best Asian food I’ve ever had.
Fantastic dinner with great service. Very unique sushi and and wonderful suggestions from the menu.
Food was really good, service was poor.
So happy that Imoto is back open for business! John was extremely accommodating & timely even though the restaurant was busy. The food was fantastic & even though the full menu isn’t back, John let us know they would work to make anything from the old menu we might have missed. Tables were spaced & hand sanitizer was offered on the table, which was a nice touch! Can’t wait to go back!
I loved the way it looked inside !
Definitely will be going back !
Imoto recently reopened and we sat outside on a beautiful evening amongst great friends, outstanding service and good!
Really fabulous dining experience. Our waitress made it all happen with a smile!! Amazing sushi, wine, sake bombs, don’t miss the desserts!!!
We had a very good experience. It was my boyfriends birthday and he loved the environment, the food, etc. Bartenders seem to be a little inexperience, took a little to bring drinks, and forgot the drink order at first.
If you have not tried Imoto, or if you have not been for a few months, please go. The concept has always been fun, and the location is fantastic, but recently they have completely upped the game. Imoto has evolved from being a cool, hip Victory stop to a restaurant that is serious destination for exceptional food. The sous vide octopus takes them two days to prepare and (don't say "I don't like octopus) it rivals any X-star "white tablecloth" place in town for a dish you will remember next week. The whole menu is going the same direction. Don't miss this gem. Behind the curtains is a chef who ruled Dallas for years, and has decided to re-create the delicious inventiveness that sent him into retirement. Trust me.
