Tremendous portions of food at great prices. We will return
It took almost 90 minutes to get our food. And the restaurant was not crowded.
Had reservation for 7:45pm. We had Bocce bread which was good with our drinks approx. around 8pm. We also ordered our food at the same time. Didn’t get a second drink or checked on until 8:30pm. Gave them benefit of the doubt cause it was Valentines Day so we stuck around. 9:15pm still no food nor checked on with an update. Paid $40 bucks for two beers and two sangrias then left starving and ate at a diner. This is the first time I’ve ever wrote a review. If I’m getting into food arguments on Valentines Day, you can’t blame me for putting it a bad review. Do not mess with a hungry baber....ever. Not a good combo. Might not happen often here but it was a rough experience.
My fiancé and I decided to give this restaurant a try on Valentine’s Day. We sat down immediately and was given our drinks and bread. Our reservation was at 7:30pm. By 7:40 we placed our order. After sitting there for awhile we never received any food. I asked to speak with a manager and within a few minutes. Our appetizer was brought to our table. It took an hour for the appetizer ( fried calamari ). As we looked around at the other 6/7 tables everyone seemed extremely disgruntled. By 9 pm still no entree. We decided to ask for the check. Paid for two drinks and an app and left. Needless to say, I don’t think we will be returning.
Staff was very friendly and attentive.
Food was delicious. Appetizers and entrees came out at a good pace. Nice and lively atmosphere
Delish and fun.
Nice venue. Good food excellent service. I would try it again. Drinks were perfect
I would recommend for pizza and appetizers. Not entrees
A touch of modern but a whole lot of classic Italian, even bocce. We were greeted and seated immediately. Bar music, dance mix, was a little loud but didn’t impede our conversation and nice being to watch the the Yankee game. We shared the burrata app special, delish but would have been better served room temp, was too cool so not as creamy and the only item we thought overpriced ($20). They served their signature bocce bread (puffed pita like) with fresh ricotta/olive oil/red pepper spread and that was very good. I thoroughly enjoyed my linguine with clams, sooo many clams, great garlic flavor. My wife had the octopus with squid ink pasta but I thought it was slightly bland but the octopus was cooked perfectly. Pastas were all served al dente which is my preference. Michael the owner/chef chatted with us and even offered a drink at the bar. We both went home with leftovers and look forward to visiting again.
Good food, nice atmosphere. And we got to play a few games of Bocci to work off some of the good food. Would highly recommend.
This place is great! Food is soo delicious and playing bocce was so much fun! I will go back and even thinking of having a party here.
Very nice decor. Staff was courteous and professional. Food was Excellent. Kids got to play bocce as well.
Excellent food, from start to finish...attentive staff...traditional Sicilian fare...only open since last October...spread the word...oh, did i mention bocce?...
My four girlfriends and I had a great time last Friday night celebrating two of my friends’ birthdays. The food & drinks were delicious! We will definitely come back this summer!
Thank you Il Palinno!!
The food was very good but the service was lacking. It took quite a while for the waiter to reach our table after we were seated. By the time he came to introduce himself and take drink orders we already had drinks, apps, and entrees selected for the entire table. He also did not bother telling us about the daily specials. I’m thinking they were understaffed that day. Everyone enjoyed the food.
Went there for the first time last week. The food was fresh and well prepared. Service was great- with a friendly staff. They have a beautiful bar with indoor bocce.
Fabulous service, great food and very nice menu selections!
Service was fantastic, The food was amazing, no complaints will be back real soon!
Great food service and atmosphere
Small menu but they cook what is on menu wonderfully . Owner is very involved in business and walks around
to make sure you are good . Service is good ,food is prepared once ordered .This is not a place if you are in a rush.
This was a nice restaurant. In an area with a lot of restaurant competition, I would return here for a meal. I ordered the pappardelle braised ribs, it was delicious. They also served us hot delicious baked bread to enjoy before our meal, it was hard not to keep eating the bread as it felt warm and welcoming. There are TVs at every angle in the place but it didn’t overwhelm the rooms capacity. Next time I go I will try to play bocce if I can.
