Il Toscano means “The Tuscan”, and is a perfect representation of everything I am, and all that I love about my home land in Italy. My name’s Matteo – head pasta maker, chef and owner of il Toscano. I was born and raised in the countryside of Tuscany, and although I’ve now lived in Australia for over 6 years, my passion for all things Italian has never been stronger. Nor has my passion for sharing it with Australia and the Central Coast. I noticed that while there are a lot of outlets serving Italian food up here, they’re largely not hitting the mark when it comes to quality, authenticity and value for money. My wife Laura and I became so tired of being disappointed every time we ordered food out, that we decided to take matters into our own hands.

Booked at the wrong place didn’t realised there was 2 locations . The owner at Long Jetty was quite rude but anyway we ended up going to the one in Terrigal and The manager at Terrigal was so nice and made us felt welcome and felt like we were home . We came from sydney for the week end and we loved it . The pasta were delicious . Even though hubby wasn’t really keen to spend 26$ for pasta , he had no regret and he loved it . Thank you to the manager of Terrigal for the great service . Will defintely come back to the Terrigal one .

This lovely little family owned restaurant is a gem. Authentic, handmade food, personal and friendly service plus a cosy atmosphere makes this a must visit when in terrigal. Book in though, as the premises are small.