Excellent food - short rib pasta, chicken spiedini, and rib eye were outstanding!
My friends and I decided to give this place a try for a night out and we were all glad we did. Your meal will begin with "puffy" bread which I would honestly return just to be able to eat this again. Its very warm, soft, and crunchy. It comes with a ricotta and olive oil spread.
Appetizers we had included mussels with red sauce, fried calamari, shrimp toast and a pizza; all of which we enjoyed. I had a bowl of their lentil soup, which was delicious, and tasted like it was from my mom's kitchen. The waiter told us it was a special so I am not sure how often that is on the menu, but it you are a fan of lentils, you should order it!
For entree we had linguine with clams, shrimp lemon cream sauce in a pasta, octopus with squid ink linguine, pappardelle with beef short rib and the pan seared chicken. We all enjoyed our entrees.
The menu is heavy on pastas and seafood, and all of which that we had were fresh and hit the spot.
We did not try dessert this time, but we plan on eventually returning to try some other dishes and maybe play some bocce. There was a DJ who played a nice mix of hits for a casual Saturday night out.
The one kink in their system is with their service as our waiter was polite but struggled to recite the specials; he seemed a bit nervous. Also when it came to refilling our water, we had to work hard to flag someone down. This, we suspect will improve with time. This property has turned over several times in the past but hopefully Il Pallino is there to stay.
Everyone in our party of six enjoyed the food. Service was very courteous and personal. And the bartender made us all feel welcome as we enjoyed cocktails before dinner.
The food was great. The atmosphere was wonderful. I saw Eric D'Alessandro there and was glad I did. I would go back there to eat as it was delicious.
I was a bit skeptical when we got there because no one was at the bar except for the couple we were meeting and there was one couple in the dining room. Although, there was a party in another room going on. We were all so pleasantly surprised because the mussels and the meatball appetizers were delicious and two of us had the bone in rib eye of which the flavor was amazing. I really hope the quality does not change and I hope they make it. We will definitely be back as I can't stop thinking about how good the steak and mussels were. I do think they should expand the menu just a little more. The wait staff was excellent. Friendly, helpful and everything you want in service. Thank you and good luck for a bright future.
Always great food n service. Every dish we had there so far was delicious. Highly recommend to eat there.
Overall very good. However waiter service could be much better. We had to ask and wait for the check very long
Good was great along with the service! The owner took the time to visit each and every table to make sure everything was to our liking! Great customer service. Great experience!
Tasty dishes.Seafood fra diavolo was delicous. They make a good sauce.....
Had a DJ in small dining area..znot a good idea.. some heat on a cold night would have been nice.
Otherwise, good service(they don't rush
You) snd good food
Such a great place!! Beautiful host, incredible food, amazing server, knowledgeable bartender and great music . We’ll definitely be back
Sorry we will not be baxk
Fabulous food and a courteous, well trained wait staff. An extremely personable, passionate owner. The winning combination for success. Try this place, it will not disappoint.
Food was great and the service was outstanding! Great new spot to frequent!
The food was excellent and so was the service.
Food was excellent. Service was good but could be better.
Trendy atmosphere, amazing food, and impeccable service. What more can you ask for? Il Pallino is more than a place to go eat dinner. It is an experience. Everything that we ordered was delicious.. from the apps, to the soup, to the entree's, to the desserts. Il Pallino will become a staple on Staten Island and we can't wait to return!
Drove to other side of Staten Island to try Il Pallino, a new restaurant on Arthur Kill Road. Staff was very customer focused and bartender was great. We had a Side Car cocktail before a bottle of wine and it was just delicious. Since it is a new restaurant they are working on their wine list but the selections they had was superb and we had no complaints. We selected a Masi Amarone 2012 and was delicious. We started with some bread which was like a large puffed Indian bread but tasted like Italian bread. Had a good spread to go with it. For entrees we had the pappardelle with short rib, linguine fra diavolo and a chicken dish. We had no complaints. All the food was excellent and prepared well. I will definitely return again soon. BTW they have bocci courts in the restaurant.
everthing was great, food, wine , server were great
